  1. Question? Why do you want "brighter , much brighter, much much brighter LED lights" in the first place? You don't need them for seeing. The only purpose would be to blind oncoming drivers. (Yes, even in daylight, bright lights can dazzle or blind oncoming drivers). Concerning safety, doesn't make you more visible, as standard DRL work just fine. And it may violate the maximum amount of light permitted at the front of a car (depending on your state laws).
  2. Don't cover the steering wheel with a cover. It will sense the heat being retained and stop heating. Don't recall Ford publishing anything on this, but Chrysler states "Do not place anything on the steering wheel that insulates against heat, such as a blanket or steering wheel covers of any type and material. This may cause the steering wheel heater to overheat." Consider a comfortable pair of driving gloves.
  3. "Pre-covid", how true. Forevermore we'll be referring to this as a turning point in history.
  4. Why not just switch to tires and rebalance.
  5. I'm still carrying a PremiumCARE on my 2009 Lincoln MKX for two more years, and it's covered. Everything except the usual, glass, tires, battery, etc.
  6. Check your lock to make certain your key still works. Someone may have been trying to break in.
  7. One other thing Haz didn't mention, switch to the towing maintenance schedule when towing. Things like modified changing transmission, PTU rear axle fluids, etc. Whatever's specified in your manual.
  8. Wiring harnesses rarely go bad. Almost always it's related to corrosion in a connector.
  9. Theres a TSB 21-2081 on a 8F35 transmission requiring a software update. Talk to your dealer and see what he says.
  10. Interesting. Does the UK Edge rear windows have one-touch up/down?
  11. This page states its for 07 thru 21 Edges. Approx 1 mph or 2 kph. http://www.fosuvs.com/focont-284.html#:~:text=The set speed will change,2 km%2Fh) increments.&text=Press the accelerator pedal or,you reach the desired speed.
  12. First ask "why do you want to modify the car"? There is cost involved, loss of warranty, lower resale value, etc. What real value are these modifications bring to the table? Why not just drive the car as is for a few months until you reach a point where you are making a change because this is something you just can live without. If its nothing more than new car infatuation, buy Weathertech floor mats and a cell phone holder. Then wait to see what moves you.
  13. Man that's fantastic. Love to travel, see strange and foreign lands. Had no idea about the costs to visit places like the Serengetti. Never thought about the costs of places like this. Bet its an interesting ride in the living area when underway; inasmuch as how high up it sits. Thanks for posting
  14. :Big thumbs up: Very ingenious. Great times, but that first step looks like it's something you'd find on TicToc. AAAAAAaaaaaaaaa Thud!
  15. Start by reprogramming the HVAC module. With the doors closed, press the climate control power button simultaneously with the defrost button. Hold for 10 - 20 seconds and release. Then press climate control power button one more time and the HVAC should reset. If it's a glitch, this should fix it. If not, I'd suspect the module itself.
  16. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, yes. A brittish motor home!
  17. Several videos on YouTube. But don't fool yourself, its off-road capabilites are limited. It's still built on a car platform, not a truck.
  18. What's the condition of your battery? Try a reset. Open the hatch all the way. Pull the fuse and leave it disconnected for a minute or two. Close the hatch manually and latch. Plug the fuse back in and open with FOB.
  19. One other wierd trick. Try turning on your car "on" (not "start"). Security light flashing. Leave in the on position for 10-15 minutes. Until the anti-thief light stops flashing. Then try starting. Force a relearn.
  20. Wonder if the ignition switch is failing. Try testing it by turning key to "RUN" position. Check what voltage you get at the + ignition wire that goes to a coil. Should be 12 Volts. If not, the ignition switch is suspect. (If no voltage, try turning off, removing key and back to run. Perhaps it's intermittent.
  21. Goto Tirerack.com, put in your car, year and color, choose wheels and it will display the combo. Can view several different wheels and get a feel for what looks good to you.
  22. Drink three Martin's and drive home using the freeway. You'll get an alert. Guaranteed.
  23. On my 2009 with automatic temperature control, the fan runs continuously (usually on low, but its speeds up to make when needed). I have a manual override if needed but usually just leave it on auto. When you say it starts up, do you mean it goes to high? Its been discussed here before, turned out to be the module.
  24. Good writeup. Judging by looking at the pictures, it's a wonder that more lock lineages don't come off. Thanks for posting. As for why, my guess is someone replaced the handle. Last year I was at Walmart. When I got to my car, the entire outer handle came off in my hand when I pulled on it. Replacing it is easy enough, remove the screw in the end of the door and the handle pops off. May have popped off during a handle change and the mechanic (home or incompetent) either didn't notice or care. Just a guess.
