  1. Using a DVD it still takes an hour to install. There are a lot of factors concerning a WiFi connection, noise can slow a connection way down, distance from the router, construction, etc.It would be nice, but I would question that these speeds are practical in real world. But they intend to update via wireless for sync, so who knows?
  2. I believe it means "Break in circuit for interior temperature sensor".
  3. Good to hear. Please let us know how this turns out. Best of luck.
  4. I can't see doing this via a download. The software is on 2 disks, say 1 gig of data. Can you imagine how long a download would take? More likely it will come out on a 2 gig USB memory card. More likely, the concerns relate to preventing piracy. Update once and sell on ebay. Probably developing a method to link the installation to a single serial number of one ACU and block from use on any other nav unit.
  5. As glass breakage is not covered under the Ford warranty, consider contacting your insurance company as it's probably covered under your comprehensive policy.
  6. One item on this comes to mind, not that anyone here would be affected, but there are thousands of cars involved in floods down south that are reemerging on sales lots are reduced prices. Just something to keep in the back of one's mind.
  7. Check fuse #10 in the passenger compartment fuse panel.

    She’s dead :(

Less miles almost always. Buy the Ford warranty.
  9. A little over a year ago I remember reading some reports about this hotter bulb causing crazing and fogging on the inside of the housing. Wasn't an Edge or MKX, (forget which brand it was) but the thread had two or three reporting same problem. Never read anyone reporting this on an a Edge housing however.
  10. Perhaps something like this which adverties protection against acid rain? https://www.cilajet.com/
  11. Found a video, not really your engine but it's for the noise. Does yours sound like this?
  12. Kinda sounds like the timing chain developed slack and rattles on start up until the tensioners take the load. Think there is a TSB covering this.
  13. I would imagine we could if the stick was long enough. Here's the video I was referring to.
  14. Have you checked your tranny oil level? When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid?
  15. Seen a video on YouTube where a fellow taped a toothbrush to a stick and used it to reach down into the resovior and clean the two sensor elements at the bottom of the resovior.
  16. Yes, new unit, installed by Ford dealer, and under current extended powertrain warranty. (I verified this). As far service, they offered to replace the fluid for $150 (he was thinking that they had to drop it and pour out the lubricant), I objected and got them down to $80 per change.
  17. Mine as well, but his sensor may be coated and needs depth to get it to register (if it can register. Sensor elements may need to be cleaned or changed).
  18. I know that you need to nearly completely refill the washer bottle to turn off the light. Don't think there's a reset, supposed to reset automatically when you refil. Also you can damage the sensor by using Rain-X washer fluid (or any fluid that beads up on the windshield). These fluids coat the two sensor elements and the sensor thinks the tank is perpetually low. (Have to pull the sensor and clean the tabs with Dawn Dishwashing soap).
  19. Back in 2015 the service agent came to me during an oil change and told me they found the seal PTU was leaking. (Nothing on tbe garage floor, had no idea). I THOUGHT they said that they were going to replace the seal. Today however, we were looking over the car's service record (I was asking about replacing the fluid) and found they had actually replaced the PTU at 95k. As it was under the extended warranty, I never seen the bill. (That alone paid the cost of the warranty). Today they told me that they do not service the PTU (I remember them telling me at the time it would be just the seal and cost ~$400 with me paying the $100 deductible). So one more for extended warranties. The service agent also told me they did not recommend my scheduling a flush until it hits 30k miles. Said a waste of money as it's designed to go life (of original warranty). He said they use the differential machine to suck out the old fluid. (Lincoln extended warranty runs out in Dec 2020).
  20. My dealer told me they cannot do the programming as the car did not ship with it. There are other ways however; the easiest is a $150 programming module (don't have the reference in front of my right now). As for a camera, any good camera will work, plan on spending $80 for a metal case and glass lens with decent dpi.
  21. Could that be a mercury switch to trigger on a hood open event? Or perhaps the antenna? I don't know for certain, but perhaps the under hood switch only works with the engine start security system?
  22. I'm here at my local Lincoln dealer getting a piece of trim replaced, thought to ask the service manager about the difference between the AWD and the 4WD. He said the are the same (mostly), both have a PTU, but the only big difference is, the Intelligent 4WD has a switch to turn it off. It's mostly in software as to how it engages. The service rep spoke up and said he has an Escape and it can get a little "squirrelly" at times, not perfected yet.
  23. I read in Car and Driver that the 2017 Escape 4WD can send 100% of the torque to either the front or rear axles. An AWD system can't do that of course. Here's a link to the issue, http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/refreshed-2017-ford-escape-first-drive-review
