The bumper protector is made of thick plastic, it would be difficult for the heat to reach the 3m tape without damaging the protector.

Yes, it is the same one. Amazon lists is as not fitting to the Edge because it is designed & made for the Scion. If you decide to get it, just make sure during installation that both corners/sides (the extended lip going down) are pressed to the bumper before sticking the upper portion. I did it the other way around & started from one end, eventually leaving a gap at the other end. The 3M table is very strong that it feels like the paint would come out if I tried to pull it off.

Checking Owners Manuals in Ford Owners site, the 2016 Edge has Sync 3 in the SYNC Quick Reference Guide. Hopefully it is an indication of Sync 3 coming on the 2016 Edge. On the other hand, the 2016 Edge Quick Reference Guide Printing 1 (PDF) shows Sync 2! https://owner.ford.com/tools/account/how-tos/owner-manuals.html

P0456 - Evaporative Emissions System - Small leak detected

As per Ford's website, the Edge Sport can tow up to 2000 lbs in standard. You cannot get the optional tow package which would increase capacity to 3500 lbs. Why is it not available on the Sport? Probably a marketing strategy! The '11-14' Edge Sport also did not offer the Tow Package, but that was probably due to the 22" wheels. Note that also the base Edge (SE) does not offer the Tow Package. http://www.ford.com/crossovers/edge/specifications/towing/

I live in the Middle East, but the video is not! We didn't even get the 2015 Edge yet.

17" Rims From '07 On '13 That Runs 20's Now ???
omar302 replied to ExNascarDood's topic in Wheels & Tires
As far as I remember, bolt pattern & offset should match, but they have a different hub size. '07-'10 & '11-'14 have different hub sizes. Don't remember which is smaller & which is bigger. -
Probably to reduce chances of spammers registering & sending PMs.

New DRL Bulbs
omar302 replied to built2prfctn's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
@built2prfctn So much better afterwards. Thanks for posting. May I ask, does your Sport have factory HID? If yes, do the high beams side of the DRL function? The owners manual states that the high beams for HID equipped Edge is the same D3S of the low beam (meaning bi-xenon with a moving shield), so this leaves the high beam side of the DRL (H15 bulb) for what? For flash-to-pass or they are always off? -
There is a TSB for the same symptoms, the HVAC would require reprogramming. TSB 11-8-7 attached. TSB 11-8-7_Unable to maintain Temp old.pdf

2015 EDGE and HIDS

This is for a Volvo, but you get an idea of how to install H9s in place of H11s. -
I have a different Camera issue, dealer said they will replace the camera to resolve it. Basically, my problem is that the camera would become very noisy (grainy) at night if I had been driving for a while and the weather was hot. Shutting off the car for ~2 minutes & restarting, the Camera would become clear. Same place, same time, same lighting. Before shutting off the engine: After shutting off, ~2 minutes & restart: Video I made, non stop shooting: https://youtu.be/547oSfgPJZs

Please correct me if I'm wrong, my understanding with "Smart Charging" is that if the battery does not need charging (or if the system detects so), then the charging system would NOT charge the battery. If that's the case, wouldn't the voltage drop?

Add nav to a 2011 with myford touch?
omar302 replied to tknice's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Someone came up with a way to enable it on non-Nav equipped vehicles (for ~$500): http://www.fordpimods.com/navigation-mft.html -
I would say it's the blend door actuator for the driver's side.

Got pictures of them? Especially the tears?

Just for info, this video shows the oem cargo shade (roller type) for the 2015 Edge. @ ~ 6:20 https://youtu.be/aP60qT-yEH0

They are front & rear fog lamp indicators. The same cluster is used in other Ford products that might have them. So you'll never see them turn on on the Edge, at least for the current model.

2015 Edge - First Year Model Problems?
omar302 replied to alzakx's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Actually, the 2015 Edge is a totally brand new design. It has a completely new platform that is not related to the older generation, only the 3.5L V6 is carried over.- 37 replies

Wiring for Paddle Shifters - Sport & non-Sport
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Yes, the diagram shows like that. But still, don't want to open up the dash & steering column unless I know what I will be doing or what to find. -
Seat Filter for Cooled Seats - Design Changed!
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Actually, comparing the 2, the new one feels more expensive except for the missing filter element (which does feel very cheap anyway). -
Yesterday I purchased a replacement filter for the cooled seat & was surprised that it is no longer a filter! It is just a plastic piece with holes in it (assuming to protect from larger items to enter). Searching online, I found it was indeed a Motorcraft/Ford design change, but couldn't find any technical reasons for it. http://www.f150forum.com/f38/oem-seat-filters-missing-element-288462/ You can see the Old vs. New pictures attached. Front: Back: Reading in several 2015 Ford Owners Manuals such as the 2015 Edge's, it seems they are "Lifetime Filters"! Anyone know of an official reason for the change or inside info? I am no Expert, but looking at how older cars never had Cabin Air Filters & with their climate control systems working for many years without problems, I wouldn't expect any problems from these "replacements". Also, note that the replacement "part" is made out of sturdy plastic that is hard to bend, while the old filter was very flimsy & just had "nylon net" holding the filter element. Theoretically, I think the older design could have allowed damage to the fan (which is just behind the filter) if someone were to "stuff" something under the seat.

Did you try the Dimmer Panel Switch or re-calibrating it? From the Owners Manual:
