Replace Standard Radio with Nav Radio?
enigma-2 replied to Jeb_66's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
No doubt there are less expensive ways to go, but if go with these people, you get everything, including programming, GPS, navagation disk, instructions and a guarantee. https://www.infotainment.com/collections/all/products/2007-2008-ford-edge-gps-navigation-radio -
Ack yes, I had it basackwards. The car came with gold and they switched out to green. Appearently it affects 2007-2009 Edge's and MKXs.
-
How did you discover it failing? My local dealer discovered that my mkx still had green coolant and (very) strongly recommended changing. This was around 82k if I remember correctly. Said the green wasn't sufficient to prevent corrosion in the water pump and heater core. (Something Ford discovered after my 09 was built). Service agent said changing by the manual was sufficient, I asked to speak with the technician and he said that he would change at 30k intervals.

Is the liftgate opening height adjustable on a 2011 Limited
enigma-2 replied to topdri68's topic in Exterior & Body
Mine measures 72-1/2". I was able to push it up to 75-1/2". (My old struts still open ok, but probably need replacing ad they can't get the liftgate all the way up). What does your liftgate measure when open? -
2011 Edge 3.5L - Strange Noise when Applying Torque
enigma-2 replied to SweetCandyEdge's topic in 3.5L
Could be several itemp based on your description. Start by isolating: while slowing down (and making sound), take the car out of drive. This will eliminate sounds coming from the engine (power steering pump, and belt would be suspicious). If it continues, brakes, rotors, pads, transmission and ptu. -
Slow seatbelt retractors 13 SEL
enigma-2 replied to normcloutier's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
The simple answer is both yes and no. There are different types of silicone lubricants. The oil based types can stain clothing. The dry types are generally safe. If your concerned, first try cleaning your seat belts with Woolite. Getting the dirt and oil out should help the retraction speed. I think the use of a dry silicone will work better (and an easier fix). Could always wipe down the belt after spraying it. Or follow Vega's suggestion of just spraying just the first half of the belt. (Again, there are different types of silicone lubricants. Avoid the oil based). -
Not certain on the edge, on the 2017 Mustang, blue is ground (MirrorTap black), yellow is positive (MirrorTap red). Don't forget to use the zip tie to add strain relief.

One possible negative aspect to using different brands of motor oils in the same engine at the same time is to provide an over abundance of certain additives. Here's a good article from Popular Mechanics on motor oil. You might find the paragraph titled "More is Not Better" explains this better. 2013 Edge rear suspension creaking
enigma-2 replied to brewman84's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I'm a firm believer in, you get what you pay for. Mooge, Motorcraft and the like, you know that you're buying quality and warranty. Mevotech's 5 year warranty is to retailers only, what your retailer decides to offer you may only be 6 months. Some people report no problems after 2 years, one wrote he will never buy again. -
One if mine has auto-forget. Or maybe it just goes to sleep. Good part is, it wakes up and relearn's in about 20 miles.

Can't tell exactly, is this what your looking for? https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Edge-Custom-Front-Grille-2015-Onwards/282840295124?hash=item41da9866d4:g:N6gAAOSwdTJafFvn

I don't know, little more chrome or whatnot. Was thinking of adding a Harley kickstand. Make it unique. What do you think?

Curious. How old is your vehicle battery. It almost sounds like a low voltage condition.

This site explains Florida warranties a little more. https://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com/ford-esp-florida.cfm -
"Cracking knuckles"? Sounds like strut tower bushings. They can size and not rotate, forcing the spring to jump from point-to-point instead of rotating smoothly. As above, new struts, bushings and shocks.

I've read that the John Deere LA-105 & 115 series are manufactured at Greeneville, Tennessee plant. I know the units sold at big box stores are not the same as the LA series sold by dealers; Home Depot, Lowes and the like each have their own specifications.

On Simplicity you press it once and it stays connected. Light on dash to remind it set to on.

Whow. This is a 2017? I'm stunned. Went out and looked at my 09 and no rust. Should be covered under new car warranty.

I honestly dont remember who the three Ford dealers were, I Googled and these three had forms you fill out online. As far as "non-negotiatable", that's his starting position. Take him three quotes (or just one) showing a lower bid. He'll reopen the bidding. He knows he will have to match or lose the sale. Doesn't matter who you buy from, any Ford dealer can sell the Ford extended warranty at any price he wants and all Ford dealers will honor it. As to what's covered, my MKX had 115,000 on it when I bought this warranty (my 2nd extended warranty) and this one just coveres the powertrain (engine, transmission, ptu, axles, a few other things like road service, etc. I can do any service I choose, but like any warranty, they will not cover any screwups I make. I usually take it to the dealer, but change my own filters, etc. I mainly bought this warranty to cover the PTU (they changed it on the last extended warranty), and the water pump. Big stuff. . -
You can buy a new one on Ebay for $600 and have a local shop put it in. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F183077529543
