  1. As far as I know, yes, disconnecting the battery for a few minutes does reset some learned values in the ECU (PCM). It is still stated in the owners manual for the 2019 ST.
  2. It uses clips only to fix it in place. They probably are the same clips used to fix the cover that you'll be removing, so even if it didn't come with the clips, you can use the clips from the cover.
  3. For the brake light, did you check the brake fluid level or the fluid level sensor connector? If both are ok confirm that the float is actually up, not stuck down and giving a false warning. I would highly recommend you get ForScan with a suitable OBD adaptor as it can read diagnostic error codes from all modules, not just the PCM. It would greatly help you diagnose your Ford issues.
  4. 2016 Sport, ~ 37K miles.
  5. It is included in the US manual, at least it is on the 2016 model. http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?variantid=3972&languageCode=en&countryCode=USA&Uid=G1721749&ProcUid=G1721750&userMarket=USA&div=f&vFilteringEnabled=False
  6. I am surprised the parts are on backorder in the US. I got the recall done in December 2020. Our dealer even had the parts available before that.
  7. That's a new level for Ford. Describe something that's clearly wrong as normal! They should either enable the selection or remove it from the IPC.
  8. On the 2011-2014 Edge, no. Not even with ForScan. It does work on the 2011-2015 Lincoln MKX.
  9. One more thing on the 2015+ models, the remote window opening does not work while the vehicle is remote started. The engine has to be off. Another note, with ForScan you can also enable remote closing of the front windows.
  10. I remember reading the same issue in the Forums. Even the newer Edges came from the factory without the laminated sunroof glass. Did you notice any sound difference?
  11. What @Cerberus stated. Just make sure it is enabled under vehicle settings in the left instrument cluster screen. I think it is referred to as "Global Windows" or "Remote Windows".
  12. Learn something new. Maybe look if there replacement stem mounted TPMS sensors that replace the band style sensors.
  13. Ford's ECU measures to protect the AWD has been present since at least the 2011 Edge model year, yet many PTUs have failed. Ford even made later versions of the PTU with oil drain plugs to allow for oil changing on some newer models.
  14. If I were you, I would definitely drain & replace the PTU & Transmission fluids, maybe even the RDU. Getting 11.6 mpg driving 62-64 mph over 1000 miles means your Edge was really working hard.
  15. 0.8 mpg is nothing. it can simply be different fuel, driving style, ambient temperature,...etc. For the name/brand, I don't remember that there is any Ford "approved" intake cleaning brand/method. So if the brand you used claimed to be "approved", they should be called out to warn others.
  16. For me it sounds like a bad vehicle battery. I wouldn't even be doubting it. The "click click click" sound is typical of the starter not receiving enough voltage to crank. Being a 2 year old battery, start by replacing it before trying to diagnose it as another cause. Also, this is not related to the "no key detected".
  17. @ANoid: Electronic Stability Control. From the Edge Owners manual:
  18. Congrats on or new ride and welcome to the forums.
  19. If I remember correctly, Pre-2015 (Gen 1 & 1.5) Edges, the rear doors do not open like that, they have to be unlocked either by the power unlock or by raising the lock "knob" by hand. Front door locks open simply by pulling the door handle. The "Pull twice" for the rear doors is applicable on Gen 2 Edge (2015+) & MKX (2016+)
  20. It depends on how hard you drive & how much you let it idle because it affects fuel mileage a lot.
  21. If @akirby's suggestion doesn't work, try to disconnect the vehicle's battery for about 10 minutes then reconnect it. Also, a low voltage battery would prevent remote start, so that's also a possibility. A long drive should recharge the battery sufficiently.
  22. Seems that Carlex & Carlite used to be different companies, both related to Ford, but eventually Carlex purchased Carlite. Found an article in this AGRR Magazine about it. Too complicated and I don't know what that means to this issue, but if your vehicle never had a windshield replaced before, then it has to be acoustic glass as it is a standard equipment on the Edge, regardless of what is written on the glass. On another note, the side glass might be "branded" as acoustic because it is not standard equipment, hence the differentiation. What puzzles me more is that the 2021 Edge does not show acoustic glass anymore in the Order Guide.
  23. Maybe a tire tread starting to separate?
