  1. Time to install a new booster. You can do it your self just perform the research on this site and dive in.
  2. Hope for the best but plan for the worst. Metal in oil is never a good sign of a healthy gear system.
  3. Interesting maintenance history discovered on BlueBerry. Three Transmission flushes in 76K miles, Three Power Steering flushes in 76K miles, Coolant flush once and nothing noted on the brakes to speak of. She had three induction cleanings also (TB cleaning/injectors) Whoever owner Blueberry was very anal retentive on maintenance to a fault. Lullebelle actually started out life as a rental car in where I live and then somehow ended up almost in Minnesota/Wisconsin area. Then I bought her and brought her back. Maintenance was very little almost to the level of abuse. LOL hard life but now things are getting done.
  4. As you say I put things in this cubby that I want to essentially hide then have to feel around inside to get them. I tend to use the cup holder to hold small stuff like change, but I found an ashtray cup at a garage sale and took the top off and use the cup in the cup holder for loose small items. This makes it easier to remove if I need the cup holder I can just move it to the center arm rest storage. Over all it does help my 2011 look cleaner and neater. The storage pocket was always a mess staring at me on the Orange Crush. So I guess I am saying in the area of clutter control it to me is a good thing. Note also the door side pockets on the 2011 are a lot larger and hold more items also, which I really like. Over all I am happy with the storage changes.
  5. If is anything like past differentials I have had fail and the whining is consistent then it is a differential failure and will get worse with time. Once it starts unfortunately the only solution for me was to replace the differential/axle.
  6. I would start by jacking it up and giving everything a go over then spinning the wheel etc. Sometimes drive train noise can transmit them selves from on location to another so this also makes diagnosis a difficult situation. Being AWD PTU is always suspect. It could also be bearings on the drive line to the rear. This drive line is either a two or three piece so you may want to check that out also. Grinding as a note will generally be more pronounced from brakes that have been sitting even from an overnight rest. Not sure how many miles you have the NEW bearings, but I have had a bearing fail with just 20k miles on it. Brakes is stuck can wear quickly down to metal and grind also, usually a front or rear catch will cause one end to stick and wear down to metal so check the pads. You should be able to do this inspection with flash light and removing the tires and some real close viewing.
  7. A system that allows the user to choose to record or just view would be a great option with the 360 view. I bet it is only a matter of time especially since they are developing autonomous cars anyway. These dash cams are the equivalent of the the CD before thumb drives became the norm.
  8. Wonder how much longer before Ford installs cams front and rear to record using an SD chip and routed through the rear view mirror or the LCD display? I bet it will not be very long before it at least becomes and option. Would you buy that option?
  9. There is no real "good" way to do this and the connections have sensitivities to the seals and cross threading that make it difficult to actually do. If you drain it using a baster then refill it will be like taking and draining your transmission then refilling. Won't get it all but will refresh. Let it cycle for a few hundred miles then do it again.
  10. If this is the case, you folks in California are awfully hard on power steering pumps or you have some really rotten luck with them. Neither one of my 2011 have an issue with power steering pumps. At least you have the Extended warranty and I doubt you will get them to suck up a Mi Culpa on this. Como es el mundo buenas suerte amigo.
  11. Tie rods are easy and can be done in the driveway. Just remember to have the alignment done right after you finish. Again do the work with all the suspension stuff first then get the tires mounted and alignment done. Then you should be good to go. I am hoping about late August to install new rear shocks and front struts and will of course make the video on this topic.
  12. I have owned chevy, ford, chrysler, dodge, honda, suzuki, mercury. Guess what? I had to have them all repaired for just about everything. Although I will admit I had the most problems with the Chrysler, Dodge products and then the Suzuki came in a close 2nd/3rd place. I can also understand the "I've got a lemon" issue I just got ride of what I call the worst POS I have ever owned recently and it was a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Now there is a truck that should not even have been sold to the public in my opinion.
  13. Hey folks, I installed a second dash cam to my 2011 ford edge limited. I moved the old dash cam to the rear since the LED screen was no longer working, but still records great. I then installed the new dash cam in the front. Pretty easy to do and provides you with a lot more security in the long run and helps you defend yourself in the event of any issues such as accidents etc. I have recorded my deer collision using the dash cam. I will put both videos in this post to see what they can do for you. Enjoy.
  14. Don't know the torque, but good and tight worked for me many times. Never had a problem.
  15. Carguy75, Keep an eye on Lullubelle Odometer readings in my signature and you will understand why I made that statement. Note: Lullubelle has been on vacation this week resting up.
  16. Matt since you live in NY is it true cars do not rust in NY?
  17. Good thing you caught it and repair the brakes. Looked like you were running about 50 percent of your stopping power with those rusty plates.
  18. Got the Dashcams installed a bit more detail than Ole Scotty Kilmer put out, but far more usable IMO.
  19. You have a long list of items to address, starting with the struts. The power steering fluid can wait and it will be fine until you take care of the other items. Just put it on your todo list. The color is a clearish amber I believe. Also note if you turn out to have a power steering leak then when that is repaired the fluid change will happen. Back story on power steering. It had 260K miles on it and the hose broke or leaked so bad I was adding a bottle everyother day. When the tech replaced the hose he asked me if I wanted the power steering fluid flushed and changed out. Told him I already did it after six bottles of fluid had leaked out.
  20. If they really wanted the gas they would just punch a hole in the tank.
  21. Ok I know this might be a redundant review for some, but there are many people who own cars that have never even opened the hood!! Just a quick overview of what is under the hood to help people learn and identify some inspection points.
  22. Let's hope not the latter choice I am hoping to get at least three years out of Lullubelle.
  23. Being an inquisitive person does make them have to answer more questions especially if you are paying you can instill into them you want the information and a better explanation. This even goes for warranty work. Ask them to print out he part diagram and explain. The parts department does this for me all the time.
  24. And video number 3. Number two encounters some issues that required a redo. Should be up tomorrow. Enjoy.
