Mmmmm…no it doesn't look cheap. I like the lower dark grey color as it breaks up the body color a little and makes a nice contrast. Also it resists stone chips and road debris much better than painted surfaces. As for the engine, I'd still take the 3.5 V6 like the one I have now. Overall I think that the new Edge is looks good but there are a few details I don't really like, especially the more "rounded grille"…looks so-so to me and also no more rear light bar for the Titanium is disappointing... Claude.

You'll need to change both fenders, the hood, headlights, grille and maybe the radiator support and some hardware… not worth doing as I think the MKX looks better... Claude.

Only the Titanium and Sport models have the light bar that lights up. Both taillights are different too in the way that the upper section lights up in red for the parking and brake lights BUT the lower portion lights up in yellow for the turn signals. On the SEL, the whole taillights light up in red and the turn signal flashes in red, with no center light bar. Claude.

I do something similar… --> I put some plastic washers between the license plate and the screws to prevent corrosion from forming on the license plate ruining it. I like to keep my plates a long time and sometimes I see some other cars with badly corroded platers that eventually have to get replaced which I don't want to have to do. I'm not too worried about any contact between the plate and the car's body because the square nylon attachements into which the screws go also acts as a spacer preventing the plate from touching the car's body. Of course, I use stainless steel screws... Claude.

The alignment of the USB door is good in my '16 Titanium but there was indeed a slight difference in color between the console panels so I bought and installed some gloss black covers ( should've been factory installed, BTW…) which perfectly match the lower part of the console. Not only it looks better, but it solved the unmatching color problem. Claude.

I rustproof all my vehicles, including my Edge and my girlfriend's MKX. It's an oil-based product which when done properly goes into every nook and cranny and stays there, diminishing by a lot the risk of rust forming in hard to reach spots. They do the whole undercarriage, floor, inside crossmembers, etc, also inside the doors and tailgate (especially the bottom where dampness usually stays). I've always got great results with that kind of rustproofing and I don't understand which are the "problems" which RJG" is referring to... Claude.

I'd definitely go with the 3.5. When I bought my '16 Edge, if it would have had the Ecoboost, well I wouldn't have bought it, simple as that. I wanted simple reliable engine and to date, it's been just that. Claude.

The bolt pattern is the same for 2006-2014 (5x114.3mm.) and then changed beginning in 2015 to present (5x108 mm.)... so anything prior to 2015 will fit your Edge. Good luck, Claude.

22" performance wheels and tires on G2 2015 Edge Sport
2FAST4U replied to blownZ71's topic in Wheels & Tires
I did put some 22's on my '16 Titanium. :thumbsup:I kept the original 20"s and mounted winter tires on them. See here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/22344-finally-bought-some-22-wheels-for-my-edge/ Claude. -
If you have "NO problems" like you say, well, leave it alone! The updates are mostly adding new maps in areas where roads are being modified or newer ones are being built... Claude.

I've had the hoods, headlamps and front bumpers of my 2011 MKX, 2016 Edge, 2010 MKZ and 2008 F350 done with clear wrap and never regretted it. It never peeled off, chipped or anything else. Also, my pickup truck is white and it never yellowed either. I much prefer this method over having to install a deflector. It's a very good investment if you plan to keep your vehicle looking new for a long time. Claude.

2011 Lincoln MKX Backup Camera Questions.
2FAST4U replied to hofiveo's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Unfortunately, you're right. It happened to me on my '11 MKX. I took it to the dealer and they had no choice but to replace the camera… Claude. -
2016 Edge with Vista roof
2FAST4U replied to alanaround's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Ford doesn't recommend installing anything on Vista roofs, simple as that. They do not offer any racks on vista roof-equipped models, there's a reason for that…much less putting two kayaks!! Claude. -
It all depends on how much snow there is in your area… If there is little snow you might be ok with the original ones but if you live in an area which usually receives a lot of snow, then get the WeatherTechs…(I did…) Claude.

Generation II Edge and MKX begins with the 2015 model year. Claude.

My '16 Titanium came from the factory equipped with the optional 20" wheels and 245-50-20 tires. I'm using those wheels for my winter tires and use 22"s in the summertime. Claude.

I've never heard of that stuff before… What is it exactly?…a cleaner, a sealer? Also who sells it? Claude.
-
Interesting… BUT... is it true or is it in reality a gimmick?? Claude.

Thanks Nick and "roots57" for the pictures. Maybe it's me…or the angle of the pictures but…both of your Edges look great, but I find there's not much difference for all the work involved... Claude.
-
It depends if you want to keep the stock wheels or not… Personally, I'd get new sensors for your new wheels and leave the originals on the stock wheels, but that's me. After I bought my aftermarket wheels I decided to keep the stock ones and use them for my winter tires… BUT... if you ever decide to sell the stock wheels, they'll be easier to sell with the sensors on them. Good luck, Claude.

Would you happen to have some "before-and-after" pictures? Claude.

I take meticulously great care of my Edge. I own a car wash and during the winter, I wash it every two days and daily if needed. Yeah it's a "driver" but it doesn't mean that it's not well taken care for… I think it's meant to be driven and enjoyed, not parked and never used…and besides, I don't think it'll ever become a collector car, so might as well enjoy it! Claude.
-
I thought of that but since this is my daily driven vehicle, I preferred staying with the stock suspension setup. As for the ride with the 35 series tires, you'd be surprised how good it rides not too harsh, just right (in my opinion). Claude.

Thanks for the comments! I already had some 22's on my '11 MKX which I liked a lot and I was a little disappointed that Ford does not offer any 22" wheels for the newer generation of Edges ('15 and up) so I bought some aftermarket ones which I only use in the summer time. I still have the original 20"s with for use in the winter time. Claude.
