I fear I sound like a broken record. Keep driving it until the TSS and OSS fail completely then the dealer will know what the problem is. Your mileage is right in the sweet spot.
-
Won't show anything hard as far as code until complete failure.

Which sensor? ABS, Stability, Wrench on/off.

You should be able to at least get under there and look for a physical defect (broken tone ring or missing tooth or even something caught in between the teeth. IF that is not fruitful it could be the sensor is bad so check it (them) at this point you would need to check for ground and power. After that you could check using a scan tool equipped with a scope but that is getting above and beyond the average DIY'er and diagnostics. Sort of suck since if it is a tone ring the only way to get a new one is by purchasing a new axle. -
The 3.5 has an internal water pump. The weep hole and seal has been known to fail. When the seal fails it can allow the coolant to leak. Instead of leaking out and going to the external route out of the engine it all flows into the oil pan and then mixes with the oil. This can lead to a complete failure of the engine due to water mixing with the oil and reducing the lubricating effectiveness of the engine. if you were to investigate this you would find this is the case in your situation. This video is two parts but if you watch them both you will see how this happens. This one is a Ford Flex but the same engine.

Both drive pretty much the same. No real differences. Most I think it was me having to get used to the 2011 after jumping from the way the 2008 drove.

Cleaned the TB seems to be the nature of the beast as far as how the engine operates and gets fuel. Found out it is somewhat inherent to the design. The system cuts fuel to the engine when the throttle is not depressed and this causes some minor engine braking which is what i was feeling on top of it all the alternator kicks in when decelerating to grab some of the engine momentum to recharge the battery. All in all it is designed this way for the most part. I have since grown accustom to the way it drives and have never had an issue.

Before? During? or after? or All three? Thinking I might not wash it. Just bang it out and replace then see how far it goes on that method.

Trans change definitely. Plugs are also due. Belts both the power steering stretchy belt and serpentine. Brake fluid purged and replaced. Power steering fluid replaced. Coolant if it is 5 years old yes change. If you need videos go to the youtube and facebook pages listed in my signature. Or I have tons of them posted on the forum here.

Go to MACTFORDEDGE on Youtube plenty of videos to help you work on your Edge and save some money.
-
The edge most likely has a 1000lbs disadvantage to the little legacy, plus other factors like ride height figure into the whole equation. Plus you ponied up from 170 or so HP to nearly 315hp Legacy has 60-0 stopping distance of 121 ft on average to a 134 ft on average for the Edge which weighs more. More weight more distance. No way around that part of the physics exam.

So jiffy lube or your dealer says change the air filter because it looks dirty?

Not aware of any unless after market suspension components have been installed.

When you remove the CAT you will get a CEL maybe not right away but you will get a CEL. It changes the back pressure then taxes the fuel air management system.
-
That was a pretty incompetent mechanic.

I am going to have to say if your transmission failed after a complete fluid replacement, It had already failed you just did not know it.
-
144,000 on my 2011 Edge, running strong.
-
The brake fluid can absorb water and destroy the system from the inside out.
-
Sounds like you are tearing into the transmission this weekend and replacing the TSS and OSS sensors. Classic symptoms of failure.
-
If you are having these issues the question is what is the condition of your oil and is it being changed on a regular basis. VVT do not like dirty oil or heavy viscosity oil. Also the plugs, when changed what miles are on them as this could be a precursor to the PCM failure. Are all cylinders firing or is there a regular miss on them or some? the plugs can miss up to a point before a misfire code is set also.
-
I would recommend a transmission fluid complete change. I have posted several video's on this subject. Also you are way over due a brake fluid replacement. Last but not least a full Mercon V power steering fluid change yes it will use the same fluid as the transmission. Made a video on how to to all this so it is simple. You can do all this for under 250 dollars easily and that is if you have a garage do the transmission flush.

Just installed these LED and LASER puddle lights that definately work for the 2011+ models and assuming for the 2007+ with puddle lights. Check them out with the FORD logo projected to the ground.

A video on the 3.5 Duratec under the hood with lighting showing the movement and sounds while normal driving and Wide Open Throttle. Good way to see if the motor mounts and transmission torque mount are working correctly.
