  1. Did you try disconnecting it & clean the connectors? Try switching between 2 sensors to make sure it is really a bad sensor.
  2. I believe they it is connected (if similar to my 2011), it could disconnect while opening the sunroof, not while closing it. The front end of the "accordion gasket" is supposed to be lodged inside a opening in the plastic on the of top the rail at the front. It does not move move with the sunroof, but there is a slider on the top of the "accordion gasket" which is connected to the sunroof, that slides with the sunroof. Sorry I can't take a picture because i don't open my sunroof anymore because of the broken rail sliders.
  3. The side that is not responding to temperature control is the one you need the actuator for. But as mentioned before, first try to disconnect & reconnect the actuator, some have reported that it fixed the issue for them, at least for while. This should also re-confirm to you that it is actually the actuator.
  4. Attached. 2014 Edge Order Guide.pdf
  5. My 2011 MKX does. Useless complication if you ask me. If I'm not mistaken, all 2011-2012 & early 2013 MKX have it. Late build 2013 models & 2014-2015 switched to a single piece armrest with a slight re-design of the cup holders.
  6. You can easily find one on eBay for a little less than $200. But you need to know which one you have, the larger mirror used in 2007-2010 models & early 2011 builds, or the newer smaller mirror used on later models. Also check if you have BLIS (with an led indicator) or a spotter mirror. Does it have the turn signal light? And last, memory seat.
  7. My advise is to forget that dealer & go to another one.
  8. This is the COP Boot. I'd also be interested weather changing it is a good measure or not.
  9. A question then comes up, can we "push" a different code without changing the SJB/BCM, effectively changing the factory code?
  10. Forgive my memory of old Windows Mobile days, we used the terms soft & hard reset quite a bit.
  11. Hard reset of the phone might be a little extreme to start with. I'd suggest to start by unpairing Sync from your phone and unpairing your phone from sync. Restart both phone & vehicle & re-pair them. If still not OK, master reset Sync & re-pair. If still no go, Hard reset the phone.
  12. Sync on the 2013 Edge Sport is called MyFord Touch. There is no specific bad year for the system. It might fail just like any PC or electronic device. The complaints surrounding it were interested the early software versions that really had many bugs and shut down on owners preventing access to HVAC & audio. With latest software updates, it is pretty reliable, as long as you don't expect it to respond like a modern tablet. In short, it is slow, but not bad. Don't let it be the reason for not going for a car you like.
  13. It is called the blend door actuator, as far as i know. Even though it is a common issue, considering the number of Edges on the road, it is not that big of an issue. Also this is the first time I read of someone who had it fail in six months. Did your mechanic use an OEM part? Do you have dual climate control? If yes, is the issue happening on both sides? Because if you have dual zone climate, then you have 2x actuators that work independently.
  14. Definition of "Perimeter" is: "the continuous line forming the boundary of a closed geometric figure." So it makes sense that they mean it does NOT moniter inside the vehicle nor glass breakage that does not technically change the perimeter of the vehicle. Or at least as akirby stated, to differentiate between this system & the older "PATS" (passive anti-theft system) or more advanced systems with interior, breakage, impact or tilt sensors. If I memory serves me right, it was also called perimeter alarm on the 99 Mercury Sable my family had those days.
  15. PDF Window stickers were previously accessible for Ford vehicles, it was useful to find out what options were included in a particular vehicle when searching used cars. But for some reason the have limited the access recently. Maybe they were afraid of too much info being easily accessed by anyone with the VIN number, especially when the MSRP was also in the PDF file.
  16. As far as I know, Perimeter Alarms on Fords are monitor Doors, Lift-gate & Hood. If any is opened the alarm will sound. The impact sensor is an add-on, not factory installed. But maybe for 2015+ that changed as I remember reading on some security option available for them.
  17. Is it a factory Alarm or an add-on? It shouldn't do that. I suggest you take it to your dealer.
  18. May I also add, as far as i know, in case you don't have rain sensing wipers (or they are disabled), then the regular intermittent speeds are probably speed sensitive. From the Owners manual:
  19. If the wiper stalk has "AUTO" written on it then it has auto wipers. Also in the left screen cluster display, there should be an option under settings to enable/disable it and there would be a sensor on the windshield behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side.
  20. If there is no coolant, the fail safe cooling system should kick in when engine temperature is high.
  21. If water is that high, I think it could also damage all wheel bearings & the rear diff (AWD). So it would still be a no go regardless of AWD or FWD.
  22. Also the clockspring is different for vehicles equipped with heated steering wheel. At least that is the case for pre 2015 models.
  23. Here are photos I just took. Hope they give you a clear picture. Just realized I forgot to take a picture before trying to remove the switch . But you get the idea from the 1st pic.
  24. You should be able to use 9011 (high beam bulbs) in 9012 housings in the same way 9005 are used in 9006. Much shorter life, but also a significant upgrade.
