  1. What were you driving during those 6 months? If it's a car with very light steering feel, then you'll definitely feel the difference.
  2. Might be, as I did not face any corrosion issues with the previous 2 Motorcraft batteries.
  3. Arabsk, seems you moved to UAE? If that's the case, ask the dealer if they have leasing options. The depreciation you had is terrible, and I expect the new Edge will be even worse since it is even more expensive & the market in GCC is currently not good for new cars, but excellent if want to buy a used one though.
  4. Ford has a major issue similar to this on the 2011+ Explorer with a class action suit going on. The 2011-2014 Edge & 2011-2015 MKX also had it, though on a much smaller scale than the Explorer. Ford issued several TSB for them, mainly changing the rear air extractors, sealing openings at the rear, and finally changing the exhaust tips so the fumes exit downwards. But this is the 1st time I read about a 2015+ Edge facing the same issue. In the above, the smell comes when after/during hard acceleration with the A/C on recirculating air, seems that the fumes are being sucked in due to the A/C. I'd suggest 1st checking the rear hatch if it is closing/sealing properly.
  5. I had a nearly similar corrosion on the positive battery terminal, after disconnecting the positive terminal & cleaning, I found some cracks in the battery case right under the terminal connector (not visible unless the connector was removed). The Motorcraft MAX battery had a 3 year full warranty with up to 7 years prorata. It was ~ 18 months old at the time & hence got a free replacement without questions even though it passed the load test. Come to think of it, I believe the failed one was also purchased in January 2015.
  6. I'd suggest disconnecting the car battery for 10 minutes to reset the electronics, it might clear the message.
  7. Like what Akirby stated, if you set the remote start has a climate setting, manual or auto. In auto, it does what you want regardless of what AC setting was at when you last turned off the car. The manual setting just leaves the AC to the last setting it was at when you last turned off the car. It is a really good system & you can specify 5, 10 or 15 minute durations which can be extended to another period. Short of a smartphone remote start system, Ford's system are amongst the best.
  8. You can also ask to test drive another 2016 Edge (with the same wheel size) to confirm that your Edge really has an issue.
  9. I have an HTC 10 updated to Android Nougat and can confirm that messaging works fine on MFT V3.8 on my car & on an earlier build maybe V3.6 on a rental. If I am not mistaken, it is a Google thing as the Bluetooth profile responsible for messaging (MAP?) is not an Android thing, rather manufacturers like HTC & Samsung add it. Try the 24 hour support feature of the Pixel if they can help. Make sure to tell them otherwise Android nougat phones work fine so they don't blame MFT instead of finding a solution.
  10. I don't recall this issue ever come up. I also believe that the CX9 has a different transmission (Aisen) not manufactured by Ford.
  11. Try wiping / cleaning the capacitive HVAC buttons, may they are reacting to dirt or residue on them.
  12. Yes, for some reason Ford moved to Dealer installation of the updates without officially announcing it, so SyncMyRide will show whatever you have as up to date. There is a V3.8 from more than a year ago. You will either need to visit your dealer for the update or search for a download link & do it your self. Here is a link I found for NA: http://ivsu.binaries.ford.com/swparts/Gen2v38build15128updatepackageNARev2.zip
  13. I believe this answers your question: I would suggest searching for a set of stock 17" Edge wheels, they should be cheap.
  14. Check the owner's manual : http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?bookCode=O31263&languageCode=en&marketCode=US&viewTech=IE&chapterTitleSelected=G1676027&subTitleSelected=G1676045&topicHRef=G1547516&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=True
  15. Yes, the seat heaters (and coolers, if equipped) do come on when remote starting the vehicle based on the ambient temperature.
  16. You can see this listing how a new one looks like. As you guessed, there is a metal clip on both sides. Since your Edge it is a 2011 I assume its Kona Blue, part number for the Kona Blue is BA1Z14A626AE
  17. If you think it is the brake sensor, check if the brake lights are coming on when you lightly press on the brakes. It is the same sensor/signal for the brake lights & the shift interlock. The sensor is only an on/off switch, it shouldn't matter how hard you press on the brakes.
  18. Just saw these headlights & thought they might be of interest to some. For the 2011-2014 Edge, though they are from China.
  19. @LynchJM I'd suggest first changing the battery before worrying about the other stuff. Modern cars have a lot of electronics & a weak or dead battery will many things to act up. After changing the battery most probably everything will return back to normal. Also, the "reset issues" are not a concern, at least on the Edge. So don't start worrying now.
  20. It was the 2nd replacement since car rolled off the factory. In our area batteries usually have a life span of 1-3 years only due to our extreme summer temps & high humidity. The crack seems to be from the case deforming, probably heat related rather than mechanical torqueing.
  21. Lately noticed an unusual build up of acid on the positive battery terminal so decided to clean it, but it only re-appeared just as bad a couple of weeks later so decided to remove the terminal & do a thorough cleaning only to find out the batter case was cracked right under the terminal connector & the terminal connector badly corroded. A battery case cracking like this is something new to me. The battery was 14 months old only & the car still started fine. So got a new battery, under warranty, and installed a new terminal connector, thankfully for the Edge/MKX it comes separately without the cable & cheap (~$12/-).
  22. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/bulb_types/bulb_types.html H11 runs 55 watts with 1250 lumens H9 runs 65 watts with 2100 lumens As stated above, there is noticeable difference in output, but H9 do have a shorter life span.
