Windshield NOT acoustic Glass ?
omar302 replied to DNBush's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
As per the 2020 Edge Order Guide, the acoustic windshield is standard equipment. Seems the 2020 windshield is made by AGC Automotive, while the previous models were from Carlex and the "Soundscreen" branding is apparently part of Carlex. AGC Automotive also makes acoustic glass as per their website.- 10 replies

Windshield NOT acoustic Glass ?
omar302 replied to DNBush's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
What is written on the windshield? Does it say "Soundscreen"? Here I had posted a photo of the windshield on my 2016.- 10 replies

Locking Out Higher Gears without being in Sport Mode
omar302 replied to chipdog4's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Keep it in Sport mode without pressing any of the paddle shifters, the transmission should hold gears more & would lockout the highest gear or two. -

Make sure the switch is not pressed on the overhead console. See the video below around the 50 sec mark. -
As far as I know, it's in the PCM. The IPC only resets it and shows it. There is a PCM PID to show the oil life percentage. Message Center - System Operation and Component Description.pdf

Did not read about it anywhere. Would be good to be able to change to a custom interval.

Page 432 of the manual "NORMAL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE". You can download a "PDF" version of the manual or browse an HTML (website). Link to 2020 FORD EDGE OWNER MANUAL, WARRANTY & OTHER INFORMATION. In short, the manual states to follow the Oil change reminder which should come up at a maximum interval of 10K miles or 1-year. From the manual:

As per the attached document, they'd look at the ignition cycle counter using mode 9. But the LMS tuner does not reset the counter, neither on a performance tune or when returning to stock. I have seen this myself. So it won't be detectable. G0000128 Gas Engine Performance Modifications.pdf

How to lock fob in vehicle?
omar302 replied to KrazyIvanUSA's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
As @1004ron stated above, you can lock a fob inside using another fob from the outside or using the kaypad by pressing & holding the "9-0" & "7-8" buttons. The kaypad will still unlock the door. -
You can use https://www.etis.ford.com to check using the VIN how the vehicle was equipped. But you need to register first. Also, you can contact US Ford online parts sites. They can sell you the correct parts based on your VIN. For example, https://www.levittownfordparts.com/ They are also active on this forum. Benny. @LevittownFordSuperCenter Another good site I use sometimes is Tasca Parts.

No. There is no Titanium ST. There is a "ST" & a "ST-Line". No Titanium ST.

LIncoln MKX to Ford Edge Instrument Cluster Swap
omar302 replied to onyxbfly's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I suspect it is a mismatch between the Lincoln IPC's chime generator to the Ford Audio system, like some chimes or parts of them should have gone to a speaker(s) not available on the the Ford. The overspeed chime is enabled for the GCC market, a single chime & a yellow indicator showing (>120). This can also be enabled/disabled using ForScan.- 110 replies

LIncoln MKX to Ford Edge Instrument Cluster Swap
omar302 replied to onyxbfly's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Can anyone confirm this? I also now confirmed that the liftgate closing chime & overspeed (+120km/h) chime don't come. If the chimes are switched to IPC they will come, but if the chimes are set to vehicle speakers they don't.- 110 replies

Sorry, I might have not been clear, the gear shift interlock is still there and you still need to press the start button (with or without the brake pedal). It has been mostly the same process between my previous 2011 MKX & current 2016 Edge. The only difference was that on the 2011, pressing the shifter lock button before the start button while remote started would have shutdown the engine (even though the shifter is still locked). On the 2016 nothing happens when pressing the shifter lock button before the start button (shifter remain locked).

Unfamiliar sound on my 2016 titanium edge

Wouldn't be the first time the service manual was incorrect. -

That doesn't sound like a chime from a Ford. Are you sure it is not coming from your phone, tablet or some other device you have inside your vehicle? I don't have factory navigation, so I can't say if it might be from that. -
Although this video is for an Explorer, the same thing might also be happening:

Unfamiliar sound on my 2016 titanium edge
omar302 replied to Avi's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
There is no "Sound" alert on Ford's system. The alert is by vibration of the steering wheel. I don't if it was changed in newer models, but the 2016 Edge is like that. From the owner's manual: -
I don't see any reason to prevent remote starting with doors open, there is no safety or security risk I can think off that's more than starting it & letting it idle. For me, with our hot climate, remote starting has been a must have convenience since 2012 and I use it most of the time. Remote starting with a door or liftgate open means I can start it & get the A/C to start cooling while I'm loading things, or if someone (usually kids) entered the vehicle before me.
-
With my previous 2011 MKX, pressing the shifter's button while remote started would shutdown the engine. This was annoying when I forgot to press the engine start button & tried to shift out of park the engine would shutdown. Even though the shifter was locked, still pressing the button killed the engine. Is it still the case with your 2015 MKX? Thankfully it is not anymore with my current 2016 Edge & 2015 MKS.
-
As also confirmed by @Haz, this is the case in North American Fords. I currently own a 2016 Edge Sport & a 2015 Lincoln MKS, both do it, so did 2012 & 2013 Explorers and 2015 Expedition, Flex owned by friends. All NA models. I would be surprised if your Ford did NOT remote start with a door or the liftgate open.

This is the Ford Performance Tuner (Procal 4) which looks similar to the Livernoise Calibrator Touch, but with a bumper case. Even the software looks similar: This is from a Ranger forum.
