  1. Remember that the 2011 and newer wheels have a smaller hub opening than the 2010 and older Edge wheels. If you are thinking of putting these on your 2007, you would have to have the centers machined in order to fit your larger hub. If you are putting them on a 2011 or newer, they would be a direct bolt on.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the RH lower instrument panel insulator. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector. Remove the 3 blower motor screws. Remove the blower motor. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  3. Reading your posts on this subject, I will say I feel bad for you. You have placed yourself between a rock and a hard place when you originally had an independent mechanic do previous replacement of the coils. I really don't know what Ford will or will not do in your case. Hopefully you have contacted Ford customer service and have them working on this also.
  4. My 2013 displays the digital speed whenever I set the cruise control. It is a constant display which grays out and gets a line through it whenever I speed up by using the gas pedal or hit the brakes. Once I reset the cruise or take my foot off the gas and let it coast back down to the set speed of the cruise setting, it changes from being grayed out back to the bright white display. I have had the cruise set and held the set button to slow down and the speed display does act like you show. I sometimes do that when a speed zone has changed from say 55 MPH to 45 MPH. Just holding the button slows the car down and the display goes down. Once I see the speed I want to reset at, I just let go of the button and the new speed display remains constant.
  5. Use this calculator to see what the different sizes you have available do to the speedometer, width, height, etc versus the factory size. Make sure you put in the security code at the bottom right of the page, even though it may be lined out. http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
  6. I purchased one of the DVD's from eBay for the 2012-2013 models. It lists every model and has those manuals for the 2012 and 2013 models. Mine expired last month, but it is only a matter of a few seconds to change the date on my computer to allow the disc to work. When done, I just reset the date back to the current day and year. No problems at all. I tried looking on eBay but didn't see any of his listings for these DVD's at this time. I got mine several months age for around $25.00. It is the factory manuals and information and not a copy or bootleg DVD.
  7. Reading through all of the posts that were linked to, one surprising fix was also found. The last two or three pages had posts saying that disconnecting the negative battery cable for several hours fixed their "off road" nav errors. Some of the fixes were still good after several thousand miles, and no one reported it did not work or reverted back to "off road" errors.
  8. I use Firefox and have never had a problem sending a location to my vehicle (2013 Limited) via Map Quest. Just did one Saturday.
  9. Other than perhaps having a little less airflow through the filter type, I don't think you would have any problem what so ever replacing just the mesh/screen filter. I am sure the blower motors, air ducts, etc are the same in every Edge, regardless if it was factory equipped with the mesh/screen or the paper pleated filter from the factory. Enjoy the better purified/filtered air with the paper filter, especially if you install one that is carbon/charcoal impregnated. Should help with preventing the pollen from entering the car also.
  10. Curious if this was a Ford extended warranty, or an aftermarket one? The Ford Premium Care warranty has just a short list of items which are not covered. I'm surprised the dealer mentioned they weren't sure if it would be covered until a tear down unless it isn't a Ford warranty. Perhaps they were also making sure there was no negligence or lack of maintenance which may void the warranty even if the part isn't excluded. Glad you did end up with coverage and hope the repair/replacement goes well.
  11. Big difference between your topic title "Owner's Manuals" which can be found for free on the Ford website, and a "Service Manual" which usually costs money. There are a few public online library sites which provide free Chilton manuals for service work. I've posted a link to one of those sites in the past on this forum. Tried your link, it says page not found. When I searched for Ford manuals on the resulting page, it asks for $11.95 for the service manuals. Further searching on that page does, however, say it provides free "Owner's manuals". So anyone not using the Ford site may be able to view the owner's manual there.
  12. Here's just emblem stickers for the center caps as found on eBay. For as tight as the center caps are on the wheels, I just take them off to prevent damage by pushing from the back, once the wheel is removed. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l2632.R2.TR2.TRC1.A0.Xford+center+cap+sticker&_nkw=ford+center+cap+sticker&_sacat=6030&_from=R40
  13. Did you mean to say the emblem came off the wheel? If so, you can find replacements on eBay pretty easily. Those caps are usually pretty tight and are hard to get off even if you are trying. Here is just one listing found that might give you a direction to go in. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ford-center-caps-explorer-mustang-ranger-edge-flex-silver-caps-escape-taurus-/271298794806?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f2aab1536&vxp=mtr I don't know the part number off hand. You can look on the back of one of your other ones to find it.
  14. Remember also not to touch the new bulb with just your bare fingers. Use a cloth or gloves to prevent oil from your skin getting onto the bulb. This will result in shorter bulb life if the bulb gets contaminated with skin oil or other chemicals. Never really saw it happen, but I've always heard about it happening.
  15. I use just the OEM brand filters in all of my vehicles. Motorcraft in the Fords, AC Delco in the GM's, and Honda in the Acura. The filters are cheap enough to buy on eBay or Rock Auto even when factoring any shipping charges. I usually buy 3 or 4 at a time, and that cuts down on shipping. I do that just to protect myself if any thing ever goes wrong so the filters I am using can not be blamed. There have been several posts on a GM forum I follow where engine damage was not warranted because of failure of an off brand oil filter. GM even issued a bulletin to dealers to check the oil filter first when a customer complains about certain engine noises. For any small increase in cost, I'll stick with the factory OEM filters. I know I can use any filter which meets the manufacturers specifications, but I'd rather not do.
