  1. It plugs into the gateway module. On the 15+ Edge that is up under the dash above the gas pedal. On my Sport it was rather hard to get to. Small arms and hands are a bonus.
  2. The USB ports are connected to and controlled by SYNC. SYNC has to be on for them to supply power. They DO NOT work in conjunction with the 12 volt power points.
  3. The hood ajar function isn't enabled unless the vehicle has an alarm and/or remote start from factory. Take a look at your hood latch. Does it have an electrical connector plugged into it? That is where the hood switch is located. It is built into the latch. I would assume (yes big assumption) that all levels of the Edge have this even if the base ones that wouldn't come with alarm/remote start. No dealer is going to cover the programming of remote start/alarm under warranty. There was probably nothing wrong with the hood switch circuit. They are juts giving you an excuse to justify the charge which most would charge one hour min labor anyway.
  4. SYNC3 3.0 is not officially out. There has been no upgrades released for it from Ford. If you choose to install what is floating around be careful. Some of the initial packs did not have the proper NA files. When I released 2.2 that was from an official update.
  5. Sorry this site doesn't seem to send me notifications about replies....the replacement rotors/pads haven't been on too long but they are just fine. No issues. I did not weigh them.
  6. Appreciate the plug For a direct replacement I charge $500
  7. There are no map updates for SYNC3 yet.
  8. I have upgraded other vehicles that have the same vehicle platform as the 13 Edge and I can tell you 100 percent it requires hardware replacement. There is no Sirius radio in it if it didn't come with it.
  9. This requires hardware replacement, vehicle programming and possible hardware addition (antenna and/or coax). This isn't something the dealer will likely be able to do. The message on the screen is deceiving.
  10. Different recall than the OP is talking about. 2007 versus 2016 model years.
  11. Your welcome as well since I provided it to him for testing on his explorer. lol
  12. If you want to go that route let me know and I will take a couple pics and let you know what wires to splice into.
  13. If you are good at splicing into wiring there is a main plug on the passenger side kick panel area that I used. Easily accessible by removing some simple trim panels. Lots of room to work in, instead of messing with the fuse box.
  14. Okay thanks that is what I was looking for. Some pics on the net show both the gauge and miles till empty. Just wasn't sure if it should be displaying both or not.
  15. I am curious...did it also show DTE or did it just show the actual fuel gauge ?
  16. Today I installed the factory trailer wiring in my 16 Sport. I like things OEM so I did as best I could with this as most of the wiring is already there. You have to remove the RH passenger cargo trim and order about $130 in parts (trailer light module, short harness for inside the vehicle and the harness for the rear bumper area. Unfortunately on the Sport the wire from the underhood fuse box isn't present but inside the passenger compartment I borrowed main power form the AC/DC converter hot wire. I am running LED lights on my trailer so shouldn't be an issue. Anyway....get main power then just plugg everything in and tie up the bumper area wiring and away you go. I didn't have to program anything. No I didn't take pics but be very very careful pulling the trim panel in the cargo area. There are some stubborn clips. You don't have to remove it fully if you can just move it out of the way enough to get the mounting area where the module goes. If there is some interest in this I may snap some pics as I have another project going to and the back is still a little apart and wouldn't take much to pull the panel again.
  17. Looks like they brought back the windshield de-icer system that they folded on for the 17. I don't see mention of SYNC Connect??? Did I miss it or are they not offering on the Edge even on the 18s?
  18. The volume and resume run through the same wire to the clockspring to the SCCM. Considering you are having issues with both, its not the button pack. Its something after the two meet which is before the clockspring. So wiring->clockspring->wiring->SCCM. Something in that chain is bad.
  19. The GPS "antenna" is a module that has a connector with 4 wires going to it. I take it they have an OEM replacement? If so that requires a PMI (Programmable Module Installation) via dealer software.
  20. What year is their Edge? A 2011 like under your profile?
  21. 2.2 is NOT available to end users for units that came with 2.0 from the factory. Dealer upgrade only at this time per Ford. Frankly it sounds like your dealer needs some training. Updating to 2.2 does not require anything be taken apart.
  22. 2011 and 2016 are based on different electrical platforms. Not a surprise it doesn't calibrate properly.
  23. Ended up replacing the pads with Wagner ThermoQuiet and the rotors with Raybestos 681013. Was a fairly simple job with the right parts. One rotor came off hard but the other slid right off.
