I'm pretty sure that they shut off after a while. A friend of mine tried to make them to always stay on by changing some parameters using Forscan but to no avail… It bothers me because I'd like to be able to leave my cell phone in the car so it gets charged (while I'm shopping or eating in a restaurant) but it doesn't work 'cause when I get back, there is nomore power in the usb outlet… I also tried using an aftermarket charger which plugs into the lighter socket but it's the same problem. Claude. P.S: Does someone know how to have some constant 12v. in the lighter socket?

Please define "leather trimmed seats"

"leather trimmed seats" = "leather seating surfaces" Claude. -
I also have a '16 Titanium and I didn't know about the potential rear glass problem. It's my dealer who told me about it and offered to do the required modification at no charge. No problem with the steering wheel though. Claude.

2016 Edge Rear Window Exploded
2FAST4U replied to Tango's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that you live in the USA…Let's not forget that all Edges are built in Canada (Oakville plant). Also to me, what I really appreciated is that I did not have to PAY for anything… heck, I didn't even know about this problem until the dealer told me about it and offered to do the required modification at no charge... 2016 Edge Rear Window Exploded

Yep, there definitely is a recall on this. Although my back glass never broke, my dealer did the necessary modifications to my Edge at no charge. Claude. -
On my '16 Titanium, the buttons light up but only when the headlights are on… but not when they're off. Claude.

I remember a while ago, someone posted a link on Ebay (not sure) for a 3.0 charger which fit flush into the lighter socket (was even able to close the small cover door) but I cannot find it anymore... Claude.

Nick, do you have some pictures of it installed?… Also, I wonder how hard it would be to replace the lighter socket on the right side of my 2016's Titanium console with one like that?… Would it need extra wiring of could I use the factory power wire? thanks, Claude. P.S: I tried one of those usb sockets sold in flea markets ($2.) but it's as slow as the original usb posts inside the console…

Yes absolutely!. That was one of the main reasons why I had my headlamps clear wrapped. If one day they become faded or opaque, all that will be required to do is to replace the clear film with a new one. Claude. P.S: I must add that I never had to replace any film as of today...
-
1- No. Headlights are not better than before. 2- Here in Canada, we often see some recent cars on which headlamps are beginning to become opaque only after a few years. 3- About the clear film, NO it will NOT reduce light output… I have some on three of my own cars and I clearly can see the road way ahead of me and there's no yellowing of the headlamps. Claude.

Yes it does work. When I had the whole front end of my girlfriend'S MKX and later my own '16 Edge Titanium wrapped with a clear film to protect from stone chips, I also had the headlamps done and even though it was done a few years back, they still look as good as new. Claude.

I have the one from Ford which fits perfectly (of course). Claude.
-
"mkxlincoln", you forgot to mention on which year they fit… In case you didn't know, the bolt pattern is different from earlier Edges and MKX's (2006-2014) than the one on the later models (2015 and up)... Good luck with your sale. Claude.

Not a 100% sure… It depends if it is a "SEL" it's missing a badge in the right corner but if it's a "SE" model then no badge. Claude.

Wow…I'm jealous!… I saw a blue one at my dealer last week and it was simply gorgeous! When I think about it, I sometimes feel like trading my Titanium for one, but I don't because I feel it wouldn't be reasonable to trade an almost new vehicle with low miles on it... Claude.

I'm not sure what "Oasis" is… …but it is very likely left the assembly plant without the weather strip. These things happen… It happened to us when I noticed that my girlfriend's Mustang was missing a small black moulding above the windshield (one on each corner for convertibles). The previous owner never noticed it and this is why I'm pretty sure it never had one so I bought one ( $70. !! ) and installed myself, problem solved. Claude.

Pretty much like me. I don't have anything to complain about at all. I've read some rants from other members but I don't have any of these problems with my '16 Titanium…No squeaks or rattles, no paint peeling from the front emblem, no condensation in the taillights, etc… Damn near perfect (for me at least)… Yeah it could have a little more power but like you said, "it is what it is" and I can easily live with that. and Yeah but it would look U-G-L-Y, period. If you don't like the shape, why did you buy it in the first place?? Wanted something more "boxy"? Then you should have looked at the Flex. Claude.

Any idea how to clean these pockets?
2FAST4U replied to t0lkman's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I'm using a "Shop Vac" style vacuum and sometimes help free the leaves using use a coat hook to help the vacuum to pick them up. One other trick that sometimes works is to use a high pressure sprayer... Claude. -

Easy…I do mine with a vacuum cleaner... Claude. -
Yeah but the question is…: Will it be possible to disable it?…even with Forscan??…Who knows! Claude.

Thanks "65SDAK" for your reply… Last week we put the Mustang in storage for the winter time so I'll have to check about that "kazoo tube" next spring, but I know myself and I'll likely leave it on… As for the new ST, I saw my first one earlier this week (the blue looks great!) and all I can say is that if I wasn't so happy with my '16 Titanium, (with the 3.5 V6), I'd be seriously interested in the ST but not the SE, SEL or Titanium because of the ridiculous "that's it, no other choice" 4 cyl engine… ...but the ST?…Yes! Claude.
