  1. Pull each sensor connector and check for corrosion.
  2. Don't think these pads were designed to fit plastic oil pans anyway.
  3. Well if that's 12k miles, that car has seen a lot of back Texas roads. lol. If you haven't installed it yet, can you slap a tape measure on it and let me know what the dimentions are?
  4. Got curious and checked. You're absolutely right. They are pressurized (my cap is marked 16 psi) and the service manual talks about crud getting between the gasket and how to clean. (Replace if cracked or failed). And if leaking, can cause loss of coolant as OP described. Learn something new every day. Thanks for chiming in.
  5. Looks great! Now you need chrome door handles.
  6. PTU = Puke-up Tactical Unit. It's a black box that sits in the middle of Ford & Lincoln automobile powertrain, that came equipped with an option called AWD (which is an acronym for "Acute Watery Diarrhea") and when the time is jussssssssst right, trashes itself.
  7. Using your analogy, I'm nearly 144 years old.
  8. Service reps come and go, not really important. Their job is to get you checked in and push extra service such as wiper blades, tires, etc. Your best bet to ask to speak the either the Service Manager or a technician.
  9. Believe it was added in on an update, perhaps they just installed the unit without updating the software.
  10. Guess I'm confused. Doesn't the coolant resevoir vent to the exterior? If so, the only function the cap would have is to keep the dirt out. What am I missing, can't seem to see what part the cap would play in loosing coolant?
  11. It's not, it's only a recommendation. One way to be certain is to drain a small amount of coolant and test one or twice a year. The important part is to make certain that the coolant doest go acid as it ages.
  12. Ford builds cars. It's the suppliers who design and build the add-ons. The map software is produced by HERE maps and the DO have a procedure for sending in edits. I've done it twice. In order to just "hit a button" the navigation unit would need to be a full computer, with a specific i/o function dedicated to just this purpose. Used what, once a year? If you go onto the HERE website you will find the method for making edits on their maps. As far as why so long, I called HERE and it's not them, it's Ford. Appearently Ford has decided to switch venders for the map software. But then that's not comfirmed either. .
  13. I buy mine on Amazon. Cheaper and better selection. Normally I buy the ATP brand with carbon. Couple of years ago I went with OEM. On my filter, I didn't see any difference in number of pleats over aftermarket.
  14. One other possibly is to have the dealer do it while it's up.on the hoist for an oil change. My dealer told me they don't stock the foam, but if I were to bring it in, they would spray it into the evaporator drain while it's up there.
  15. Looks like it's been in there awhile. (Either that or its a charcol filter). When I change mine, I also spray mine with PuraClean electrostatic filter spray. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0145I072I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_R-GRAb22YG2FP
  16. Lubricating the power seat mechanics https://youtu.be/d8nwt1_mG7M From Sweet Project Cars Here's the grease he used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U1TLXC4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_lHfRAb2ZTH05B Here's the dry lube: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AF0ODGM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_IIfRAbGNQ1SK6
  17. I deleted what I originally wrote, the warranty does indeed look like it's just another Ford dealer selling on line. (I now believe I was wrong, should have read the site closer). What's curious is the cut off for this dealer is the avaliablity the 2012 model year or later, and for vehicles with less than 55k miles (I have a 09 mkx and over 100k miles and just bought the 3 year, powertrain warranty late last year). I'll leave the rest of the post as it's still pertant. Here's Ford ESP http://www.zeiglerfordesp.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1q3VBRCFARIsAPHJXrEF3KQ8l8Iac5QFBFbY5yOlKl3dw0ZR3gRIMHSVHqQSJK_qI4k4VzIaAkizEALw_wcB https://www.floodfordesp.com/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw1q3VBRCFARIsAPHJXrH4bhR4tBog0r06oGRL7GgHxc5TQLEkgZvFNHqFVOgSqhgil1B9Xt4aAv6AEALw_wcB (This is the official Ford warranty website -it takes forever to load, was written in MyFordSync language) https://fordprotect.ford.com/extended-service-plan
  18. Could I interest you in a good radar detector......?
  19. If you're unable to get one, next time your at your dealer, have the service rep look it up and print you a copy. They will be happy to do it.
  20. Welllll, yes. The MKX is hand-built by a select team of experts, who have had 2-1/2 years training. Each averages 20 years experience in production and nearly all of which have aquire the union status of "craftsman".The Edge is built in a garage on 4th Street by a bunch of high school trade students who get paid $12.50 /hr. The Fusion and MKZ (that should probably read MKzzzzzzzzz) are built in a Goodwill parking lot, by recovering addicts who live in a half-way house and eat bologna sandwiches for breakfast. .
  21. If you have the manual climate control, I would suspect the blower motor resistor as failing.
  22. Lot of talk over in the Ford truck forum about 2016 models and grooved rotors. One guy reported he talked to a service technician and he told him that Ford switched to "much harder material" on the pads, due to "issues in the previous generations". Here's the link: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1441846-2016-front-brake-rotor-grooves.html
  23. It's probaby Dean Winters hiding under there. Insure you car with Allstate and it will go away.
  24. They talked about larger tires over in the 150 forum, threw off OEM navigation. Nav units telling them to turn AFTER he passed his turn. It then recalculated the route. One fella recommended disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes, then take it out for a drive. Said his friend's odometer was off (reading slow) and the truck relearned the new tires.
  25. Would it help if you lowered the seat diwn prior to entry/exiting?
