There is no IAC on newer vehicles since the throttle bodies changed to drive by wire systems. What might help is to clean the throttle body & check the canister purge valve.
-
Actually, no I did not. It wasn't available in my region and the dealer said it will be possible to add it later on. And I still don't have it.

Yes, I understand and agree with most of it, but in this specific case, the software is there & they don't give you any option to buy it unless you change your whole car.

2014 Edge + Ford Fitted Hitch
omar302 replied to Richdem's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
It is probably taken out, as i don't recall such a part is available on my 2011 MKX with Tow Package. -
The software is already there, regardless if it was enabled or not from the factory. It is simply a method of enabling it, which Ford (or at least many dealers), whether intentionally or not, convinced some customers that it can be done in the early days of MyFord Touch, but then simply refused to make it an option. By the way, there are also methods to download & copy the maps, which would be a better way than your suggestion to break into someone's car and steal their SD card causing real loss to innocent people.

2014 Edge + Ford Fitted Hitch
omar302 replied to Richdem's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
As far as I know, 2011-2014 Edge Towing Package doesn't contain any additional engine oil cooler. The content only includes upgraded Radiator & Cooling Fans (in addition to the hitch, wiring harness & sway control). -
Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes & see if it helps.

With MyFord Touch, you don't need any extra hardware except for the maps SD memory card. Everything is already present.

Enabling Global Close for 2011-2015 MKX
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Jason, if we have to thank you for each credit you deserve, then I'd have to add it to my signature. Your contributions are countless. Now only if we can get more mods from you . -
Or you can add it for MUCH MUCH cheaper, search for ForScan mods & you'll find plenty of how to's. It would cost you the price of a maps SD Card & a compatible OBD connector.

No go. I tried 2013 20" Explorer Limited wheel (the polished option) on my 2011 MKX & they rubbed the brake calipers on the front.

This ABD edit enabled a menu in the instrument cluster to enable "Global Close" and it works, it will close the front windows, but not the sunroof/shade, by pressing & holding the lock button on the fob. Using Forscan I changed the following: 720-01-02 xxxx xXxx xxxx from "A" to "B". If you have previously disabled the fog light indicator, you'll then be changing it from "2" to "3". Credits to "sheltonfilms" from the Ford Explorer forums.

omar302 replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Unfortunately I am currently on a vacation & away from from car, hence can't see it to describe it. But it might be a 2011+ thing & therefore wouldn't be on present on your car. -

Battery Replacement Information
omar302 replied to tamugrad2013's topic in Accessories & Modifications
WWWPerA_ZNOW, I believe there are 2 things at play here: 1- State of current battery charge, this is so the vehicle estimates the current battery state of charge (think 0-100% full). This is what gets reset when a vehicle is left untouched for 8+ hours. 2- The characteristics of the installed battery, how fast it charges/discharges and/or how long it keeps a charge. These would change with batter age and once a new battery is installed the BCM needs to know that in order to reset the parameters accordingly. There is also a battery capacity parameter, though as far as I know, does not apply to the Edge (1st gen at least). -
From IWRBB's link, the part fits 2008-2014 Ford Edge. So a part from an older Edge should work. This is also an alternative: http://m.ebay.com/itm/222531021663

2010 Ford Edge strut and brake replacement
omar302 replied to tanman_2006's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I noticed that Ford's recommendation for the subsequent changes are always shorter than the 1st time. For example, for a 2011 Edge/MKX with a normal maintenance schedule, this is the note mentioned in the owners manual: Initial replacement at 100,000 miles (160,000 km) or 72 months; every 50,000 miles (80,000 km) or 36 months thereafter. -
It is not a matter of a hard pedal as much as it is a safety issue to be able to get full braking power when you need it. My experience in my MKX is that it came gradually, from a hissing noise till not being able to brake on time. If you must use your car, just keep a safer distance & brake early.
