Do you mean accessories connected to the 12V power outlet(s)? The Power outlets on the 2015+ Edge will turn off off after a certain amount of time, i think ~1 hour & 15 min (I did not time it). If you are into ForScan mods, there is an edit that can change the timeout.

I once tried 2013 Explorer Limited 20" wheels on my previous 2011 MKX and they rubbed the brake calipers.

One more observation on the LMS tune: When applying the tune, the tuner has a progress meter, and for the LMS tunes, it would go through three (3) blocks (erasing block 1 of 3, then writing block 1 of 3, erasing block 2 of 3, then writing block 2 of 3 finally erasing block 3 of 3, then writing block 3 of 3). But the stock tune has 16 blocks! And restoring the stock tune erases/writes all 16 blocks. I asked them about it and they responded: "The mention of only seeing a few BLKS writing when installing the tune versus pulling the stock read is to be expected, so no worries there. When it reads the stock tune it does a full file and when custom tunes are installed it only has to write the segments not the entire file"

@UrbanFree @onyxbfly Did you get any DTCs before the Spark Plug change? I have had the LMS tune for about 1.5 years now, no issues except unacceptable (to me) harsh shifts, even at low throttle, that they corrected by going back to "stock shift tune". Just got worried from your experiences and want to be pro-active to detect if anything might go wrong. My personal displeasure with them are mainly with the lack of "features" and updates. I have asked them several times to enable the current gear status which other tuners can enable, for which LMS claimed is not possible, and lack of updated tunes. I know they came up with V3 (for 2015-2018 models) but that was back in Nov. 2017. And the V3 tune is not available on 89 Tunes!.

You need to ask Ford that question. My guess is because of the much warmer weather here and that folks here assume crossovers are SUVs so they would still take them on sand dunes. Gen1: 2007-2010 Gen1.5: 2011-2014 Gen2: 2015-2018 Gen2.5: 2019-2021 1.5 & 2.5 are referred to as 0.5 updates because they are refreshed models with the same chassis & many shared components.

Now with ForScan 2.4.1 available, may I ask if anyone with a 2017-2018 Edge with the higher level Instrument Cluster (With 2 Screens & Speedo in the middle) if they can get the Firmware numbers? I want to try to flash the 2017/2018 Firmware to my 2016 Cluster. Below is a screenshot of my 2016 IPC, a similar screenshot for a 2017/2018 would be greatly appreciated as I would need to get the files manually, but without knowing the file numbers it would be impossible for me. Thanks in advance.

Ford's Owners Manual supplement for the Middle East specifies 20K miles for normal driving & 9K miles for severe duty.

AT&T's announcement of 3G shutdown was recent. I don't believe any other place outside of the US is shutting down 3G this early. I don't think there was any indication on the short longevity of 3G networks in the US when Ford up with its tech. But I do agree they should come up with replacement hardware for customers who want to continue.

Maybe the satifaction program was extended, especially considering the Covid-19 pandemic. But the fix was supposed to be the steering wheel itself, not the clockspring. Did they install a new steering wheel?

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

Yes. Engine cooling Fans have variable speeds. Fan speed is determined by the PCM based on several factors including coolant temp, outside temp & A/C compressor operation. -
mirror vanity lights

Check the below video, around the 1 minute mark. The 2015+ Edge is mostly similar. But note that replacing them with LEDs will make too white compared to the rest to the interior lights. -
2017 Edge - Closing windows with remote
omar302 replied to ToeNuttz's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
The best available, in my opinion are the OBDlink adapters. EX for wired, MX+ for Bluetooth. EX has an extra benefit of support from ForScan team and a possible future ability to flash firmwares to Fords various modules. The MX+ is very capable and has the advantage of accessing OEM diagnostic codes and parameters for other brands as well (without additional cost). -
2017 Edge - Closing windows with remote
omar302 replied to ToeNuttz's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
The dealer won't be able to add "Global Close". You can do it using ForScan using a compatible OBD2 adapter. -
It is not unusual to find information in the Owners Manual/Supplement that is not correct. The only shift light I've seen in the ST is when your close to redline the tachometer insert color turns red.

Is the the C2 a RWD based platform? I was hoping they would develop the Edge as a 2-row version of the Explorer (like the Honda Passport-Pilot). Would make a great "ST" version. I think the Mondeo (Euro Fusion) is still going to be produced, maybe the Edge will share its platform?

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
omar302 replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Got a low key battery warning message. Replaced the Fob battery. Not a big issue, just glad Ford implemented the "Key low battery" warning message. Didn't get that in previous Ford vehicles. -
Following that TSB is very funny (& concerning). 6 Simple steps, except if step 6 is applicable, the solution is to just "remove the engine and replace the long block"!!!

2017 Edge Sport 2.7 & 2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0 - swap engines?
omar302 replied to snmjim's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
I remember reading that when it first came out (that it is aluminum vs. CGI), but the specification pages for the MKZ, Continental and Explorer ST show CGI for the 3.0! Interestingly, the Aviator block material is not mentioned. @Xtra: From the FusionSportForums, seems they had figured the bigger Turbos from the 3.0 are where the main power increase comes from. This post links a few threads on the topic if you'd like to read more. -
There is nothing on the manual regarding special procedures for removing the battery. Simply disconnect & remove. Reverse to install. If installing a new battery, reset the BMS. Nothing else. I heard of some other makes that require a special procedure when replacing the battery due to electronics, but not on the Edge. Also, the radio presets and memory seat positions are not lost in the Edge. At lease for me they aren't.

ForScan is currently only a Beta. You can get a 2 months license for free. Renewable for the time being. The license would enable a few more functions, namely changing As Built Data for Ford/Lincoln vehicles. There is no issues with the beta version as long as you be careful of what your doing and always backup. If you are interested in more info, you should go through there website & forums. Also this post on the Fusion forums has good info: http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 12, 2020 – Ford Motor Company is issuing three safety recalls in North America. Safety recall for select 2015-18 Ford Edge and 2016-18 Lincoln MKX vehicles Affected vehicles have front brake jounce hoses that could rupture. A ruptured front brake jounce hose will cause a progressive brake fluid leak. If the brake fluid reservoir is depleted below a certain level, the brake fluid warning indicator light will illuminate. The driver may experience an increase in brake pedal travel, together with a reduction in the rate of deceleration, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this condition. This action affects 488,594 vehicles in the U.S. and federal territories, 62,876 in Canada and 7,140 in Mexico. Affected vehicles are as follows: 2015-18 Ford Edge vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant from June 25, 2014, to Dec. 21, 2017 and 2016-18 Lincoln MKX vehicles built there from Nov. 11, 2014, to Dec. 21, 2017 Dealers will replace the front brake jounce hoses with new hoses that have a revised braid material. The Ford reference number for this recall is 20S42. https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2020/08/12/ford-motor-company-issues-three-safety-recalls-in-north-america.html

To reset the battery management system for the new battery, either a dealer can do it (or anyone with Ford's IDS) or using ForScan. It's a free application on the PC that needs a compatible adapter. Not sure if your adapter works with it or not. Check ForScan.org Regarding the outside temp display and the odd operation of the HVAC, try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Sometimes electronics need resetting to work correctly.

Can you swap a 2019-2021 ST bumper to a 2015-2018 Sport?
omar302 replied to AirJordan's topic in Exterior & Body
I believe the tow hook refers to the small screw-in eye hook that some vehicles have. Export Edges have bumpers with an access hole and cover for it. Like this:
