First, you can easily find a used one for much cheaper on eBay. Second, you can try to disconnect it to confirm if the issue goes away. If it does, try removing it & clean it. If it is heat only, then it's the driver's side blend door actuator. You can try to disconnect it then reconnect it, it could solve it for a while, otherwise you'll need to replace it.

As far as I know, and from all official releases, the update files were always the same for NAV & non-NAV versions. Edit: for Sync 3, yes, there are different update files for NAV & non-NAV, but not for MFT (Sync version 2).

Installed these stickers for the driver's door keypad buttons due to the worn out numbers. Used the instructions in this post with a 15cm long flathead screw driver. Also since I was afraid the numbers would not lit up uniformly as the font/size do not match, I decided to rub off the old numbers completely using nail filer. outcome is OK, not quite like a new keypad, but nonetheless much better than before. The vista roof front glass has what is like 4 legs (2 front + 2 back). The part number provided (number 14 in the diagram, right 7T4Z78502M78A & left 7T4Z78502M79A) though are described as "Slide Rail Front Extension" they look like the rear legs of the vista roof. The front legs look to be part of the rails (number 11, Lift Channel, right 7T4Z78502C06A & left 7T4Z78502C07A-"with a photo" for 2007-2010) and they more than $300 each!! My 2011 MKX is in the same situation, but didn't disconnect the switches (yet) since the shade still works & the roof can tilt & close, but if slide opened would not close. Would be a great middle solution if I can only disable the slide function & leave the tilt & shade functions working.

Unfortunately, many dealers & mechanics prey on uninformed & inexperienced customers. Makes a case for those to buy new cars with long warranties. Thanks for the usual updates & information. But having the Lincoln MKX & MKT mentioned in the SSM when there are no MKX or MKT models equipped with the 6F35 Transmission is concerning. Gives the impression their own data is not reliable, who knows what other information they have is incorrect & how it might affect things, in a bad way.

You can't assume that it only draws 500ma based on it not being recognized as an "AC" port. An "AC" port means no data, while the Edge/Ford hub is still an actual USB port (data) regardless of the actual power it provides. Seems you Engineering field is not into electronics .

enigma-2, newer Lincolns do have what they call "Lincoln welcome lighting" & "Approach Detection" that does exactly what you described. So yes, the car should be continuously scanning for a "transmitting" fob without touching the door handle.

How long did you wait after locking? I think it takes some time before the alarm is enabled & fob is disabled. Also, it might be different being a 2015+.

The 2011-2014 (& 2015 MKX) are known for having a heavy steering, especially compared to vehicles with electrically assisted steering system. Not sure about the 2007-2010 as I have not driven one.

That is strange. Your MKX is a 2009, right? It has a normal key, nothing being broadcasted.

And as per mact's for strut mounts always stick with Motorcraft.

The extended warranty for the APIM is 5 years from date of original purchase. Check that date & see if your car is still under that period. If not, you might want to look for a used one online, much cheaper than new. Like what chef stated above, your main reason for what you faced is the specific dealer or service guy you dealt with.

Quick charging per smartphone standards is a technology that allows the phone to charge at voltage higher than the standard USB 5V. In case of the Qualcomm Quick Charge (2.0-3.0), the voltage will reach up to 12V. In this case your phone will report "quick Charging" or "Rapid Charging" (or similar). Ford's smart charging is simply a higher wattage (up to 2amps), in this case your phone will charge faster than a standard 500ma USB port, but it will not report it as "Quick" or "Rapid" because it is still a standard 5V input.

An easier way to test, leave the window open and work through it. Sit inside and lock using the keypad then test. Edit: note you have a 2015/2016 Edge, mine is a 2011. So they might work differently, but good to know how it will work.
