  1. No problem. Used it this past weekend to haul a canoe. Worked great. And it came off in 2 minutes. I marked inside the door jams where that clip goes with some white electrical tape so I can easily install it without having to re-measure a bunch of times. So it should take 10 minutes max to have it back on and ready.
  2. Are you positive it is fixed? Because there are other members (or member I know at least 1 for sure) that had theirs "fixed" and it is still leaking. Then we have reports that it isn't just one or two areas....there are a possible 14 areas they are looking at. Just wish there was something official from Ford so people had some direction on what to do. But now we are seeing 1-2 new members a week signing up or popping in talking about "I have a leak and found this thread".
  3. Agree. Luckily I don't have the leaky seal issue on my Edge. I just feel for those that do. And I'm watching it closely to see how Ford handles it. Because like you said, it is a relationship built on trust. And if they want to be trusted, they need to step up and handle the issue. Not secretly. Say hey there is a problem, we know, we'll fix it, and do this for now.
  4. Nope I don't. If I did, I probably wouldn't be very vocal here that is for sure. I'm sure they don't want us to know what actually goes down and the things they really find wrong that goes through production (and those are ones they catch).
  5. I really don't think customers should be required to have any patience when it comes to a brand new vehicle that is only a month old. Or a few days old. This is why I don't like some dealers. They will say/do anything to get you to sign for a car. Because once it rolls off the lot, it is now your problem. Just like some that say their dealers have told them "my car was fixed and checked for the leak....the salesman says it is fine". I wouldn't believe that one bit. But I understand Ford is watching the bottom line here to see what is the cheapest option. Which will mean some pissed off customers that they'll write off for future sales.
  6. If the car is at the dealer, they should not need more than 1 day to prep for delivery. Hell....they could prep for delivery while you sign the papers. Unless they have to install something special that requires this long wait, then waiting a week is not cool.
  7. QC does not mean more $$$. You can be a very high quality company without spending a ton of money. Management has to be on board and willing to provide the resources/knowledge required. It has to become part of the culture. Unfortunately I have yet to see it with the American car companies. It seems they spend more time on styling and bottom line while letting quality just kind of hang out there. Yes, quality has come a long way with the Big 3...but unfortunately they are still lagging behind a lot of their foreign competition who seem to take quality and customer service a bit more serious. Right now reading about this leaking issue really leaves a bad taste in my mouth about Ford. They know these things are leaking yet you don't see much information out there about it. You'd think Ford would not want these things to flood in the first place so they won't have to pay for repairs and possibly losing a lot of customers. But instead it seems they are too busy crunching numbers to see what this does for the bottom line vs. focusing on keeping these cars from becoming rolling kiddie pools.
  8. Just put an email in to Curt to clarify if it'll work with the Sport.
  9. The etrailer.com website says it will work on the sport. http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hitch/Ford/Edge/2015/C13224.html?vehicleid=201533607 And if you look at the Q/A section it says:
  10. Go to Curt's site and you can find the hitch for the Edge Sport.
  11. You are correct it does mount between the rubber seal and the body of the vehicle. It doesn't degrade the sealing at all. The clip is pretty thin and that seal is pretty big. After installing we had a few days of heavy rain with no issue.
  12. This seal? FYI I haven't had the leaking issue. But you can see the top piece goes inside the bottom
  13. Sideswipe. Can you get a picture of the "fix" to show us?
  14. I've been googling with no luck. If your Sport has been outside in the rain, just check the floors for signs of it being wet. And I'm sure the dealer can contact someone to get info on what to look for. I have a hard time trusting some dealers. They are in the business to sell the cars. They want them signed for and out the door then worry about issues after. So they'll tell you anything to get that signature because they know you can't just bring the car back and say "Don't like it and I want my money back".
  15. "It had Fix". What is the actual fix? Because I am reading the dash needs to come out. Did they pull your dash off to check? Good sign that you don't see any water. But I'd run it through a car wash a few times to ensure no leaks. Did they take care of the issues (finger prints and door issues)? Also these doors can be a pain to close compared to other cars due to the cabin seal. My 8 y/o daughter sometimes has issues pulling it closed so I may leave my door open while she closes it. * Some clarification. The dash doesn't need to come out UNLESS there is moisture in the dash.
  16. Thanks for the info. For the one you linked that says it is compatible with Sport, there is a Q/A section. In there it says it has been confirmed to work with the Sport and Non-Sport models. I will have to look around to see who installs curt hitches in my area.
  17. And my grommet was the same. It was in place, but had a bunch of play. I could tap it with my hand and replicate the sound without an issue. My 3M tape is holding so far. I'm taking her down a few bumpy roads this weekend so we'll see if it holds. If not, i'll go the silicone route.
  18. I think it is safe to say, if it isn't leaking now and your car has been in a rainstorm/car wash, you may not see the issue. This doesn't sounds like something that is failing. Sounds to me like something was done right during production (Like a missing seal, grommet, etc..). At least, for my sake, that is the case. Because 6 months from now if this issue pops up on mine, I'll be pretty damn mad. Even though by then they should have a good handle on the exact process to use to eliminate the issue. After every rain, I've been checking just in case. I truly feel bad for those that are dealing with this. A rattle, a shutter, a light coming on, etc. can be frustrating but it normally doesn't cause damage. Water leak is just a pain because of the possibility of mold and musty smell. I have a '11 Mustang GT that has that crap chinese transmission in that has been notchy from they day it rolled off the line. Ford didn't put much, if any, time in to it. So forum members had to take it upon themselves to find some fixes that helped. I hope Ford doesn't do the same again with this issue.
  19. I've been searching online with no luck yet. Not sure the process of releasing a TSB so it may not be released yet.
  20. I'd be skeptical with a floor grommet fix. People are saying this is happening after it rains. If the car isn't moving that floor grommet won't make a difference. It has to be coming from somewhere higher up. Hence why someone has mentioned they need to pull the dash out for the fix (this may be what the TSB says). If I were anyone with this issue and the dealer says it was fixed, I'd immediately run it through a car wash 2-3 times, drive it for a bit, and then pull up the carpet to see if any new water is there. If so, I'd take it back. I'd do this until you can confirm that leak is fixed. Then you are getting it well documented in case it needs to be lemon'd.
  21. I have a feeling there are a lot of Sport owners followed by the Titanium. Lets see if that is true.
  22. Eric. I am pretty sure the rails are not available from the factory if you have the glass roof. They won't let you build it that way on the Ford site. Thule right now does not have an option for the 2015 with a naked or glass roof. I put a Yakima system on mine (no rails) which may work fine with the glass roof.
