  1. Ford started changing over to 4G in certain 2018 my. Your 2020 has "should" have 4G but call your dealer (you'll need your VIN) or check your sticker to be certain. Its still possible they were still installing 3G.) Anyway, about to only thing its good for is using it to remote start via cell phone. (Required paid service). It does not effect Sync services that go through your cell phone, such as emergency services (auto call after an accident). (Unless you are still using an older 3G cellphone. If so, so carriers are turning off in February, Verizon at end of year). Ford has a program for free install (owners required to pay cost of new modem) for 4G modem (for 2016/17 m/y cars built between certain dates). For all others, they bear full cost if they want upgrade. (Dealer cost for modem is $238, forget billing hours for install cost).

    Mice!

He disappeared from the board back in Sept, 2017. Think he said he found them inside the passenger seat, in the seats' heating/cooling ducting. I can understand mice inside the engine compartment, but how do they get inside the cabin (unless you leave the doors open, i guess)?
  3. Your car sounds loud, like exhaust noise. Have you checked your exhaust system for continuity? Maybe a exhaust component broke a weld and is flopping around?
  4. Aftermarket alarms and remote starters have been known to cause this after battery change. Try a + cable battery disconnect for one minute to reset.
  5. Is it me, or are you guys responding to a thread that's years old? ?

  7. Getting dumped on today, snowing an inch an hour, over sleet covered roads. Sliding all over the place. Tried to make a left hand turn and went into ditch. Pulled right out. All wheel drive worked extremely well. Never really got stuck, just continued to drive out. FWD would have gotten stuck. When car got into slide (which was all the time on these roads), the stability control system kicked in, slowed the car down automatically and pumped the wheel on the side sliding. Sounded, felt like the anti-lock brakes, only worked on one wheel. Then switched to a different wheel. Like a growling, vibration on the wheel affected. But it really worked well. Very impressive. Now if they only made it possible for IDIOTS to see through the snow-covered roads and drive in their lane instead of down the center of the road. Had to come to a compete stop twice, in my lane, while some Karen had to get wayyyyy over, into her lane, and give me a dirty look, as she passed, for making her get over. (snort). If it was any worse, I wouldn't have bothered to go out to get my Starbucks Grande, Cafe Mocha, today .... ?
  8. This may be of interest to you. (Cheapest way out, no programming). https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-2019-Ford-EDGE-REPAIR-SERVICE-AM-FM-CD-Sat-Radio-OEM-FT4T-19C107-HD-/275064646248?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

  10. Wasn't aware that the DVD versions were not complete. Ugh. Can't even count on the pirates honesty any longer. Whats the world coming to? Anyway, it's the reason I showed him where he could buy hardcopy volumes 1 & 2 of the dealer service manuals. They look like they have been well used of course, but for $27 and free shipping doubt you'd find them any cheaper.
  11. Are these the A-premium? How well do the holes line up?
  12. Sounds to me like the seloniod is malfunctioning. I remember reading a simular problem where the shop looked at the seloniod and found where a mouse had decided to make the wiring near the rdu his meal. Caused an intermittent short.
  13. Wheel bearing (esp rear). Test by turning right or left. If sound goes away or gets louder, probably bearing. (Weight of car changes in turn allows car to lean and increase or decrease bearing load on that side). Other possibilities, under floor insulation loose or bent contacting axle, something touching brake rotor or wheel, center axle bearing.
  14. It may be related to your pulling it out and not getting it to sit squarely on the glass. A wiper needs to sit at a 90 deg angle to wipe properly. When you find out what the problem was, be sure to update us.
  15. That's what I said on a previous message. Yes, the camera + & - wires connect to the video connector on the back of your radio. No, I don't know which pins. On my 09 MKX with navigation, it is pin 1 and pin 7 (directly above or below pin 1). If you can get your hands on the 2012 wiring diagrams, it you can trace the connections. (Usually the video connector is a 12-pin connector). Anyway, that's the easy part. Once you physically wire the camera, you have to turn it on in the apim or bcm (don't know which in the 2012). Apparently neither does anyone else. Finding the addresses involved to change (sometimes you have to change more than one module) will take time. The address may not be universal bc of all the variations involved. Once you experiment and get the camers to work in reverse, you must also calculate the checksum bit. None of this is as easy as it sounds and doesn't look like there's a big interest in the 2012 in the FOREScan forums. Seen where someone did it in the F150 forum, but he also had a problem afterwards. That's why I suggested a p & p approach of just using a kit that handles the connection with a custom harness and programs the radio automatically. This programmer is $180. (No camera, no harness). https://brandmotion.com/product/ford-rearview-camera-programmer-intg-frvc/ This one is $430. (No camera, comes with wiring harness). This module only works with 4" radios that have 75 ohms between pin 6 and pin 12 in the connector. (This is because there are several 4" screens used and this only works with those that have the correct resistance on those pins). https://brandmotion.com/product/ford-myford-4-dual-video-input-interface-for-factory-display-radios-9002-2780/
  16. Does she have a cordless charger hooked up in the car? Known to cause this issue. If not, next time it happens, try starting with the other key. Sometimes this works.
  17. The information is hard to find. Camera wiring is part of it, programming the BCM to turn on the camera is another. Need a harness to connect to the video unit in the ACM. Then which pins to connect with. Then the location address and bit(s) to change using FOREscan. Thought this would be easier. (Ford OEM camera retails for more that this. Lol).
  18. This is what you need. https://www.crutchfield.com/S-CIMWGouwLFB/p_249RVFD79A/Crux-RVCFD-79A.html?XVINQ=GLX&awkw=534667360035&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=298136099959&awdv=m&awug=9016241&gclid=Cj0KCQiAxc6PBhCEARIsAH8Hff2O4h_adwHm6I9JowwREHMzcCoj2JpGL2pZT7OHNA4dhf4VFGoYHoUaAha8EALw_wcB

  20. One way to self check for a parasite draw, is to connect an ammeter across the positive lead, then remove one fuse at a time to see which circuit cuts the drain. Once the circuit is found, it's a "simple" case of tracking the wiring back to the device(s) involved. Any wiring modified by you or a previous owner? (Remote starters and cameras are the usual candidates).
  21. Simple. Turn it off if you hate it.
  22. Did you notice an alert in the information center informing you that the AWD was turned off? (It will turn off if it overheats do to tire spinning of overloading). Alert should illuminate if anything is wrong.
