Which fuse for switchable power? 2013 Ford edge
enigma-2 replied to Jesse Pokora's topic in Accessories & Modifications
On my gen 1, delay power comes in through fuse 41, with addl power through fuse 28 for start and fuse 39 for vbatt (run power). They change this on later gens? -

If you have the AWD, don't forget to pump out and refill the PTU. From a personal point, I forgot to get the rear axle fluid changed, get it done next oil change.- 18 replies

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
enigma-2 replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I replaced my battery last year, went to Ford. Warranty is 3 years, pro-rated after the 3 year period for Motorcraft battery's. (Pro-rate is only worth a cup of coffee however). -

Which fuse for switchable power? 2013 Ford edge

Best bet looks like tapping off the radio power. Radio stays on for 20 minutes or so after you power off, and located close to front power outlet. -

What do you plan to do with it? I power my radar detector off my rearview mirror circuit. It power's on & off with the ignition and stays on 20 minutes with the power delay or when a door opened. You can buy a custom harness (various lengths, made by Mirrortap) that fits your mirror and device for $40. Takes 3 Minutes to install. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. MirrorTap MTX Series, RJ-11, 15" Long, Radar Detector Power Cord With 2 Amp In-Line Fuse, Military Grade Taps, Made in USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L2SVV2U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ImfTzbPR0XMSM . -
Bobstheoilguy.com did research on most all oil filters a few years back, tested them, tore them apart, etc. I remember that Motorcraft was 2ND best, along with AC Delco, but not MoPar (which is an aftermarket filter rebanded). Mobie One was the best, but at $12 or $15 .... WIX wad good as well as NAPA Gold. Fram was the worst (total garbage), as well as all the cheap stuff you buy at Wal Mart. (Allowed dirty oil to leak past, cheap construction, cheap materials). All the other stuff was average. I think K&N is overrated. Motorcraft is the best quality you will find at a good price. (No surprise there). Why spend more when it doesn't do anything more? (Assuming your changing your oil filter on schedule).

3.5L engine noted for water pump failures (allows coolant to leak inside the engine, diluting the oil and killing the engine. One good way to prevent is to change coolant on schedule. Plastic guides wearing on timing chains. (Again do all scheduled maintenance is best defense). 2.xL direct inject turbo engines noted for carbon buildup on back side of intake valves. Several have installed Catch Cans with varying results. Fuel tanks corroding and leaking gas. (Recalls issued). Air bags needing replacing. (Recall). Brake boosters failing. (Ford replacing on several different years). (What did I forget?) All-in-all, a very reliable car.

More than likely he was being honest and trying to take care of you. As these lights are closed fairly tightly, it would be my guess that a small amount of water was alreay present in the fixture (in liquid form) and turned into a vapor mist when they ran the car through the paint drying booth. The heat from the heat lamps turned the water into vapor and it condensed on the plastic lens, as it was a cooler surface (exposed to the direct outside cooler air). No excuse for paint blemishes however.

Driver floor is SOAKING WET
enigma-2 replied to Blue_Edge15's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I stand corrected, thank you. There are no drain tubes on these cars. But there are drains. What's different is if/when they clog, they overflow directly to the exterior and not in your the car. From the service manual: Water Drainage System Check and Water Leak Corrections The roof opening panel module assembly has 2 drain channels which are located under the side trim panels to direct water externally to the front and rear corners of the roof. There are no drain hoses in this system. If a drainage system blockage or obstruction is suspected, pour a small amount of water into the suspected drain channel while observing the front and rear channel openings for any water flow restriction. Attempt to clear any blockage or obstruction using compressed air at the front or rear opening of the drain channel. If the blockage or obstruction cannot be cleared, the roof opening panel front trim and/or side trim must be removed to gain full access to the drain channel. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Trim - Front and Roof Opening Panel Trim - Side in this section. For water leak corrections, refer to the Diagnosis and Testing procedure in this section.- 480 replies

Couple of things about 22's. They run hard and wear out fast. (Not my words, Ford's. In the Owners Manual.) They do not warrant 22" tires are the fail easily and wear out quickly. At dealers for oil change, service agent came in waiting area to bs, told me just just replaced 2nd tire for Edge that just left. First tire hit a pothole, second one picked a up a screw. Guy was complaining that that tires were junk and getting expensive. (Car was only two months old at that point and he had already bought two new tires.) Hopefully you will not run into such bad kick like he did, but I would recommend you carry a spare; as the odds favor it.

Your best argument is your (all) state law requires that your windshield provide a clear view of the road in the line of sight. If the distortion is in this area, the law requires you to fix it. (Same as a cracked that runs through the line of sight).

Thought it was fixed. Sorry it's continuing. If you have the Vista moonroof, there's a remote possibility that the one or more if the drains are plugged. (Open roof, drains are located in each corner. If the clog, tbe channel becomes flooded and overflows).- 480 replies
