Ain't no way, sorry. "the installation or use of a non-Ford Motor Company part (other than a certified emissions part) or any part (Ford or non-Ford designed for off-road use only) installed after the vehicle leaves the control of Ford Motor Company, if the installed part fails or causes a Ford part to fail. Examples include, but are not limited to lift kits, oversized tires, roll bars, cellular phones, alarm systems, automatic starting systems and performance-enhancing powertrain components or software and performance ‘‘chips’’

Too much weight causes hard steering and from my experience, over steering. Normal hitch weight should be between 10% and 15% so 375 is still within the limits. (May push you headlights higher though (think getting flashed). One thing you could consider is the use a weight distribution hitch, but I don't know of any that are class II. Why don't you call "etrailer" at 800-940-8924 and talk to them. (Experts).

I think the main reason Ford rates the Edge like this is over caution. The main concern is hill towing and large front area. Over heats the tranny. If your cautious, not fast take offs from scratch and avoid steep hills, shouldn't be any reason you couldn't exceed 3,500 lbs. somewhat. 3,200 should be safe. Just to be safe, follow the towing maintenance schedule for your car. On mine, for towing, I'm required to rotate tires and change oil every 5,000; change transmission fluid every 30,000 and PTU every 60,000 (I'm already changing every 30k anyways). Unless I drive through Georgia. Then i can only change my oil on days where a full moon occurs on the third Thursday of the month from dealers where the location begins with a "f" or "a". And then, I'm not alliwed to eat or drink while the car's being serviced. (It's late, I'm tired)

Tail light Condensation
enigma-2 replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
You may have found the real problem that has plagued dozens of complaints with the Edge. Moisture has to be getting in through a small crack somwhere (if it were larger, the moisture could also escape easily). Lights on raise the temps inside, when shut off, unit cools and creates a small partial vacuum drawing in the cool, moist evening air. I'd clear silicone the hell out of the entire joint. Good find!!! -
There's a tiny speaker attached to the instrument cluster (on the left side of the steering column if I remember correctly). You can remove the instrument cluster and the either tape over the little hole, wrap foam (or whatever) around it to muffel it, or remove it completely. The sound is sent to it from the SJB (fuse panel) as it creates the flashing signal for the various signal lamps.

Something similar to this ? https://www.etrailer.com/t1-2019_Ford_Edge.htm?Style=SE+and+SEL

Tony I'm confused. Are you looking for the liftgate weatherstripping https://www.bluespringsfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-weatherstrip-8t4z78404a06a Or the spoiler weatherstripping ?

There is another way (simular to what I've used on my 2009 MKX. I had a tire leaking and used to bring up tire pressures to kerp a eye on it.) Granted it's overkill in that it allows you to monitor everything the car is doing (so many aspects, engine, body, powertrain, etc.). (One I'm using is different but simular in fuctions, only bluetooth rather than wireless). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077F8F6TB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_2SQBJHV37C83Z9TZP68V?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 And a free app download to your cellphone. I use FORScan lite.

In addition to what 1004ron said, it looks like the "flaps" are secured to the rear headrests with straps. But you wouldn't need to use them for the cover to cover 90% of the cargo area. Try slipping the rod end into the recesses and see if that's enough.

Got ya. The should be the correct part. https://www.bluespringsfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-door-check-at4z7823552a And on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G7X2YJI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_YYGA25VMHGQ8SZTJXJ7V

If your staye requires the front plate, its a no brainer. You can't drive without it anyway. If not, its a DAO (dealer installed opion). Like pin stripping or fabric protection. I'll bet its listed on the addendum sticker for $150.

Only applies if the car is registered in that state.

Negative battery cable disconnect for towing
enigma-2 replied to Brock's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
This is the easiest switch to install: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001N729FS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_R7XXE4WCEQ6P7E20DS1C or: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0793ZSJ39/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_AP5K5ZWZN0BSD206JRF2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 A more convenient soultion (but more difficult to install): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CVNKPKY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_AK70AE8CT00GWN4K5JPC -
Edge sways all over the road above 70 mph.
enigma-2 replied to ibChuck's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
You make it sound exactly as if the tires are over inflated (but your tires are at 35 psi, so that can't be it). Because it's speed sensitive (and torque sensitive (turns)), and service has checked everything else, I'd question the front wheel bearings. -
Check your antenna connection (both the antenna screwed in tightly, no corrosion, and interior cable connections, the one inside the upper console and behind radio).

Garage door opener
enigma-2 replied to circatee's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Are there any exterior LED lights near the garage? (Your Homelink opener is good, it's probably external interference). -

Forget aftermarket, spend a little extra and get OEM. https://www.levittownfordparts.com/part-ymm/2020-ford-edge-cargo-cover.html

Don't know if that helped. What version of sync do you have?

Looking to buy 2013 edge limited
enigma-2 replied to glennyboy's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
- Who did the maintenance? Per schedule? - How old is the battery? - How many miles on the tires? - Look at front floor for evidience of water? - Have a spare? Tire well clean? - Extended warranty? - BMAR open/close smoothly? - Radio working ok? Sirus? - Sync up to date? - Map software up to date? Once the problems for 2013 are addressed, good car! Discuss your URL then offer 5% under private sale blue book and buy an extended warranty from your dealer. -
Whoooo boy, I want one! lirpaloof https://fordauthority.com/2021/04/2022-ford-f-150-convertible-introduced-as-ultimate-open-air-4x4-vehicle/

Are referring to a BT4Z-6B209-B? Have you tried from a Ford dealership in your country?
-
Just to clarify, you're looking for a "door check assembly" and NOT a bottom hinge; correct ? Can you list your 2007 Edge's model, fwd/awd, engine to help identify. Have you considered removing the broken stud and reusing the existing door check? (You're going to have to remove it when installing a new check anyway).

Tail light Condensation
enigma-2 replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
If your concerned about having open holes (abet 1/16" dia), consider drilling larger holes, 1/4" for example, in the back where they don't show, and covering with Gor Tex. The material prevents liquid water entry while allowing water vapor to pass. This could be accomplished with self-adhesive patches that are easy to apply. (The fix is to vent the interior water vapor to the atmosphere. It appears the existing vents are not functioning). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WTRDKMP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_88PT3ZZ5MJRFTQVYQXZ7 -
