  1. Any updated TSB for this? The smells seems to have come back, or become more apparent recently.
  2. Since my turn signal stalk has been sticking lately, today I replaced it with a new one. I used the part number for a 2013/2014 Edge/MKX instead of the 2011/2012 part number. I checked beforehand and all other part numbers behind the steering wheel were the same, so I thought it must work, and it worked. The reason for different part numbers, I believe, is that 2011/2012 models have both the flash to pass & high beam on/off functions by pulling the stalk. 2013/2014, have pull for flash to pass and push for high beam on/off. Also the 2013/2014 part is cheaper & is now smooth to operate with a clear second detent for the turn signals. This is the part I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111552985755 Edit: I just realized that the signals don't work properly, it only blinks 3 times either way, left or right. The turn signal is not going into the full turn signal mode. Need to investigate it a little.
  3. In the Explorer forums, many members found out that if a car charger is left plugged in the center console, it would adversely affect the remote's operation. Maybe it is something similar?
  4. Thanks, I did the same as you did, used this switch & used 3m double sided tape to stick the switch to the windshield at the top, just below the headliner. Does 90% of what I need as the rear dome light & cargo lights don't bother me at all.
  5. Though I have a MKX, but the MyTemp button does NOT illuminate. Only the button on the touchscreen is highlighted if MyTemp is selected. I'd guess it is the same with the Edge.
  6. I thought newer Fords have a 45 minute idle timer that turn off the engine if left idle that long.
  7. Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) Restraint System. It indicates that an anchor is present there.
  8. For sure the wheels also have an impact on ride harshness.
  9. Yours is a Sport, right? Sport models have a stiffer suspension that will definitely make the ride harsher.
  10. The Edge shows 2016 model info. It even states that clearly as "2016".
  11. Make sure you get the SoundScreen window. Base & SEL have a regular window while Limited & Sport got the dual panel version for sound isolation.
  12. I don't have a 2015/2016, but I'd say this disables the "Lock/Unlock" button from being operational when vehicle is locked. I think this would be useful to prevent the doors from being opened if a window is left open or was broken. To prevent an intruder from opening the door by pressing the unlock button from inside the car while it is locked.
  13. Thanks MAC for the reply, you stated earlier that there was difference between both Edges you got, that's what caught my attention & thought you might have resolved it. So after cleaning do they both now act the same way?
  14. Sorry for bringing this up, somehow accidently, your post came up & it is interesting as I think I feel the same with MKX as you describe (very sensitive throttle). Having only my car as a reference, never thought it was an issue. Did you eventually sort it out or find why do you have this difference?
  15. Might be a good idea to indicate what Edge you have. Year & trim level, new/used? if used what's the mileage? Generally speaking, the brakes are good on the Edge.
  16. I am not really audiophile person. They all sound good. But I also didn't try the 2016 MKX. It's just too expensive! Both the MKX as a car & the Revel audio option.
  17. Here is an article about the system on the 2008 MKX.
  18. The 3.5 V6 can tow 3500 pounds when properly equipped from the factory. The towing package includes upgraded cooling fans & an upgraded radiator.
  19. I remember reading that for best snow wheels, the smallest stock wheel size is always better, in case of the Edge, that would be 17" or 18". Just a thought.
  20. I was surprised that the part requires the complete rear glass to be changed. But it does seem to be an assembly! Though its not for $700!
  21. Probably not possible, and if I recall correctly, at least for the fobs with remote start, the frequency is different.
  22. Blind spot definitely wont work as it also needs sensors at the rear for detection. As for the signal lights, I don't believe anyone tried it before, best way to check is disconnect the mirror wiring in your Edge & see how many wires are used & if there are any unused connectors on the vehicle side. If all wires/connectors are used, then you'll need to run your own wires for them.
  23. It is mentioned briefly on page 377. Maybe since 2011 was its first year it was implemented correctly or on earlier builds, though mine is a May 2011 build.
  24. Both options have pro/con, the best option is for the vehicle to offer both. I have seen it in a Chrysler minivan & a older 200. One has a battery logo on the 12 volt cover & the other has a key (if I remember correctly).
  25. As per the manual & the source book, the 2011 has the IOLM. Maybe setting it to any thing other than 100% would remove the intelligent part & switch to mileage based monitoring.
