  1. I'm surprised the 750 Miliamps is not enough to keep it charged when running Waze. Even if it is a wash. I take it you are using the same exact car charger to test both? Because I don't think the 12v outlet would make a difference...only the charger itself.
  2. I am looking to get a similar Thule kit once they have it available for the '15. My question is how easy would it be to take on/off? I don't need the roof rack often, so not sure I want the kit installed all the time.
  3. I would agree that anything major 'should' go bad within the original factory warranty. Plus the power train warranty is longer than the bumper to bumper warranty. What goes later on is things that wear out. Like sway bar links and control arms.
  4. I understand the up-front savings and in the end you can look back and say poor investment....on paper. But there is value in it for me because after 3 years or 36k miles, everytime I heard a knock or a light came on, I didn't think "Oh damn...what is this going to cost me". The thought of having that warranty made it more enjoyable and the that monthly payment not a big deal. But that is strictly personal opinion on how I look and measure value with this sort of thing. I bought an extended warranty for my TV one time. Never again. Not at the prices for TVs these days.
  5. Unless I didn't word it right, I've had around $1500 worth of repairs done using PremiumCare. So I'm close to breaking even. And I may not be done since it'll go to the shop one more time prior to PremiumCare expiration for my annual inspection/emissions. I plan on going over the car with a fine tooth comb to see if I have anything that may need attention. And I didn't finance PremiumCare since I knew you can buy it from other dealers that may have competitive pricing. So I researched the price before I bought the car and then compared it to what my dealer quoted me. So it was factored in how much I'd put down on the car. But like you said, it is a gamble. I've been lucky with the Mustang but it only has 60k on it after 5 years.
  6. For my Mustang that I bought new, I went with PremiumCare with the $50 deductible (Deductible not required until Original warranty expires). My thoughts were I wanted a warranty for the entire time I'd be making payments on the car. I had a 5 year loan. I also factored my estimated mileagle for that 5 years based on usage at the time. So I figured the warranty would run out right when I stopped making payments....and that is exactly how it is happening. It expires in July. Between the time the Original warranty expried and now, I have had to use Premium Care a few times. Last week I had new swar bar links (front and back) replaced and lower front control arms up front replaced. Also my trunk switch. Out of warranty it was about $1100. So all it cost me was $50 for my deductible. I believe I paid about $1500 for the extended warranty (I'd have to check my records to confirm). So it may have saved me a few hundred bucks in the end. But I have a feeling it would have saved me more if I was still working the same job as I was back then. I put a lot of miles on then. Now I'm 3 miles from the office so my mileage is very low. For me it was worth the $1500 knowing I'd be covered until the end of my loan. I'd hate to be making a car payment AND paying $1k this month for the repair. It is a gamble you take at the time. And as time goes on, the extended warranty price will go up. SO I suggest you make the decision around the time you get the car. Some people will claim it is always better to not get the warranty. But nobody has a crystal ball and repairs can get pricey these days. Especially with all the electronics in the car. At the time (2010), Lombard ford had the best price for the extended warranty: http://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com/
  7. congrats on the new ride.
  8. I have a Sport in White Platinum. Beautiful vehicle. She'll like it over black for sure.
  9. Most banks will allow you to change your due date. With Ford Credit, I was able to change it to my preferred date with just an email yesterday.
  10. I'd rather get a bunch of recalls then just ignoring issues
  11. 2011 Mustang GT She used to be my daily driver. Now she'll be for good weather only.
  12. Page 399 of Owners Manual (at least that is the page # on the PDF one you can DL from Ford)
  13. As for the warranty, this is they type of thing it'll cover. And it is always good to go on record saying there is an issue. The things it doesn't cover is brakes wearing out (due to regular driving and not a defect), tires going flat, oil changes, light bulbs (unless it is very soon after the car is purchased), etc.
  14. It is known that the '15 Edge takes a little force to ensure the door closes correctly. This is due to the air seals.....they sealed this car up nice. It isn't uncommon for me to have to pull my drivers door closed a few times. Eventually you'll just be used to the extra push/force required and possibly it gets easier as time goes on. One way to check to see if it is the air seal, crack the two front windows. Then try closing the rear. If it closes without this issue, then there you have it. I have a feeling in the future we will see some work arounds from people who don't like how the doors close on this vehicle. But we need more of these in the hands of owners first. Another thing you can do is go to the dealer and try out the door on another new 2015 Edge. See if it works the same.
  15. I wish I had auto-pullout about 8 years ago
  16. I won't agree that expensive waxes are nothing buy hype. These waxes have a purpose. Some are to make the paint pop, some are for longevity, some are for adding a nice topper to a sealant, and some bead/sheet which people enjoy. What matters is you find a product that fits your criteria/budget and be happy with it. I could go on all day about how I think Zaino products are over rated, over priced, and require too much time. But if it makes some car owner happy, then so be it. Everybody's criteria and budget are different. I tried a TON of different products over the past 10 years and while most of them produced a nice result, most of them don't meet my current criteria. Criteria that I developed over the years that was influenced by the process, my environment, and my life changes. I wanted a product(s) that: - Was reasonably priced. So mid-grade type pricing. - Was easy to apply. This meant not a bunch of steps requiring too many products. - Could be applied in the sun. I now have a garage, but I prefer the extra room of being outside. - That left my car protected for a few months. - That I could apply within my time availability. I have a job. I have a daughter. So free time to spend hours upon hours on my car is hard to come by. That is why I settled on using a lot of Optimum products. I ONR my cars a few times a week. I have the process down that I can get my car washed in 20 minutes without having to drag out a house, etc. Opti-Seal is a great sealant to use on clean paint (claybar at least). It goes on so easy and no buffing required. Again, 10 minutes and your car is sealed. Their spray wax is also pretty good...but I've been trying other spray waxes lately to compare. And spray wax is simple to apply and leaves nice protection. I suggest doing this at least once a month to keep a nice coat on. Their opti-bond tire dressing is good. It doesn't sling. You can dilute it however you want to achieve the amount of sheen you want. I use it 1:1.
  17. Haven't got around to getting back there to diagnose. Once I can get a friend to drive me around, I'll figure it out.
  18. Based on other posts here, some believe that the Edges equipped with that package won't be built until earliest September. Hope they are wrong.
  19. Probably from the way they are shipped. Folded in half
  20. I received the all weather mats today. I noticed the part that covers the hump sticks up a little. It doesn't sit flat.
  21. I got the same deal. But they ordered 2014 All Weather Mats. So they are shipping me the ones for the 2015.
  22. WeatherTech doesn't have the floor liners for the 15s yet. I check everyday.
  23. What is the part #? Because if you look at the roof, there is no where to just bolt them on. Unless you use a setup like Yakima has that isn't a permanent mount like you get from the factory