  16. Right now doing a search on this forum for just the words extended warranty returns 5 pages of results. In just the first 3 pages, there are 8 separate topics which are specifically regarding the extended warranty or ESP, not counting the one you started. There are 135 replies about the extended warranty within those 7 separate topics. Should help you with your decision if you read those instead of needing a new topic. If you still have any questions after reading those, come on back and ask them. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&andor_type=&sid=f8bfe4b735bccb5789006adb51fd0d30&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_app_filters[forums][sortKey]=date&search_term=extended+warranty&search_app=forums
  17. As mentioned, check the bearings in the rear hubs along with the e-brake being adjusted properly. Although it works, it might be making slight contact. Could also be run out on the discs. What condition are the pads and discs?
  18. Best bet for the wheels is to watch eBay or the local Craigslist. I know you may not have that much available in West Texas through Craigslist, but you never know what might pop up. The chrome cladding is NOT able to be repaired, replaced, or have another one glued on. Once the cladding is destroyed or damaged, you have to replace the complete wheel or live with the damage. You might also keep an eye on this forums classified section. Once in a while someone posts those wheels here. Don't forget that you can only use a 2011-2013 wheel for an exact fit. If you get a 2010 or older, you will have to get hub centric rings because those wheels have a larger hub size than your 2013. Good luck. What part of West Texas?
  19. Do you have navigation on your 2013 that you are now using the 64GB SD card in? If so, are there 2 SD slots like the 2 USB slots? One SD slot has to be used for the navigation card. I don't recall off hand seeing 2 SD slots.
  20. I realize the original question was posted almost 7 months ago, but I just recently learned something which may help in the future. My 2013 Limited allows me to just touch the radio power button when the car is shut off, and the radio will play. No need to put the switch (actually the button since I have the push button start) into the ACC mode. I believe the radio will stay on about 15 minutes or until a door is opened. I read this on an F150 forum and tried it on my Edge. It works great, nothing else turns on other than the radio. I don't know when this feature was incorporated or if it is model and option specific. All I can suggest is try it in your Edge by just pushing the radio power button.
  21. I have my second IA Fob hidden in the Edge under the tray in the center console. I have it at the very bottom and towards the front of the console. I can only unlock the vehicle using the keypad. It is a designed feature that the door sensors will not work if the IA Fob is inside the vehicle, only the keypad. Another feature supposedly is that if you were to lock the car and had the window open, you could reach in and unlock without using the keypad. If you did that, the car would not start from what I have read. I have not tried it, but it is supposed to be a theft deterrent when you keep the Fob in the car. Only using the keypad will allow it to start when the Fob is inside a locked car. This way if anyone breaks in the car will not start unless they enter the code into the keypad. Continue searching for the missing FOB inside the car, I think it is hidden in there because of the only way your car will start using the keypad for entry. Any way to contact the previous owner?
  22. I was able to pick up a 2013 Ford Service Manual on disc from a seller on eBay for a great price. Here is a copy of the manual instructions for initializing the roof motor. Hopefully this is what you are looking for. Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization WARNING: Keep objects and body parts clear of the glass panel when carrying out the initialization procedure. During the initialization procedure, the glass panel closes with high force and cannot detect objects in its path. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury. NOTE: New roof opening panel glass motor/shade motors must be initialized after installation. NOTE: A de-initialized glass or shade motor will stutter step open when operated from the roof opening panel control switch. Start the engine.Pull and hold the roof opening panel control switch until the sliding glass panel is in the fully CLOSED position. Release the control switch.Pull and hold the roof opening panel control switch until the sunshade panels are in the fully CLOSED position. Release the control switch.Pull and hold the roof opening panel control switch (for at least 21 seconds). For a new drive assembly, the sliding glass panel will move toward the front hard-stop, stall and then move backward a few millimeters and then forward. For an existing drive assembly, the sliding glass panel will move toward the front hard-stop and stall. The sunshade panels will move toward their front hard-stops, stall, move back a few millimeters, then forward. After the sunshade panels have finished moving backward and forward, release the roof opening panel control switch. NOTE: The roof opening panel control switch must be held during the entire initialization process or the sequence will be aborted and the roof will remain in a de-initialized state. Pull and hold the roof opening panel control switch. The sliding glass panel and sunshades will fully open together. Then, the sliding glass panel will close first and then the sunshades will return to the fully CLOSED position. When the sunshades have stopped moving, release the roof opening panel control switch. Initialization is now complete. Verify successful initialization by carrying out one-touch open, one-touch close, one-touch vent (glass) and one-touch open for the shades. If roof opening panel does not operate correctly, repeat Steps 2 through 5.
  23. That is what the hub centric rings are for that I mentioned IF you can find them in the correct size. They are usually made of a hard plastic or sometimes metal. They fit over your smaller hub bore and the outside diameter of them allow the larger hub size of the new wheel to be used. Here is a link to give you an idea of how they work. http://www.justforwheels.com/index.jsp?cat=hubcentric&sub=how&track=GHR
