18 Sport - 'Soft' front struts?
enigma-2 replied to Odrapnew's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
As the car was certified, they are probably ok; abet soft. Any possibility that the previous owner installed aftermarket struts? (Chineese junk is known to be softer). Dealer technicians can tell difference between oem and aftermarket. -
Parking brake limited function
enigma-2 replied to sjskowron's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Looks like it got pinched and torn. Maybe its a routing problem (allowing harness to contact moving parts in the suspension or brake system?) -

Edge ST Leaking rear shock, again...
enigma-2 replied to MrHappy's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Figure Motorcraft rear shocks around $60-$70 ea. Figure around ~1/2 hour labor. $600 is ridiculous. Motorcraft front struts go for around ~%110 each. Figure strur bearings around ~$25 each. Figure 2 hours labor. (They're probably quiting front struts and bearings. Nuts/bolts are usually not changed unless they're badly rusted or defective.) -
I’ve Always Said No To Sunroofs...

I'd imagine that once its screwed back tight it will be water proof. But you could always use a small amout of clear silicone around the holes for extra protection. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ID8EDKY/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_BHBT4PC24XVHJNT1M0GR -

Personally, the cheap stuff is cheap for a reason. No way I'd put cheap lube in a PTU.

No need to thank, glad to be of help. (Of course after Amazon sells your information to the world advising you research inflatable butt plugs .......) EVIL LAUGH

Actually there's nearly no chance that anyone could just shove a hose in the capless fuel fill and syphon any gas. The neck is fairly complicated. And drilling a hole in a gas tank has always been around, theres just no defense against it. And, its just not done very often.

Ford had a recall on this. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2015/07/15/ford-edge-leaks/30200447/

Yo, found the perfect fuel fill lock for yur car. No key but no one would dare touch it. Heh. https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Colt-Large-Black-Fuel-Inflatable/dp/B013UNHABA

No need to change the blinker fluid then. Don't forget to switch your tires over from winter air to summer air next month. (Unless your running snow tires. No need for those as they will have melted by then). I have the Ford garage change mine as I'm allergic to lug nuts. Touch one and I brake (sic) out in torque. Yea, I know, all torque, no action.

Just thinking outloud. Think we could help the Ukrainians beat the Russians. We round up all the members of the Animal Liberation Front, Army of God, Aryan Nation, Atomwaffen Division, Earth Liberation Front, Ku Klux Klan, Phineas Priesthood, The Base and Proud Boys; and ship them to the Ukraine. They have always wanted to play war, here's their chance. Issue each one an M27 IAR with 10,000 rounds of ammo and three M72 LAW missles; and tell them they can kill as many Russians as the want. Yeeeeee haaaaaaa.
-
Yea, but for the $10 installation, you get a one year warranty!

More likely it's just because some people are learly about having a "open" hole leading to their gas tank. However, even without it, the tank is still protected. Personally I never liked the idea of a capless fill. I like a cap that screws on and makes me feel that my tank is closed. I can see it, crank it down tight and it's no big deal to remove it when refueling. Just another needless "feature" IMO.

Apparently the "8" is a different mount and doesn't fit the 2015. It's the "B" that fits. Why the difference in price? Well it's a 2015+ after all. grin
-
Sound with the 2.7 tt eb. Pretty poor.
-
Shows through 2016 but now states doesn’t fit. Found yours on other sites and showing "not available". $50 bites but lists for over $60. If you're going to get one, may want to grab it when you can find it. Everything is only going to get more expensive from here on out. Just seen where some people are now paying $7.55 for s gallon of gas. (gurnt)
-
Well crap! I didnt look at the fitment (was lookinh at 2015 and the buggers snuck that one in on me. Sorry). Think this is the same one you found, half the price. https://www.fordgenuineautoparts.com/oem-parts/ford-locking-fuel-plug-8u5z9c268b?origin=pla&gclid=CjwKCAiAg6yRBhBNEiwAeVyL0M2PIXY6TLG6nkkwfwGMi3ol5rd84eZIqzT0bdiRhcjclCI0HRJqEBoChCEQAvD_BwE

Wonder if water is entering at the top of the door weatherstripping? Seems more likely than around the window.
-
Only thing that comes to mind is either the seal around the moon roof or the rear window washer spray line. (Plastic, if the line had a break in it, fluid possibly power spraying into headliner.) My money would be on seal around window. I'd start around top of window.

This is the cap you need for use with your capless fuel fill. Motorcraft. $25. https://accessories.ford.com/products/locking-fuel-plug

What I was thinkin of was 'this' cable with 'these' ports. With your phone plugged in via usb cable, does your phone show it to be connected via usb? That the halo ring is lighting up indicates the port is getting power. The phone obviously works, so the cable is suspect. (It's possible that one port is bad, but all ports)? Personally, I charge via a power cord plugged into a power point as it charges much faster than usb. The only time i use usb is to listen to an audio book copied to my phone. (But I haven't done this in a couple of years. Prefer sirus for entertainment.)

2013 Ford Edge SEL AWD - AWD Not Working
enigma-2 replied to fknfrds's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Not common for rear differentials fail this young. I'd bet the previous owner beat the shirt out of it. (Some of these guys think their street car belongs on a race track and drives them accordingly). My local dealer's service manager feels the PTU fail way to often. He recommends 30k miles (48 km) baised on the fluid condition they see. 80k (120 km) miles for rear differentials.
