  1. have had at least one owner report having to have the radiator replaced in a Euro Edge, for a leak not an obstruction tho. so may want to have it thermally imaged to check for obstructions as Cerberus mentioned. are the cooling fans coming on as designed when temps exceed set point?
  2. Want to set up "Dark Mode" in your Gen 1.5 Edge without using Forscan? Here is how Scarrz did it:
  3. most likely canister/canister vent valve having an issue. could be fuel filler neck too. but they should have prompted codes ...
  4. rail dust can get on the vehicle during shipping to the dealer or owner, from factory. over time, it will show itself. surface rust is very common in some areas like frame and driveshaft. no failures to date due to rust, except maybe remotely on the body panels. you can try claybarring it or giving it a good dose of products like IronX before the bar. that will tell you how bad it is. if really concerned, get into an annual regimen of WoolWax or Fluid Film for protection. https://www.youtube.com/c/MACTFordEdge/search?query=rust https://www.youtube.com/c/FordTechMakuloco/search?query=woolwax
  5. not too early at all. if you think about it, the edge is practically 12 years old. it has had avg 12K/year put on it, less than the national 15K/year. and we all know how traffic has worsened in the last couple of decades. if you have been following ford maintenance schedules, you are in for a shock. All fluids (trans, power steering, brake and coolant) should be serviced on a 5/60 schedule from mile 0. the fantasy "normal' maintenance schedule exists for an ever diminishing owner population. AWD fluids - every 3/36 max for PTU, 6/72 max for RDU. look up how much it costs to replace either unit, and you will quickly realize the value of regular maintenance. plugs should be changed on a 5/60 schedule as well, with PCV valve at least being cleaned if not replaced. the tube on the valve is a PITA to take off, but it will yield to heat lol. https://www.youtube.com/c/MACTFordEdge/search?query=maintenance
  6. Welcome. As soon as I saw 2016 and 2.0 and a misfire code, I was ready to cry lol. It may simply be the plugs need changing. ecoboosts eat plugs for lunch, and 60K is a good interval to change them anyway regardless of engine. if a plug change/code reset does not fix the problem, you MAY be looking at a coolant intrusion problem. check the engine label on the right side of the valve cover. post a pic plz. does it say Cleveland or VEP. how is the coolant level? you will want to mark current level with a marker, then follow progress daily/weekly. do you have remaining ford warranty?
  7. i dont like the feeling when i adjust them manually, there is a good amount of resistance in the system. if you can do it once and leave it there, that would be ok. if the switch is not the problem, the motor could be. do you have memory seats?
  8. i hope you A) replaced all the TTY bolts, and B ) used cam holders before taking the system apart. did you put on new timing chain/tensioners/guides? all parts ford/motorcraft or were they aftermarket?
  9. knee jerk reaction? water pump/timing chain failure. P0016 and P0018 codes are basically the same animal. bank 1 vs 2. as the timing chain stretches or tensioner loses flexibility, power loss can definitely be a symptom as the PCM retards timing to save the engine. how many miles on your Edge? the work can be DIY, depending on your mechanical ability. it is an exhautive process and you must be diligent about following procedure. you can follow the video series on this work over at YouTube.
  10. argh! we are not ready yet to buy i have seen this Edge in person, and it is everything that has been posted about, in words, pictures, and videos.
  11. thanks for the kind words, Jim, Happy New Year to you as well!
  12. @snmjim the conversation gets out of whack now and then. we definitely do not want you to mothball Edge stuff in any way, it is amazing what you and your son have achieved in a relatively short period of time. there is much you have contributed also outside of this forum, that many may not be aware of. stick with us.
  13. probably something wrong with the viscous coupler in the RDU if tires and fluid and axles check out.
  14. sweet. dont want that rdu crapping out. that can be a 2000$ plus repair.
  15. dunno if Xtra's deal w Rotora still applies, what discount would be given by namedropping.
  16. i hear batteries plus can program keys, you can check with them. nowadays, hardware stores can cut the physical key. look up ratings for fobs on amazon and pick a well-reviewed vendor. KeylessOption is what i have used in the past. you can have the whole package thru the mail using https://fxbgkeys.com Jeff Leeper is a principal in the business.
  17. check for codes. if there are existing codes, they may be preventing the engine from starting. happens with remote start for sure, dunno about key/pushbutton starts.
  18. welcome, nice ride. note that 3.5EB will be a difficult job without some massaging of the frame and body. the transverse version is too wide to fit in the current config/space, and the longitudinal version, well, needs more room up front. might be better off putting in a 2.7 or 3.0 EB. if retaining the current engine, you can watch videos on the Edge on YT ... my sig gives you some ideas.
  19. using coolant sealer products will not work in the long run, nor if you step to anything above low throttle. ChrisFix has a video where he has tested such a product. best deal is to either trade your vehicle in, or put in a nonCleveland block, OR go for a full Sport conversion ?
  20. mileage? maintenance history as above? when codes happen, start with the simplest possible reasons. combustion is fuel + air + spark. you have not addressed spark yet. although not common on the 2010 MY, i certainly hope the PCM is not fried.
  21. Looks good! never needed one on sedans as they don't come with one lol. but i do drive in as much of a "360" mode as possible as it makes traffic motion more predictable. plus activating the rear wiper/washer occasionally lets the driver behind me know i am watching them lol. nobody thinks twice about a rear cam watching them.
