  1. I may do it. It would be nice to play with with other cars just to see how they do as well. My brother has a stock 2017 Mustang GT w/Perf Package and my mother will be picking up her new 2019 MKC, replacing her 2017 lease and the Corsair is not out yet. And dad has a 2017 Escape 2.0T. And knowing the other numbers would be nice since I spend more time maybe in the city or passing on back roads and not just stopping in the middle of the road and flooring it. ?
  2. Those are nice, but I am not sure I care enough to spend $150 to figure it out a couple of times. If I was going to go further and get a custom tune, DP's, FMIC and any other bits then maybe. But this is a lease and I only wanted some improvements, for now. ?
  3. I just use an app on my phone hooked to my wifi OBDII adapter, the app is Car Scanner on an iPhone. Not sure how accurate it is but I figure the difference between the times should be a ice reflection of any increase in performance. I could definitely tell the Boost comes on in 1st sooner so that of course would help the time and it is what I feel this should have done right from the get go by Ford. But they are selling to the masses who may buy the vehicle and not really care how quick it is as longs as it can pass on the highway and back roads.
  4. Yeah a nice quad tip exhaust instead of the bumper things would look so much better. No idea of why they do those inserts.
  5. On the first run of the 93 perf tune right after install I got 5.54 just mashing the gas in normal mode with trac off. I tried Sport trans mode just mashing and got 5.91, not sure what that was about. Back to normal trans and brake boosting I got 5.499. This was at 83 degrees in an otherwise stock ST right after tuning and no driving around. Brake boosting spun the tires and I probably could have held longer to build boost but was not expecting it. Did not try Sport trans mode for that run and will do some other time. I got 5.81 in all modes with the stock tune and in mid 60's degree weather. I need to drive it more of course to see how it learns and goes. Just driving long enough to slow back down to zero between runs. I was impressed and shocked it built boost braking and flooring it, it did not do this stock. Boost comes on in 1st gear much sooner than the stock tune which is nice. Anyhow pleased with it.

  7. Some areas do have race gas, 100 octane, just not around these parts. But I imagine if you add enough octane booster you would get there But at that point, due to cost, why bother other than to get a good 1/4 mile number? Not like you are daily driving with it at that tune level. I really do not care about the numbers other than 0-60 as a measurement of what is gained. I want daily driver that can get up and go when just doing my daily commute. Lol!
  8. Unfortunately there are no E85 gas stations anywhere near me, like within a few hundred miles. And no 100 octane either. Heck we have one gas station that sells 90 octane as its highest, but there are plenty of 93's. So 93 is the best I can find here.
  9. I wish they were A few things would have been nice extras on the ST model. It would have been cool to to have the ST logo in the approach lights on the mirrors, like the Lincoln symbol is. And of course the door sills lit up. Sometimes it is the little things. I also wish the approach lights worked like the Lincolns and actually sensed the key and lit up without the need to press the unlock button. I get why some things are left off the list of features to be exlusive on the Lincoln.
  10. I will try and see if I can take a video of the Boost/RPM/Speedo on a 0-60 run before and after on the same road. You will definitely get the numbers I get from the same app I used. Heck stock it is faster than I could get with my FoST with a tune, then again that involved me shifting to, lol.
  11. What is your point? I just said that the truck is designed to do different things than the SUV and even agreed with you on why. I was commenting on the DP's being different in the F-150 because there is literally more room for them to make them different so they would flow better to give more torque down low. Where it is needed for towing. It would also give it a flatter torque curve. And this whole thread is about tuning anyway and obviously there are gains from a better DP because otherwise why would people want them. And with a tune you are increasing boost or holding it longer or what ever they are doing to attain those numbers. Sure the exhaust may be fine but the DP's would be a bottleneck and can be improved upon. The intake is a bottleneck and can be improved upon as well, someone posted another thread about that already. The FMIC on it sucks, charge air temps raise at least 70 degrees on a good pull and do not go back down until you stop flooring it. That is a loss of power right there as the timing is adjusted to compensate for it and more fuel is used to cool the chambers. The F-150 as a larger FMIC just for this reason for towing I assume. You could be losing a good 50hp at least with those temps up that much higher. So sure you can get more power with stock parts but with others you could get more and lose less when things heat up. And now I lost my point going off on a tangent. Anyway back to tuning. I am waiting patiently for word back from Livernois on whatever is next. If anyone has their tunes did your tuning device recognize your vehicle as a supported vehicle and pull the stock tune off to send to them right off the bat or did you have to fill the form out and send it in and wait for some sort of update to the tuner before you could get your stock tune to them and then get the tunes you want? I am used to sending my VIN to the tuner in the FoST world and my mods and they send you a tune file to install. Then revisions if you want them based on log files. So spending money on the tuner and getting it and almost a full say later without even a response from them as to if they even got my email is flustering. I mean if I need to do something else or update the unit again I would have liked to know. Lol.
  12. Burning smell is normal and is just the exhaust and turbos getting super hot when driving very hard/aggressively. I have over 6000 miles on mine and still smell it fro time to time when really flogging her.
  13. The stock exhaust actually goes into the holes into the bumper a little bit so it feeds out those holes and does not remain behind the fascia. Hopefully the Borla comes out a little as well, otherwise you would have exhaust gas possibly building up behind the fascia and under the car.
  14. Thanks. I will probably do a 93perf, 93 soft, 91soft and 91tow for mine then just to see the differences. Might as well play around a little with them since you can just keep changing them.
  15. Why would you be surprised that I suggest the F-150 DP's may be better flowing than the Edge Sport/ST factory ones? The F-150 has more room to not need to be squeezes in a smaller area and has less dramatic bends. And of course it is tuned to be a truck and not a 'Sporty' SUV. Probably the reason it has a much larger intercooler than the Sport/ST to keep the charge air temps down when towing. I just wish our stock exhaust sounded as good as theirs. And the Engineers at Ford most likely tuned it for safety of the engine/trans and to not push it to the absolute limits. Or maybe they just did not want it to have the same torque numbers as the Explorer ST or to be as quick off the line. They have already admitted in auto magazine articles that they wanted the 8 speed trans to shift better and quicker than it does. That was their plan at least but whoops. I am sure there are plenty of reasons they set the power levels where they did. I mean they could probably have pushed the HP number up above 350 if the wanted to and keep the power band where it is needed. But like the FoST they seemed to have tuned it for power delivery for daily driving in the city and on the highway. It really does shine there, I just wish the manually shifting was quicker, from paddle input to actual shift, so you could keep it in the power band. When you time those shifts properly it really moves nicely shifting before 5500 RPM. Hopefully the LMS tunes help in the area, I shall find out shortly.
  16. I just got my unit yesterday for my ST. I also was not sure what tunes I wanted and am not really sure what they are all called. Is there a list somewhere? I just want a 93, 91 and a Tow one for just in case. But if there are normal and performance shifting them now I am curious as to what ones to get for the first round. ?
  17. I have seen the downpipes. I was referring to why the F150 is rated higher from the factory, most likely because they have more room to put stuff. Also just stating that the factory downpipes are a bottlekneck. After market of course would allow better flow so less restictions and allow more power to be produced. I compared to the Focus ST because that downpipe has two 90 degree bends in it stock and if replaced and tuned for it gains 10-15hp, on top of what can already be gained with just the tune alone. Also just looks like a pain to get at the front DP on the Edge since it looks pretty tight in there. ? On a side note, got my tuner yesterday. Sent in the info they requested, minus the stock tune since it would not pull that and said unsupported vehicle. I assume they need to update the tune device with my info so the vehicle is supported or something, at least I hope. The instruction made it sound like I should just have been able to plug it in and get my stock tune to send to them for safe keeping or something. I come from the FoST tuning world where you give them your VIN and mods when ordering and they tie the tune to that and you just upload it to the device and you are all set. With LMS they just asked for the year, make and model. No worries though I am not in a hurry. Lol
  18. Just ordered my Livernois MyCalibrator Touch on Thursday. Should be here Monday to get me started on my ST tune. I am going to leave the rest stock for now since it is a lease and get at least a 91 and 93 tune and maybe a tow tune since you get 4. I have recorded a 5.8 0-60 times using my wifi OBDII adapter and the Car Scanner App on my iPhone, it is around 5.81. Did basically the same in both normal and sport mode and trying to brake torque. I will test again before I update the tune and then test on the 91 and again on the 93 tune files. No one seems to post any numbers so I figure I will do that. I know it does not tell us the power increase but I feel it is more useful since it will show what they can do with the trans as well as increased power to hopefully net a nice gain. I picked them since I like the increased mid range torque on the dyno they have posted and the fact they will give you up to 4 tunes that you can change at anytime, like if there is a new revision, for free. Anyway we shall see I guess.
  19. Yours sounds more like an actual engine issue and not a trans issue like the new 2019 8 speed trans seem to be having.
  20. Any pics of the exhaust itself, off or on the Edge?
  21. If yours was just built you would most likely have the latest software as well as any other updates they may have done since releasing the vehicle last year. Which is great for you but not so much for the rest of us. Lol. I ordered an LMS device and will update to how the shifting is once I get that tune. Not that it would help at all but it will be interesting to see what they have done and if it is more like I would have liked Ford to do on the ST. It is not horrible in Normal mode but it is far from what I imagined it to be in Sport mode, like they somehow got it half right because I love the throttle response and the rev matched downshifts. But I do not like the slow response to any inputs on the paddle shifting, especially after dreading the Explorer ST review that they seem to have got the 10 speed to shift even better than the Mustang GT tuning for it in the manual shift mode.
  22. Well I have used an app on my phone and OBDII WiFi adapter to check the 0-60 and in both modes they stay at 5.81 ish. But it does seem to shift better in Normal mode than Sport. If you time your paddle shifts in Sport mode though it is more fun to drive since if you time them right, since the shift is so delayed, you can stay in boost better than in either mode auto shifting. Either way it has great throttle response in Sport mode but holds gears to long and shifts to slow with the paddles. It sucks all around, even more so now that I read a review of the Explorer ST shifting nice and quick in Sport mode and better than even the Mustang GT with the same trans. I know different transmissions but I have to imagine with the right programming and the Edge ST could shift sportier. Anyway, I just placed my order for a LMS device and tune. Hopefully that will fix my trans irritations and make me enjoy the next 2.5 years of my lease more. I knew it would never be quite as fun to drive as the Focus ST was but damn is it boring even in a straight line. The most fun I have is flooring on a curved hill on my road on my way home everyday.
  23. I am keeping my eye on it.
  24. Different area in the same states have different rebates. Trust me my dad was the F&I guy at the dealer I got mine at until a few months ago when he changed positions. In NYS they are different in say the Albany area than in Northern NY.
  25. Yeah after looking at just the front downpipe I would think that is a huge restriction there. They have so much more room on the FD-150 for the downpipes and of course to upgrade them. The front one looks like a nighmare just to get off or and out of the engine compartment. A lot of the routing for the charge pipes sucks as well. And I see there is a thread about even intake/airbox as being a bottleneck. Heck on the FoST the bottleneck is the small K03 turbo, but boy does it give boost right off the bat.
