  1. Ok, so it seems that is an improvement to older models. So only the glass roof on the 2015+ Edge stops & requires holding the switch to fully close it. On older models, both the shade & roof required holding the close switch for the last few inches of travel.
  2. I'm in Qatar, it took around 2 weeks to arrive. They sold so many that I was comfortable ordering from them.
  3. No idea, sorry. All I used it for was to re-program As built Data.
  4. I purchased this with the switch already installed & is working fine.
  5. I think what Rextang meant is the one touch close for the last 5-6" of the vista roof/shade where you have to press & hold the close button for them to fully close.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I just read you post. Actually yesterday I was able to remove the BDA, it was difficult (for me). After removing the BDA I tried to hold the blend door actuator by hand to full cold as much as I can but still noticed the driver's side being warmer than the passenger side. Though I still suspected the BDA, I just installed it back (harder than removing it) & set an appointment with the dealer to get it checked along with the refrigerant charge as per you advice. I know my dealer, if they feel I did anything they will then blame me for anything that goes wrong
  7. On my 2011, it is also made from foam. I think it has to do with being sound absorbent/insulator.
  8. Further to my post, I found the procedure forreplacing the driver side blend actuator for 2007-2010 Edge, checked on my 2011 MKX and it seems I can't access the 3rd screw holding the actuator. I did however confirm the actuator is moving, also reset the HVAC module using forscan. Yet, still the driver side is noticeably less cold. Could the actuator be defective by not moving all the way, yet is still moving partially? How can I check and what is the procedure to replace it? Thanks.
  9. Hi wisdomsp, Do you have any update? Is there some calibration required? I started to feel the driver's side being noticeably less cold than the passenger side with A/C on high or max when it is really hot outside. Changing the temperature to a warmer setting does make both sides warmer, just that at the coldest setting, the driver's side does not get as cold as the passenger side.
  10. I think recently Ford switched to dealer updates only. S you'll need to update to V3.8 through your dealer only. It should be for free up to 5 years from warranty start date. For the camera, as fas as I know, this is an indication that the camera needs replacement.
  11. Try to test drive another Edge Sport under the same conditions or just take it to the dealer.
  12. From the owners manual, the PTU should take 12 ounces (0.35 L) of "SAE 75W-140 Synthetic Rear Axle Lubricant"
  13. What fuel are you using? Regular or Premium? if regular, try premium next time. It is probable the torque converter as akirby stated, locking/unlocking since as you described the engine is lugging. It is a small step to get a little more engine power before downshifting. Try premium fuel first, then if it is still there, show it to your dealer, may an update to the PCM is available that would solve it.
  14. Gere are some more details, its called Battery Monitor System. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/15548-2012-dead-battery-procedure/
  15. Did you leave the car untouched for approximately 8 hours? This is required to reset the battery management system (or whatever it was called). If you did leave the car for 8+ hours untouched, make sure the battery terminals are connected correctly and that there are no loose connections.
  16. The stock 20" Sport wheels, per the order guide, are "Polished with Magnetic Low Gloss Painted Pockets"
  17. I'd say check with the Consumer Protection Department in Dubai. https://ded.abudhabi.ae/en/consumer-protection I googled their number & this is what I found: 04 2954000 Edit: Make sure to highlight that the failed part is originally a non-serviceable part (lubed for life). So regardless of Maintenance (done or skipped) it would not affect the PTU, and that the whole reason of this extended warranty is to replace it with a new one that can be maintained.
  18. This might be a little obvious, but just in case, after unplugging the tube, which side did you try to unclog? The piece going down to under the car or to the side back to the condenser? If you only did bottom portion maybe there is a lot of junk still coming from the condenser that wasn't cleaned causing the clogging to repeat.
  19. The ETIS website shows build date in non-US format, so it DD.MM.YYYY I just checked again now & the 13N02 re-appeared under "Outstanding Field Service Actions".
  20. The side obstacle detection on newer Fords works by estimating the distance of an obstacle after it was detected by the front/rear side sensors. In other words, if you are parked & a stroller or a karts comes from the side at a door, the sensors will not detect it. Only if the car was moving & the front side sensors detected it, then it will estimate how close this object is to the side of the car as you move on. That's the reason why in the owners manual, "Side Sensing System", it states the following: Ok, so what I mean, if the vehicle suddenly detects something from the side, as you explained, while stopped at the light, I'd say it is a module issue, not simple wiring and/or moisture on the sensors. Take it to the dealer.
  21. I think that's an acceptable tradeoff for the price you pay & the features you get, unless they affect the performance/operation of the car. Want better quality in the areas you don't see? Maybe check a German Luxury car or a Lexus. You can't have the same quality & features at a reduced price without tradeoffs.
  22. Unfortunately that's a tactic used by many dealers, especially in our region. Explain to them that regardless of service, the original PTU does not have any service requirement. So any missed schedule would not have affected the PTU, hence it should still remain covered by the extended warranty. If it fails, try to contact Ford Middle East customer support by phone. If it also fails to get positive results, then complain to the consumer protection agency or whatever it is called in UAE/Dubai.
  23. I remember that on earlier Edges, FWD models had smaller brakes compared to AWD.
  24. The BMS relearn process, if not using a tool, "takes approximately 8 hours for the Body Control Module (BCM) to learn the new battery state of charge. During this 8 hour period, the vehicle must be undisturbed, with no doors opened or keyless entry button presses. If the vehicle is used before the BCM is allowed to learn the new battery state of charge, engine off load shedding can still occur and a message may be displayed."
