  1. I think it is because he does not have Navigation in Sync 3. Therefore, the instrument cluster is setup for "Phone" & "Entertainment" only. Don't think any dealer will help in this case. Maybe try to enable the "Navigation" screen in the instrument cluster using ForScan, but don't know if the directions would work since there is no OEM Navigation.
  2. Anything can fail. I remember reading maybe 1 or 2 members with a failed light bar and I think even one who actually had an SE/SEL bar fitted from the factory to his Sport or Titanium but replaced under warranty. You have two issues: Your dealer. unfortunately, most are like that, whatever you report off they immediately answer that it is "Normal". If you find a dealer that really listens to you, then become friends with them, they are a gem. You purchased your Edge used. Maybe the previous owner replaced the original light-bar and for some reason (intentionally or not) got an SE/SEL bar installed. Reports of high level moisture going into the rear taillights/bar, were not uncommon, so might have been (mis)replaced due to that. Still, having the premium warranty, I guess it should still be covered.
  3. Yes, wireless charging isn't necessary but would have been nice especially that I usually charge my phone at night, so would have been a nice "quirk" when placing the phone down at night. The phone's battery life is great and rarely do i have to charge it during the day. Also, if you are serious about it, act fast as the stocks are finishing soon due to the newer models. Last off-topic post. ?
  4. Just as @onyxbfly stated, the Titanium & Sport models had the light bar working as standard. It's not just the light bar that is different, even the side taillights are different. The light-bar's illumination actually continues the light pattern from the taillights' surround. The SE/SEL's taillights illuminate differently, only the inside portion lights up. On major difference and easily identifiable is the rear turn signals, SE/SEL's flash red and are the same as the brake light. Titanium/Sport have amber rear turn signals separate from the brake lights. I posted some photos here trying to show the differences.
  5. I have had mine since August, recommend it highly. My only issue with it is that it doesn't have wireless charging.
  6. No mention was made of it here, as far as I recall. Seen a couple of threads on the Fusion Sport Forums, but couldn't find anyone who did it. Seems the talk is that the main reason for the power upgrade in the 3.0 vs. 2.7 was from the bigger Turbos & they can be retrofitted to the 2.7. Hope you get a better answer. https://www.fusionsportforums.com/threads/3-0l-swap-conversation.19145/ https://www.fusionsportforums.com/threads/2-7-to-3-0l-conversion.18393/
  7. It is also sold in Australia as the Ford Endura from 2019. Also diesel.
  8. My guess is to accommodate for the space required to have a filler for adblue (diesel exhaust fluid) tank in case it would be required for some export markets. Looking at owners manuals for UK & Australian models, they don't seem to use adblue, so cannot be sure. Maybe for some other markets or maybe after the refresh they didn't need it anymore but the larger fuel door already went into production.
  9. What kind of maintenance did they do other than the oil/filter change? The TSB mentioned above is related to how the tranny shifts (harsh/clunks) but not power. If they did do some other maintenance items, maybe something was disconnected and re-installed correctly. I remember some members had a hose come lose that made it feels like it was Turbo-less. But that was in the early 2015 models. You can also try to disconnect the battery for ~10 minutes to reset the electronics to see if it helps. But my bet is that someone at the dealer messed up.
  10. Maybe a clear vinyl layer? The same used to protect body paint?
  11. Attached is the procedure from the service manual. Hope it helps. Liftgate Latch Manual Release.pdf
  12. That's the cover for recovery tow hook thread. The export Edge has them front and rear.
  13. As per the parts description here, this camera is only for 2015-2018 Edges! So you will be limited in your search. I think the problem is from the camera being powered on all the time as long as the ignition is on, not only when the camera image is displayed. During hot days (4-5 months of the year here!) the camera image becomes grainy after a long drive (my interpretation: hot camera), turn off the Edge for ~10 minutes and the camera image becomes clear. I had also faced the same issue in my previous 2011 MKX. Having the camera powered on all the time will definitely reduce its life span. Edit: By the way, if you are up to part scavenging, maybe also try to retrofit a rear Camera washer ? and post a guide on your website.
