  1. You can remote start with them opened, even with an open door/liftgate it would still allow remote start. At least that was/is the case with the Ford factory remote system since 2011.
  2. As an example, Here is a Toyota FJ Cruiser sold brand new in 2021 in spite of 2014 was the last model year for it to be offered in the US. Unsold vehicle stocks are more common than you think.
  3. The OP's photo seems to be of a 2007-2014 Edge, I am not sure if it is the same procedure as the 2015+ to remove that piece. so just take that into consideration. I was wrong.
  4. Seems the part number is actually "7T4Z-7843150-B". You can find it here or search eBay. Note that as per the vehicle fitment guide, the same part fits 2007 till 2014 Edge models with the manual tailgate.
  5. This might help guide you:
  6. Figured out 2 more mods on the MKX Cluster: Change the Brake light icon: 720-06-02 xxXx xxxx Changed X to 0 will show "BRAKE" as the light, 8 will make a brake icon. You can see the different brake light in the below images compared to the images in my previous posts above. Add "Drive Control" selector in vehicle settings. This will also remove the adaptive steering selection from the driver assist menu. Yes, the Edge does not have "Adaptive dampers", so this will only affect the "Adaptive Steering", but the benefit comes in the cluster showing "Sport mode" with red semi circles when "Sport" mode is selected. Also if Comfort mode was selected, blue semi circles will come up. 720-07-01 xxXx xxxx xxxx Changed X to 4 enables "Drive Control". "0" disables it.
  7. I believe what OP meant with ForScan is he tried to enable the feature using the module configuration in ForScan, there is an option for that but it does not work probably because the Edge's IPC firmware does not have that feature. My guess he'd have to flash the firmware of a 2019+ ST to get the cluster to function similarly (if even possible). ForScan does have a a lot of PIDs and, if i remember correctly, 2 for the boost pressure (commanded & actual) which can be displayed as gauges.
  8. What @lildisco stated above, this is to turn off the interior lights from coming on with an open door. If you want to also prevent the exterior light from coming on, you'll need to use ForScan to enable "Silent Mode". This will give you an option on the instrument cluster under vehicle setting to enable it. When enabled, no light will come on (parking/puddle...etc.) when opening a door or the liftgate when the vehicle is off. 720-04-01 xxxX xxxx xxxx add 4 to the X value.
  9. Modern vehicles have many chips in them to run the different electronic modules, hence even vehicle production is affected by the chip shortages.
  10. As per the 2008 sales brochure (Link) the Edge came standard with "Remote keyless-entry system with 2 integrated key fobs". Integrated meaning the remote Fob is part of the key itself like this (4-button) one or this (3-button) one, depending on weather it has a power liftgate or not. Hopefully a member with a 2008 will confirm this to you.
  11. Attached are from the Service Manual. @jmr061 drew it correctly and as @1004ron stated the old one was routed incorrectly, in my opinion. Was the belt ever replaced before and why are you replacing it now? Maybe the wrong routing caused the early failure. 12. I feel like the image you took is mirrored or that the diagram is. Did you take with the front camera of your phone? (Edit: wrong ?)
  13. Middle East, like mine, are similar to US. Same equipment & engines, only some additional cooling equipment & speedo in Km/h instead of MPH. Also FM radio has all frequencies. I already did the Cluster swap from a 2018 Canadian MKX.
  14. A question to those who did the MKX Cluster retrofit, do your chimes work fine? Mine are now Lincoln chimes but the problem is they have noticeably lower volume. Also, I remember when closing the liftgate a warning chime used to come at the rear, this doesn't come anymore. I feel like the Lincoln Chimes are only coming from the front speakers instead of from front and back and hence the liftgate chimes not coming. Note: The chimes are coming from the speakers, not from the IPC. So it is not that issue.
  15. Yes. it is an LED and replacement is only with the complete light assembly, which is expensive. No, it is not common, at least not by how many have reported it on this forum. There was another member who reported weak reverse lights recently (this post). Maybe check the wiring, maybe the LED is still functional. Also, this "Stupid" thing is common for all new vehicles as they are transitioning to LED lighting. Edit: I remember taking a peak at the PDI documents of my Edge & there was a note on replacing the rear revers light before delivery. So add this one also, though this was even before the Edge was first registered.
  16. Like what Jason said. Go to the MyKey settings, MyKey info, it will show how many "Admin Keys" & "MyKeys" are programmed to the vehicle. The total reflects how many keyfobs are programmed to your vehicle.
  17. Welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy your Edge. Guessing front license plate bracket holes?
  18. For the driver's door, as @circatee mentioned above, you can use the emergency key (key blade) that's inside the keyfob. This is from the Owners manual (link to the 2021 Edge Owners Manual? The other 3 doors can be locked, again using the key blade, you have to open the doors to lock them. You can't unlock them manually from the outside, so you'll have to open them from the inside by pulling the inside door handles (pull twice on the rear doors).
  19. An alternate was was found on the F-150 to disable Auto Start/Stop using ForScan without having to disable the BMS. Can't try it as my Edge doesn't have auto start/stop. 730-01-02 xxxx xxxx x*xx Start/Stop change * to: 0=disabled, 1=enabled This is the Post from the F-150 forums.
  20. I did not try this as my Edge does not have Auto Start/Stop, but for those wanting to disable Auto Start/Stop,an alternate way was posted on the F-150 Forums that does not involve disabling the BMS. May will also work on the Edge. 730-01-02 xxxx xxxx x*xx Start/Stop change * to: 0=disabled, 1=enabled This is the Post from the F-150 forums.
  21. Enabled the Seatbelt monitor feature of the MKX Cluster. 720-02-02 xx** xxzz change ** to 84 or 85 or 86 or 87, they all worked. I didn't find any difference, but from what I think 84 is closest to the MKX value while 87 is closest to the Euro Edge. But, it only works for the front seats & rear outboard seats, meaning the rear middle seatbelt is not monitored. Also, my Edge has the inflatable rear seatbelts, so not sure if this would work on non-inflatable seatbelt equipped Edge/MKX. What this does, upon startup a small seatbelt grey icon with the number of fastened seatbelts appears. The same icon appears for 3-4 seconds whenever a monitored seatbelt is buckled and shows the current total number of buckled seatbelts. Whenever a rear outboard seatbelt is unbuckled a warning message appears. Also a menu for seatbelts appears under vehicle settings that shows the current status. Seatbelt counter icon: Seatbelt warning when a rear outboard seatbelt is unbuckled: Seatbelt Menu:
  22. As far as I know, there are other hardware differences, like the door handles are different. For passive entry the door handles have to be equipped with sensors. This guy in the video below added passive entry to his Fusion, read the description to you'd get some idea of what's involved, definitely not only programming. https://youtu.be/cWX56shScUc
  23. What model Edge do you have? Not all SE models have passive entry as it is an option on the SE.
