15 edge not recognizing bluetooth
enigma-2 replied to ClaytonL's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
In the electric copy of the 2015 OM I've seen, it was on page 366. (Also make certain that the car is in park when you are attempting to connect). -
"draining water from ac line"? Are you saying that you opened the sealed system and drained it, or that you drained water from the hvac housing? If the first, you released all of the refigerent and will need to get the system recharged. If the second, there no corrolation between unclogging the condenser housing drain and the failure of the AC system (unless you somehow punctured the refigerent lines somehow). Have you checked the fuses? What exactly did you do?

I searched the forum to see if anyone else had posted pix or site info and didn't get a hit. My apologies if I missed the post. (A few pix have been posted in the MKX forum). This site is showing 18 photos of the 2019 Lincoln MKX. Grill change, headlights look to be in two rows, new taillights. Side view looks similar to the 2016, 2017 imo. https://www.motor1.com/news/149767/2019-lincoln-mkx-restyle-caught/

How old is your battery? (Thinking that the battery is getting low on electrolyte allowing the battety to overheat and drop voltage). -
I bought a lubtricheck oil tester mainly to check my oil for signs of coolant. Used it for the first time tonight, checked the wife's car. Got a blinking red light indicating that the oil was dirty and needs changing. (No surprise there, been 9 months). Checked mine, has <5k on the oil, but it also read that it needs changing (but no coolant in the oil - yea). Checked it using brand new synthetic and it read 1-green indicating new oil. Plan on checking Simplicity Lawn Tractor this weekend and the standby emergency generator. This little meter lives up to its hype. You start by ensuring that the test grid is completely clean. I wiped it clean with a paper towel and then wiped it with an alcohol wipe. Set it to either gas or diesel, turn it on and it calibrates itself. You then put approx 5 drops of engine oil from the dipstick, on the test grid. Press the test button and in a few seconds you get a reading of the condition of the oil and whether there are other contaminants (like coolant) in the oil. Takes all the guesswork out of when to change the oil. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HBAG9AC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hCUxzbFF5EP1X Looks like it's not on Amazon any more, here's the maufacturers website. http://www.lubricheck.com/ Addl note, went back and checked again today (got reading the instructions after test (((yes I know))) and got an 8-fair. Apparently I checked it while the oil was still warm. The instructions 《clearly》 state that the oil is to be at the same temperature as the tester. Still it's time to change.

20", sorry. I use an Android - fingers too big, keys too small.

Chrome trim with redish-brown discoloration streaks. (Not rust). Tried everything, vinigar, bug & tar remover, various metal polishes, everything I could find. Stain seem to be embedded into the chrome surface. Finally tried Bar Keeps Friend. Made a thin paste and let it set for about a minute, maybe a little more. Wiped it off and the stubborn stain was gone.

Silly question, was reading in another forum where a fella changes his tires each summer & winter (18" winter, 29" summer), and it throws off his nav system. He takes it to the dealer who disconnects the battery and resets the system. Everything is OK after that. Anyone have any thoughts as to why?

Add me to the "check charging system" notification
enigma-2 replied to TheFloppyWeasel's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Sounds like a diode failed. It's been discussed here before, there is a piece of test equipment that can check both the status of the battery and check the state of the charging system. The meter is a Solar BA7 SOLAR BA7 100-1200 CCA Electronic Battery and System Tester https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015PI7A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_6CwxzbXRPSBK1 -

An old Pilot sat down in Starbucks and ordered a cup of coffee. As he sat sipping his coffee, a young woman sat down next to him. She turned to the pilot and asked, Are you a real pilot? He replied, Well, I've spent my whole life flying biplanes, Cubs, Aeroncas, Neiuports, flew in WWII in a B-29, and later in the Korean conflict, taught 50 people to fly and gave rides to hundreds, so I guess I am a pilot what about you? She said, Im a lesbian. I spend my whole day thinking about naked women. As soon as I get up in the morning, I think about naked women. When I shower, I think about naked women When I watch TV, I think about naked women. It seems everything makes me think of naked women. The two sat sipping in silence. A little while later, a young man sat down on the other side of the old pilot and asked, Are you a real pilot? He replied, I always thought I was, but I just found out I'm a lesbian.

Blendmount For Edge Radar Detector Installation

My mistake. On my 09 MKX there are a series of dots that effectively block the laser function of the Max 2. Personally I wouldn't want to lose the ability of using the sunvisors. -
You can have anyone perform the required service, even yourself, if you follow the written instructions in your owner's manual. For 2016 it reads in part "Carefully following the maintenance schedule helps protect against major repair expenses resulting from neglect or inadequate maintenance and may help to increase the value of your vehicle when you sell or trade it. Keep all receipts for completed maintenance with your vehicle."Remember, it's up to you to prove that you performed the maintenance at the proper time, and that it met Ford's requirements as published in the service manual.

To hell with the hugs and tissues. Sounds to me like you need a couple of Golden Margarita's. ? -
After the drain clogged, the water in the housing sometimes starts to turn moldly. Even though you drain the water out, the mold remains. A good product for eliminating any remaining mold is Kool-It. It's cheap and easy to use. Here's where you can find it on Amazon. Lubegard 96030 Kool-It Evaporator and Heater Foam Cleaner https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0007PHD0S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ehbxzbND266P2 And here's a Youtube video on how to use it. https://youtu.be/Bi22mdXj3wM

Anyone notice that they are switching to all-aluminum beds? Ha. Same aluminum beds they criticized Ford for using. The dumped in a loaded toolbox, edge first to show that the toolbox punched a hole in the aluminum bed, but not in their steel bed. Annnnnnnnddddd now their going to aluminum. Heh, heh, heh. "How sweeeeeet it is". (aka Jackie Gleason). -
Navigation upgrade runs around $800. Here's a site that can help point you in the right direction. https://www.4dtech.com/11-14-ford-edge-navigation-kit-for-myford-touch-systems/ Two more things, one abut fluids, change the coolant first. (Most important with the 3.5/3.7L engines). If you have AWD have the PTU lubricant drained and replaced as soon as possible. 36k is a good interval (maintenance manual states it doesn't need to be changed, but it's 36k for severe service). Also look for early stages of seal failure after 50k (have service dept check at each oil change). Change seal as soon as a leak detected. If you have around 90k, change the plugs. (Very important). And while you have the manifolds off, change the PVC valve as well.

Blendmount For Edge Radar Detector Installation

Mounting it near the sun visor will put it behind the coating at the top of the windshield. This will attenuate part of the signal and dramatically shorten tbe reception range.
