  1. One way to self check for a parasite draw, is to connect an ammeter across the positive lead, then remove one fuse at a time to see which circuit cuts the drain. Once the circuit is found, it's a "simple" case of tracking the wiring back to the device(s) involved. Any wiring modified by you or a previous owner? (Remote starters and cameras are the usual candidates).
  2. Simple. Turn it off if you hate it.
  3. Did you notice an alert in the information center informing you that the AWD was turned off? (It will turn off if it overheats do to tire spinning of overloading). Alert should illuminate if anything is wrong.
  4. The five wires that ohm together are connected at a junction point and come from the battery junction box. Furnishes + voltage. As WWWPERFA_ZN0W stated. Look for corrosion or insulation failures.

    No acceleration

Sounds like the ECM detected a serious fault and put the car in limp in mode (no acceleration). Problem is, many things can trigger this code, unrelated to the throttle body. I would begin with a full scan of all modules, to see if other modules are showing problems. As it occurred after replacing the valve cover gaskets, it may be fruitful in rechecking all electrical connections that were disturbed and all vacuum lines, for continuity. Its possible you broke a vacuum line (its a 2007 and rubber ages) or pulled a pin loose inside a connector. (Any possibility that a fuse blew when changing gaskets). This site offers advice on this code: https://www.obd-codes.com/p2110
  6. Steam, white "smoke", no codes, first impression is leaking coolant. Look carefully over the engine for tell-tale signs. Look for wet. Check temp gauge. Check coolant overflow container for coolant level. (If low, coolant is leaking somewhere). You may be able to see steam escaping with engine running. Are fan(s) running with hot engine during idle? (Can always flip a/c on the max to force fans to come on). If fans not running, car will overheat during idle and low speeds. Feel top radiator hose and bottom radiator hose. (If bottom cool, suspect water pump. If top cool, suspect bad thermostat. Either can cause overheating).
  7. The hooks installed by the OWM weren't for pulling a car from the snow or mud. They were for tying the car to the deck of a ship for overseas shipment. (In other words, necessity). The usualy reason for installing toe hooks aftermarket is to tow the car behind a motor home (not for pulling out of snow or mud when stuck).
  8. You must have two keys programmed into the car, and both of these available for use to program additional fobs. (Page 82 in your owners manual). If you only have one key programmed, you'll need to have your dealer program the new ones, or a local keysmith who has the ability do it.
  9. Maybe they kept golf balls in a glass jar that broke???? Doesn't sound like the previous owner (or dealer) cleaned the car out properly. I'd check the bottom of the consul and under the front & back car seats.
  10. I bought 2 additional key fobs for my 09 MKX off ebay. Bought OEM from an on-line Ford dealer as I don't trust aftermarket. Had the local Ford parts department cut the keys when I was in for service (but I agree with WWWPerfA and Ford is overpriced). Programmed the keys myself. For your Edge, the procedure is on page 119 of the owners manual.
  11. If both right and left mirrors fail to respond in up/down, its probably the switch (common link).
  12. There can literally be many reasons, pulling the stored codes is best to narrow it down. One possibility is the anti-theft system didn't recognize your key (the night before). The cause (possibily) is your cars battery is getting weak and the voltage dropped low. Have a battery load test run to be certain (not voltage test, a load test, one that reads the capacity of the cranking amps or cold cranking amps). Less than 50% of the rated capacity is a battery that needs replacing. If it is the anti-thief, try a reset. Put the key in the ignition and turn on (not start). Leave in the on position for several minutes to recognize the key. Then try to start. Another way is to put the key in the door, turn slightly, but not to the unlock position. Leave it for a minute or two then turn the opposite direction and leave for a minute. Then try starting.
  13. Anything loose in the spare tire well? Have you looked under to car? I'd suspect gas tank or exhaust system may have lost fastener.
  14. 09 was a great year, not much stands out as problems (considering the 07 or 08). So what has she got for options? Color? Thinking of having it modified for accessibility? BTW, welcome to the forum, glad you're here.
  15. Is ok, Mark. I'd rather see a picture of Linda Blair anyways. Something from her grindhouse years would be "heartwarming ". (Ahem). Welcome to the forum.
  16. My car always drips after pulling it in after a rain (or snow). Have a drain in the center of the garage to collect water. So no worries. Let 'er drip. I think I cleaned my garage floor; once. Took half a day and a six pack. But I had help. Neighbor came over to help. I'd do it again (admittedly it needs it), but he moved away. Welcome to the forum.
  17. Why would a US seller sell car parts that only fit cars not sold in the US? Doesn't make any sense. Write the seller (using the method provided in the eBay listing) and ask if they fit the US cars.
  18. 24" Deluxe Platinum. 921 series. (Went with a 24" to conserve room in the garage). As warm as this winter has been, I should have left the lawn mower parked in its place!

  20. This is a pix of my 2009 MKX tow hooks. They had to cut out through the grill to install. It was a kit designed for towing car behind motor home. Perhaps something simular available for your car?
  21. Bought a pair of electric gloves years a go for blowing snow. Powered by 9 volt battery. They do work, but I found a better way to go. Just drop in a heat pack on each glove and boot. Lasts for hours and much warmer. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R629VGF/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_dl_J6CT9NYWHDWR6GECDJDY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
  22. There's a simpler way to keep the lights off with the cargo hatch open. Open the hatch, trip the latch with a ball pen or whatever. Car will think the hatch is closed a day turn off the lights. (Remember to trip it back on before closing).
  23. The op stated he used 22 ga wire. Note that SAE 22 ga wire is rated at 0.92 amps. (Can go higher, 1.5 a depending on temperature rating. If not marked on wire, assume lowest rating). Nonetheless its dangerous. The wire used must be rated at whatever the branch circuitry is rated. IE if the fuse is rated at 7 amps, all wire in the circuit must be rated to carry 7 amps. (If a short occurs, the wire will be exposed to the full rating of the branch circuit, {which is the rating of the overcurrent device}, before the fuse blows). The problem isn't if the fuse blows, but if it doesn't, as in a partial short fault and only draws 6 a. The fuse doesn't blow, but the insulation melts causing sparking and/or fire.
  24. I came across this site, seems to describe the front location. (They say there's no location on the rear, perhaps the tow hitch?). Anyway https://www.lombardfordaccessories.com/ford/edge/product.cfm?productID=60838674 The hook location is always off-center, behind the cars main rail (for strength). Look where the structural main rail reaches the front of the car. Any screw hole for a toe hook will be drilled onto this member.
