  1. The turn signal circuit on the Edge uses a dual voltage setup, low voltage (5V i think) to activate the parking light and full voltage to activate the turn signal. The bulb itself is a single filament bulb. You can disable the "parking light" voltage using ForScan and then you'll get rid of the constant current, but you would also loose the "parking light" from the same circuit. Refer to this post. Though the side marker still functions as a parking light, so there would still be a constant power for parking light going into the headlamp assembly. Another source for the constant parking light is from the signature light in the bumper, it has 12V constant with ignition on and another constant with parking lights which causes the signature lights to dim when parking/head lights are on.
  2. Should take care of what @Cerberus stated in his post above. Since the valve stays in place and has a smaller diameter, the minimum point is raised slightly and would mean that more oil might be left in the pan compared to removing the complete plug. They also state that in their websit:
  3. I have a paid service package on my Edge, so the dealer does my oil changes. Though in my opinion, I would definitely avoid any metal plug for the fear of damaging the plastic oil pan. But the Dorman plug seems reasonable, you can start draining with the valve, then remove the complete plug for the remaining oil to drain fully.
  4. Was browsing the F-150 Forums and found a thread about a Dorman Engine Oil Plug (link) that also fits the 2015+ Edge 2.7 & 2016+ MKX. The Plug is designed to allow controlled flow of the oil while draining. I haven't tried it, but thought maybe it would be of interest to others. Advanced Auto Parts has it listed for $ 16.99 (link).
  5. The referred document is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin), not a recall or extended warranty. If his original warranty had expired then the dealer can't claim it under warranty.
  6. I am guessing that with a trailer hooked (connected) the hands-free function wouldn't work to prevent unwanted opening/closing of the liftgate. Hence the trailer wiring is connected to the hands-free function.
  7. Thank for sharing. When you say "crack", do you mean in the plastic of the lens/base or in the seal in between them? Where were the cracks located? If they are indeed stress points, maybe other owners should check theirs before the form or become bigger.
  8. As far as I know, yes, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes does reset some learned values in the ECU (PCM). It is still stated in the owners manual for the 2019 ST.
  9. It uses clips only to fix it in place. They probably are the same clips used to fix the cover that you'll be removing, so even if it didn't come with the clips, you can use the clips from the cover.
  10. For the brake light, did you check the brake fluid level or the fluid level sensor connector? If both are ok confirm that the float is actually up, not stuck down and giving a false warning. I would highly recommend you get ForScan with a suitable OBD adaptor as it can read diagnostic error codes from all modules, not just the PCM. It would greatly help you diagnose your Ford issues.
  11. 2016 Sport, ~ 37K miles.
  12. It is included in the US manual, at least it is on the 2016 model. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?variantid=3972&languageCode=en&countryCode=USA&Uid=G1721749&ProcUid=G1721750&userMarket=USA&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False
  13. I am surprised the parts are on backorder in the US. I got the recall done in December 2020. Our dealer even had the parts available before that.
  14. That's a new level for Ford. Describe something that's clearly wrong as normal! They should either enable the selection or remove it from the IPC.
  15. On the 2011-2014 Edge, no. Not even with ForScan. It does work on the 2011-2015 Lincoln MKX.
  16. One more thing on the 2015+ models, the remote window opening does not work while the vehicle is remote started. The engine has to be off. Another note, with ForScan you can also enable remote closing of the front windows.
  17. I remember reading the same issue in the Forums. Even the newer Edges came from the factory without the laminated sunroof glass. Did you notice any sound difference?
  18. What @Cerberus stated. Just make sure it is enabled under vehicle settings in the left instrument cluster screen. I think it is referred to as "Global Windows" or "Remote Windows".
  19. Learn something new. Maybe look if there replacement stem mounted TPMS sensors that replace the band style sensors.
  20. Ford's ECU measures to protect the AWD has been present since at least the 2011 Edge model year, yet many PTUs have failed. Ford even made later versions of the PTU with oil drain plugs to allow for oil changing on some newer models.
  21. If I were you, I would definitely drain & replace the PTU & Transmission fluids, maybe even the RDU. Getting 11.6 mpg driving 62-64 mph over 1000 miles means your Edge was really working hard.
  22. 0.8 mpg is nothing. it can simply be different fuel, driving style, ambient temperature,...etc. For the name/brand, I don't remember that there is any Ford "approved" intake cleaning brand/method. So if the brand you used claimed to be "approved", they should be called out to warn others.
  23. For me it sounds like a bad vehicle battery. I wouldn't even be doubting it. The "click click click" sound is typical of the starter not receiving enough voltage to crank. Being a 2 year old battery, start by replacing it before trying to diagnose it as another cause. Also, this is not related to the "no key detected".
  24. @ANoid: Electronic Stability Control. From the Edge Owners manual:
