Edge turns over several times, doesn’t start,,,
enigma-2 replied to kapk22's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Doubt it's the filter (internal to the tank). You need to pull the codes and see what's stored. Often can do this at a local auto parts store, O'Reilly, Auto Zone, etc. -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Could be so many things. The best start is to check for stored codes. Based on age, I would suspect either the fuel pump or its relay. When you first turn the key (run, not start) do you hear the fuel pump running? If yes, check valve may be leaking and fuel prime lost. If no, turn off and on again. Running now? -

Righr. And while you're at it, eliminate the owners manual and let them figure out Sync on their own. (Doesn't it bring a smile just thinking about a blonde trying to turn on the wipers without a manual)? -
Ahhhh, I may have reached an embroidered conclusion. Perhaps "wise, experienced, strong and leaky" would better describe our circumstance. (I hated Warfarin when I was on it. Cuts were fun ...)

(I know it's old, just seen it and thought I'd respond in case someone else mistook its meaning). "Convoy" is a transport company. They hull for GM, Volvo and Ford. The car was transported on a carrier.

You know what they say about guys who answer their own postings, don't you? Edit: their smart, great looking, manily and hung.

OK. No front plate. Pinstripping instead! DFO.

Don't like the sound of your exhaust. Change it by using electronic exhaust.. How about a jet aircraft, or Jingle Bells or (ohhhh yeaaaa) a Corvette C7? Or others, selectable by your cell phones. THOR - electronic exhaust (thor-tuning.com)

What's amazing is that we cannot longer make the F1 (Saturn V) engines today. (In fairness they can build better engines today, but the the technology used in the 1950's has been mostly lost). https://ourplnt.com/remake-rocketdyne-f-1-engine-humans-moon/ When i was a early teen, me a two of my friends were walking down an alley. I noticed a box sticking out of a trash barrel and looked in as we passed. There were some strange pieces inside, so we stopped and pulked them out. They were advanced, carefully machined and had a wierd coating. So being curious kids, we took them. Played with them, burned them (an acetylene torch didn’t affect them). We passed them out to the neighbors. The neighbor across the alley worked at Bendex Corp and took one into work and asked if anyone knew what it was. His supervisor called the plant in a neighboring city that built classified missile parts and described it. Within an hour the FBI was at the plant interviewing my neighbor. Of course he told them that "I" was passing highly classified missile parts around the neighborhood. Anddddd they showed up at the house an hour after that. Turns out it was the most classified part of the Talos Missile. The missile used several of these at the front as the antenna. It's exposed the extremely high heat during flight and has to continue to broadcast all the way to its target. Of course I told them everything including showing them which house where we found them. Turns out he was an employee of the Bendix facility where these parts were being made. The agent said they would "take him at work" as it was still during working hours. Never seen anything in the newspaper. Point of all this, (think it around 1959) I've never seen anything published on what this material was or how it worked. It's really amazing just how advanced we were back in the 50's. -
Its possible to "over-condition" leather and cause stickness. (Also, parts of the seat is leather, and other parts are "synthetic" leather. Plastic. Before you proceed, read the site and see if helps. (If you do go with a cover, be observant where it seams fall on the backside. The seams will rub against the seat and cause abrasion). https://leathermilk.com/tacky-leather-conditioned-leather

I like my 2020 Edge ST but it is lacking in a few areas

Ain't no way, sorry. "the installation or use of a non-Ford Motor Company part (other than a certified emissions part) or any part (Ford or non-Ford designed for off-road use only) installed after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford Motor Company, if the installed part fails or causes a Ford part to fail. Examples include, but are not limited to lift kits, oversized tires, roll bars, cellular phones, alarm systems, automatic starting systems and performance-enhancing powertrain components or software and performance ‘‘chips’’

Too much weight causes hard steering and from my experience, over steering. Normal hitch weight should be between 10% and 15% so 375 is still within the limits. (May push you headlights higher though (think getting flashed). One thing you could consider is the use a weight distribution hitch, but I don't know of any that are class II. Why don't you call "etrailer" at 800-940-8924 and talk to them. (Experts).

I think the main reason Ford rates the Edge like this is over caution. The main concern is hill towing and large front area. Over heats the tranny. If your cautious, not fast take offs from scratch and avoid steep hills, shouldn't be any reason you couldn't exceed 3,500 lbs. somewhat. 3,200 should be safe. Just to be safe, follow the towing maintenance schedule for your car. On mine, for towing, I'm required to rotate tires and change oil every 5,000; change transmission fluid every 30,000 and PTU every 60,000 (I'm already changing every 30k anyways). Unless I drive through Georgia. Then i can only change my oil on days where a full moon occurs on the third Thursday of the month from dealers where the location begins with a "f" or "a". And then, I'm not alliwed to eat or drink while the car's being serviced. (It's late, I'm tired)

Tail light Condensation
enigma-2 replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
You may have found the real problem that has plagued dozens of complaints with the Edge. Moisture has to be getting in through a small crack somwhere (if it were larger, the moisture could also escape easily). Lights on raise the temps inside, when shut off, unit cools and creates a small partial vacuum drawing in the cool, moist evening air. I'd clear silicone the hell out of the entire joint. Good find!!! -
There's a tiny speaker attached to the instrument cluster (on the left side of the steering column if I remember correctly). You can remove the instrument cluster and the either tape over the little hole, wrap foam (or whatever) around it to muffel it, or remove it completely. The sound is sent to it from the SJB (fuse panel) as it creates the flashing signal for the various signal lamps.

Something similar to this ? https://www.etrailer.com/t1-2019_Ford_Edge.htm?Style=SE+and+SEL

Tony I'm confused. Are you looking for the liftgate weatherstripping https://www.bluespringsfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-weatherstrip-8t4z78404a06a Or the spoiler weatherstripping ?

There is another way (simular to what I've used on my 2009 MKX. I had a tire leaking and used to bring up tire pressures to kerp a eye on it.) Granted it's overkill in that it allows you to monitor everything the car is doing (so many aspects, engine, body, powertrain, etc.). (One I'm using is different but simular in fuctions, only bluetooth rather than wireless). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077F8F6TB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_2SQBJHV37C83Z9TZP68V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And a free app download to your cellphone. I use FORScan lite.