  14. Unfortunately, the frame doesn't come as a separate part. You best option is to look for a used mirror that has the same options as yours (memory, BLIS, turn signal).
  15. @robertlane @akirby Yes, please turn them back on. It is very annoying not knowing what vehicle the poster is referring to.
  16. My guess would be due to the high pressure put on the intake system from the turbos would help clean it out. The carbon build up problem in early DI engines were naturally aspirated engines and with EGR systems. Modern vehicles having turbos and with better timing control that replace EGR systems would help reduce carbon build up. Also, engine & intake designs play a critical rule as even some port fuel injected engines suffered carbon build up. But at least with port injection additives could be added to fuel.
  17. Bad battery? If it is more than 2-years old I'd suggest to start by replacing it. From you photo, I geuss it is the factory installed battery because MtotorCraft replacement have red stickers. If that is the case, then your battery is at least 5 years old. Don't remember reading a case in this forum, but googling does show results. Just search (rotten egg smell battery and you'll find many results).
  18. The article quotes Automotive News Canada as the source. Opening that link is a "subscriber only" article, but you can read it is as per a "Forecaster", so not really credible news. Looking at the sales numbers, the Edge has been selling consisting numbers for most of its life, it also ranks 5th in 2019 & in Q1-2020 among midsize SUVs which include 3 -row larger SUVs. Wouldn't make sense to cancel it especially with Sedan production stopping at Ford. Ford would still need something between the Escape & Explorer. The only problem is that it has always been based on the Fusion platform which is seizing soon. In my opinion, they should use the Explorer platform for the next generation, then they would be able to make a true ST version.
  19. Hi. Congratulations on the purchase and welcome to the forums.
  20. Came upon an interesting article (posted in a thread in F150Forum) about Engine Oil for Turbocharged Direct Injection Engines which are increasingly being the normal nowadays. Which also applies to Ford Ecoboost line of engines. In short, there is now a new Engine Oil Standard, API SN Plus, SP, & GF6, which have been designed to reduce Low-Speed Pre-Ignition. Going Ford Edge Owners Manuals, it seems Ford switched to the API SN Plus in 2019. The Oil Specification WSS-M2C946-B1 (US part number 5W30-Q1SP) instead of the previous WSS-M2C946-A (XO-5W30-QSP). On MotorCraft website, it is also stated "This oil also meets WSS-M2C946-B1 and SN PLUS; therefore it can reduce oil derived low speed pre-ignition." So it would be recommended to check for the newer oils regardless of your Ecoboost Edge's year. Look for an oil that is API SN Plus, API SP, or GF6.
  21. Unfortunately, if you heard a pop it probably means one of the front clips broke. If it did break, the initializing procedure will not help. the good news is that there is now an after market solution that costs way less. I haven't tried it, nor do I remember if anyone in this Forum posted about using them. They weren't available before I sold my 2011 MKX. http://www.sunroofdoctor.com/2007-2014-Ford-EdgeLincoln-MKX-Sunroof-Guide-Repair-Kit-_p_112.html
  22. The 2009 Edge uses a different type of sensor. Strap or band mounted sensor. The 2012 Escape uses a stem mounted sensor. This is probably the reason it didn't work. In case they are compatible, the strap mounted sensor is usually mounted 180 degree from the stem, so you would need to hold the re-learning tool at that position, not at the stem like the newer models.
  23. Another update was released for the MX+ & EX. Both dated 09-June-2020.
  24. I am only guessing here, but it seems like the hose is an EVAP related hose. Maybe this one? But I don't think the clip is sold separately by Ford. Found some aftermarket clips on Amazon like this from Dorman and this from Needa, but can't find a way to select the right fit.
  25. The standard wheels on the ST are 20", not 18". One more difference, 20" replacement tires are generally cheaper and easier to find than 21" tires. Also, 21" are more prone to damage due to the lower profile tires.
