Checking spare parts, the front coil springs are the same for all models including Limited & Sport. The difference is between FWD & AWD models. So if both your cars are FWD or AWD, then they should fine. It is the struts that are different to accommodate the 22" wheels. http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/edge/bt4z5310f/2011-year/sport-trim/3-7l-v6-gas-engine/front-suspension-cat/front-suspension-scat/?part_name=coil-spring

As far as I know, the seat back will never cool as much as the seat bottom. I suggest you repeat the test but keep one seat off (passenger or driver) and then compare the 2 sides. Remember that the seat bottom is open & more ventilated, hence will be more effective in cooling. The seat back is confined without sufficient ventilation as the back faces rear passengers.

Hi Stef, I am also in Qatar. The driver's door jamb should have the tire size & recommended inflation pressure. You might have missed it due to all the info written on it. Edit: I recheck mine &now I get why you didn't find it. The word "tire pressure" are in Arabic only. Look for the tire size, which I believe should be P265/40R22 Under it would be the rim size, 20X something, then under it AT space 35. The 35 being the tire pressure. They would be listed twice, for front & back.

Thanks for the FAQ,but of experience on my 2011 MKX & a close friend's 2013 Explorer here where we probably get the most extreme high temps in the summer, the IOLM was always consistent at 50% life after 5000 miles or 6 months. Even Ford recommends going to the 6 month 5k mile interval instead of just stating to follow the supposedly "smart" IOLM. It even surprises me how they don't even bother them selves in programming the IOLM in cars exported to our region for their recommended 5k/6-month intervals. Moral of the story, don't trust the intelligent part of the IOLM & use it as a simple meter. Want 5k intervals? Go for 50%. 4k 40%. And so on.

The Edge also offered a similar appearance package, maybe on the 2013-2014 Edge SEL: http://ahotop.com/images/ford-edge-2014-interior-3.jpg http://www.mikekukielka.com/gallery/d/68270-1/Ford+Edge+SEL+Appearance+Package.jpg

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
omar302 replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I have been using these Philips led backup leds for a while on my MKX and am very happy with them. They have that bluish factory LED look like factory LED revers lights & do in fact illuminate the back brighter while reversing. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00P2D41OQ/ref=psd_mlt_bc_B00P2D41OQ -
changed the tires and wheels, asking for opinions
omar302 replied to mueineddin's topic in Wheels & Tires
Of course handling will be worse, even without anything else being damaged. Going from 40 series wide tires to 65-series tires will make feel like the car is a bit sloppy with slower wheel reaction in turns. Don't forget also that you selected size is both narrower & higher than stock 18" tires (245/60/18 stock vs. 235/65/18). -
@Picturepro, forgot all about the ES300 Hybrid!
-
ES300 means it is a pre 2007 or 2005 model, right? If so, Lexus/Toyota did not have cooled/heated seats, only ventilated/heated seats. My father's 2013 ES350 also has cooled/heated seats, compared to my MKX, the Lexus seats are nosier & less cold.

I don't use an iPhone, with Android you can add your car's Bluetooth (Sync) as a trusted device & hence it would unlock if connected to it & lock when disconnect. Maybe there is something similar with the iPhone.

changed the tires and wheels, asking for opinions
omar302 replied to mueineddin's topic in Wheels & Tires
Original 18" tire size is 245/60 R18. But the size you selected is a little closer (in diameter) to the Sport 22" tire (265/40/22). http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator -
Sport Inner Headlighs
omar302 replied to anile_eight's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Not sure if this also applies to the 2015, but 2011-2014 (& 2011-2015 Explorer) with projector headlights (high & low beams that work through moving shield) work this way: If it were a halogen bulb, pulling the turn signal stalk (flash to pass) during day light (headlights off) will cause the high beams (bulb+sheild) to turn on for as long as you pull the stalk. For HID bulbs, during daytime (headlights off), pulling the stalk (flash to pass) will cause the high beams (HID bulb+sheild) to turn on for about 1 second regardless of how long (or short) you pull the stalk. Seems to be kind of a protection method to let the HID bulb work for a specific amount of time. It is understandable to have a minimum run time for protection, but it is annoying because you cant keep the high beams on for a longer time (like a long flash to pass). -
Fog Light Lens
omar302 replied to Dave Moen's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
As far as I know, the fog lights (on 2007-2010 Edge & 2007-2015 MKX) have glass lenses. Restoration kits are for plastic lenses. If does work for you, please tell us. -
We still didn't receive the new Edge. We'll probably going to get it as a 2016, skipping 2015 all together. I have a 2011 MKX which I'm seriously considering to trade up (or down?) to the 2016 Edge Sport. Still waiting for it to be launched here & know the final prices. Usually they really mark them up considerably.

@Vadimus, Might have been a mid 2015 model change that was reflected as a new feature for 2016. Here are the specs for a March build Titanium with 301/302 package:
-
Another design point of view might be because the 2.0L is weaker, so at highway speeds the wind drag have higher effect than on the more powerful V6. Also, as far as I know, the transmission on the 2.0 has different ratios, so the slightly reduced drag at highway speed has a bigger impact on the 2.0 (with its tranny ratios) than on the 3.5/2.7L with their transmission ratios.
-
As per the 2016 Order Guide, the side front row is a new addition for 2016 on Titanium & Sport. The Acoustic Windshield is now also standard on the SE for 2016 (meaning for 2016 all models get it as standard).

Hyunda vs. Ford. vs. Subaru vs....
omar302 replied to mjonis's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
@mjonis, just some notes: The Edge can be equipped with remote start via smartphone. Sync3 is not confirmed to get Android Auto and/or Apple CarPlay. It is being said that it will, but unless you find a clear statement from Ford that Sync3 will include them or that it will be updated to include them, don't count on it. If you are considering the V6 Murano, did you consider the V6 SantaFe & Edge? Did you check the Kia Sonata? It is based on the same SantaFe platform (AFAIK). -
The 2011+ Edge/MKX (most if not all Fords probably the same) have battery savers that would turn off your headlights and/or interior lights if forgotten on after about 10 minutes, except for the parking lights and hazard warning flasher. So your battery should not completely die if you leave the headlights on.

Even with 2007-2014, roof rack was never available on Vista roof equipped Edge/MKX. Some members easily installed them on their vista equipped Edge, but Ford has a reason not offer it. I recall one member here stated that some rock hit his vista roof & broke it and that the rack was what caused the rock to deflect towards the roof.

2015 FORD EDGE SPORT FINALLY BEING BUILT
omar302 replied to baseball's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
For 2016, the Edge Sport is AWD only, so your Sport is gonna be a rare vehicle. Would be nice to know how does an AWD compare to a FWD in 0-60 & 1/4 mile. -
Just to make it clear, after pressing the button did you drive ahead until you found a spot but the car did not recognize it? I don't have a 2015, but as far as I know, you first press the button then move forward to find a spot. If you already found a spot (the front bumper already passed the rear car), the system would start scanning for an another spot. Also, remember that one press is for parallel parking & 2 presses for perpendicular reverse parking.

If you check the Canadian order guide, the roof rails are not available with 301/302, even though BAMR is not included with 301/302 (unlike US specs).
-
KnickerBocker, the order guide you attached does indeed state that you can't get the roof rails with 301 or 302 packages even though the pano is not part of those packages. I believe it's an error when making the Canadian guide, they missed that the pano roof is NOT part of the 301/302 packages like in the US configuration.
