More than likely he was being honest and trying to take care of you. As these lights are closed fairly tightly, it would be my guess that a small amount of water was alreay present in the fixture (in liquid form) and turned into a vapor mist when they ran the car through the paint drying booth. The heat from the heat lamps turned the water into vapor and it condensed on the plastic lens, as it was a cooler surface (exposed to the direct outside cooler air). No excuse for paint blemishes however.

Driver floor is SOAKING WET
enigma-2 replied to Blue_Edge15's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I stand corrected, thank you. There are no drain tubes on these cars. But there are drains. What's different is if/when they clog, they overflow directly to the exterior and not in your the car. From the service manual: Water Drainage System Check and Water Leak Corrections The roof opening panel module assembly has 2 drain channels which are located under the side trim panels to direct water externally to the front and rear corners of the roof. There are no drain hoses in this system. If a drainage system blockage or obstruction is suspected, pour a small amount of water into the suspected drain channel while observing the front and rear channel openings for any water flow restriction. Attempt to clear any blockage or obstruction using compressed air at the front or rear opening of the drain channel. If the blockage or obstruction cannot be cleared, the roof opening panel front trim and/or side trim must be removed to gain full access to the drain channel. For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Trim - Front and Roof Opening Panel Trim - Side in this section. For water leak corrections, refer to the Diagnosis and Testing procedure in this section.- 480 replies

Couple of things about 22's. They run hard and wear out fast. (Not my words, Ford's. In the Owners Manual.) They do not warrant 22" tires are the fail easily and wear out quickly. At dealers for oil change, service agent came in waiting area to bs, told me just just replaced 2nd tire for Edge that just left. First tire hit a pothole, second one picked a up a screw. Guy was complaining that that tires were junk and getting expensive. (Car was only two months old at that point and he had already bought two new tires.) Hopefully you will not run into such bad kick like he did, but I would recommend you carry a spare; as the odds favor it.

Your best argument is your (all) state law requires that your windshield provide a clear view of the road in the line of sight. If the distortion is in this area, the law requires you to fix it. (Same as a cracked that runs through the line of sight).

Thought it was fixed. Sorry it's continuing. If you have the Vista moonroof, there's a remote possibility that the one or more if the drains are plugged. (Open roof, drains are located in each corner. If the clog, tbe channel becomes flooded and overflows).- 480 replies

Similar problem on YouTube

Was riding in a different forum where a service rep wrote about this problem "We have had a few come in like that. We replaced the lifting arm and the control module and all was fixed. Could have probably gotten away with just the module, but the Tech Hotline said to start with the lifting arm.".
-
Oh, sorry, misunderstood. Thought the different actuator works perfectly and when you put the old one back on, didn't work again. Believe there is a rear hatch module that controls the it's operation. Perhaps the oem actuator is sending the wrong signals? (Never really looked at the service manual to see what controls the actuator).
-
The fact that the replacing the actuator fixed the problems indicates that your existing actuator is bad. Looks like their running <$300 on Ebay.

Just checked ebay. A 17" is the std. high for all Edge/MKX for 2007-2013. 18" would be too big for the well. Used spare for a 2013 Edge runs around $100 shipped.

Height as well. I had a flat and tried to put the regular tire in the well for trandport. Not even close. Way too big. As I stated, mine is a 17". From the looks of it, don't believe an 18" will fit. Do you have an 18" in yours?

Access Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel
enigma-2 replied to msawdust's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
There's a picture of the fuse panel on page 250 of the owners manual (first printing). The panel uses three types/sizes of fuses, they are described on page 253 under the bottom of the chart. (Look up the fuse, next to its rating is a subscript number, this corresponds to type/size of fuse used). -
My spare on my MKX with 20" wheels and AWD is a 165x80x17. I've used it twice with no problems. (Cept it rides hard and noisy).

You may have just discovered a new Starbucks drink, a Souris Latte. Ouch! Man that's a horrible thing to have to contend with. Question I would have is, where did the parents go? Have you considered putting traps everwhere?

Battery life during medium term storage?
enigma-2 replied to TurboToad's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Parasitic load is only a few milliamps but a battery will continue to discharge even there no load connected. Seven weeks is pushing the envelope, as WWW stated, install a cutoff or connect a battery tender. Either way will prolong the life of the battery. Daytime Running Lights (DLR)

Used on Ebay for <$100http://www.ebay.com/itm/152225516642 or skull cap for <$50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/262456710887 These may not be exactly what you need, but there are others. -
I would avoid the blueish bulbs as you will actually see less. The human eye is not very sensitive to blue as well as it focuses differently inside the eye. (Eye sees best in yellow/green light). The best choice is the Phillips Xtremevision. Note that it states 100% more light on the road, but no so for the blue bulbs. (I'm running the Xtremevision & well satisfied).

Be darned, didn't realize that. Thought they were off above 30-35. Maybe has something to do with the car's airflow design. By that I was thinking of the front grill opening, etc. May be old school, thought they were 0%-100% based on coolant sensor. Nice to know, thanks for posting.

differences in the engine in the Edge/Fusion/MKX ?
enigma-2 replied to clegg78's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
Doesn't the MKX have different shift points and different rearend gearing? Why do you feel the Edge isn't perfectly matched to its drivetrain?
