  1. The 2019-2020 ST's Transmission added 2 gears to the previous model's 6-speed. 1 ratio was an added overdrive (higher than the original for better highway fuel economy) and 1 ratio between the old model's 1st & 2nd creating a new 2nd ratio and making the old 2nd ratio a 3rd. This probably created too close ratios and an added shift when accelerating to 60 mph increasing the time. Since the old transmission's ratios were fine (no one complained all these years) I speculate they removed this 2nd and kept the overdrive. This makes sense to me because this is what I feel my 2016 Sport needs, an additional overdrive for highway fuel economy. By the way, here is media page for the 2021: https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2020/10/28/2021-ford-edge--smarter--more-stylish-than-ever--adds-standard-s.html
  2. Good luck with sales. Suggest you change the title to A11 instead of A-II. When I read A-II I thought it was A2.
  3. Don't remember reading about this before. There is no known scenario (in stock form) that would cause the horn to honk when starting the engine. Do you have any alarm system installed?
  4. Welcome to the Forums. I am sure you already know, but just in case, with your high mileage check and replace the water pump before it fails because a failed water pump in these engines might lead to a failed engine.
  5. As per the diagnostic image you posted, the fault is not currently present, it was a past event. They should do pinpoint tests to the ABS and/or Power Steering modules to try and determine a cause. What was happening when the fault first came? As per the manual (attached), C0051-67 refers you to Pinpoint test J (page 46) and some of possible causes start with suspension and tire issues. Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and Stability Control Diagnosis and Testing.pdf
  6. You have to compare the full part numbers. The numbers you listed are only the middle part which identifies the type of part in Ford's system, which is the same for Ford vehicles, the Prefix & Suffix to that number will determine the exact part (model, year, version, ...etc.). For example, the full part# for 5G203A on the Edge is "F2GZ-5G203-J" while on the Fusion it is "GD9Z-5G203-C". I did not check all the parts, maybe some are identical.
  7. Searching online it seems your issue is the bulb. To be sure, swap the bulbs (left/right), if the yellowing also changes sides, then it's the bulb.
  8. HID bulb turning yellow is probably a sign of failing bulb. By the way, this is what a stock HID bulb for the Edge looks like (D3S):
  9. Aa stated in the procedure, a Interior Trim Remover. Simply a prying tool. Using a regular screwdriver works but you risk scratching the plastic.
  10. See the attached file. It is fairly simple. APillar Trim Panel Interior.pdf
  11. See the attached file. Driver Door Window Control Switch RI.pdf
  12. Without having inside information you will never know which is actually better. just not having the end covers doesn't mean it is inferior. Another argument can be made that you actually have more filtering media due to the filter being longer after removing the end-covers. Here is a comparison on another site, seems to favor the new design a bit. From that thread the new one seems to have better sealing, o-rings and inside cage.
  13. I suggest to use ForScan with a suitable OBD Adaptor that can access MS-Can & HS-Can and check for any codes that might help diagnose your issue.
  14. In the 2016 Owners manual, the initial coolant change is clearly stated as "Initial replacement at six years or 100000 mi (160,000 km), then every three years or 50000 mi (80,000 km)." I am sure there is no harm in changing it early. Also, proof that changing out the orange coolant is not required immediately is the fact that the yellow coolant can be used to rip-off the orange coolant and that no flush is required when draining the orange & filling with yellow.
  15. I'd also agree with @1004ron but suggest you remain with the Motorcraft oil filter. No reason to change to another oil filter brand as there has never been any bad reports on them. For change intervals, I couldn't find it in the 2016 Owners Manual, but in previous Ford models, it would state that even when using Synthetic oil to not exceed the same change intervals. In the case of the Edge it is 1 year or 10k miles, whoever occurs first.
  16. Seems to be an improvement over the Chinese Edge with a few more hard buttons. The Chinese even less audio hard buttons. Also, the image is clearly a preproduction photo. Passenger seat control does not have any logo in it unlike the driver's control (Edit: that logo is the heated steering wheel!). Also, doesn't make sense that the only hard button for the HVAC (Max Defrost) is duplicated in the screen two inches immediately above it.
  17. I originally got the how-to from this post. I don't have pictures, but what I did, first pulled down the front over head console, it just pops out. Then, there is a connector with 3 wires in it, I think it was the middle wire, just cut it. This will disable the lights on with doors open. I installed a switch inline where I cut the wire so I can enable/disable it anytime I want. First used this switch and on a another vehicle used this one. Note that this will only affect the front lights. The rear & cargo lights will still turn on with the doors.
  18. As @Nick Halstead stated, the triangle LEDs are "signature lights", in other words, for looks only. They turn on with the ignition and cannot be turned off. The DRLs are the headlights, they turn on when you have the lights on "Auto" and you are out of P-Park. Also there is a setting in the left instrument cluster to turn off the DRLs (the headlights).
  19. Do keep us updated. Another suggestion is to get the VIN of a Edge that came stock with these lights and check the ABD for it for those bits that are related to the DRL & headlights.
  20. I don't think you'll ever get the real answer. It could an engineering issue, some part that can't handle the extra load. A safety issue, or even a marketing plot to push customers to go to bigger more expensive vehicles. I recall back in the 90's, the Grand Marquis had a 5000lbs tow rating, but in its last year's it was only 2000lbs, inspire of it being a body on frame that supposedly was improved over the years. https://www.towratings.net/model/grand+marquis
  21. If you want to try things your way, check the BCM codes in the F-150 sheet, it has several mentions of LED lights in the BCM that might have an affect to your project. What changes did you do in ForScan? In this thread, a member installed Chinese (aftermarket) lights and had to make some changes. Maybe it will be helpful.
  22. Usually eBay is a good source. Note that the Edge Sport wheels for 2011-2014 models were 22" not 20". Other years would not fit. 2007-2010 have a different bore size, 2015+ have a different bolt pattern (not sure of the bore). Another option if you want are 2011-2015 Lincoln MKX wheels, they are a direct fit. They come in 18", 20" and 22".

    End of an Era

They are the exact same color. Like what @handfiler stated, both have the same color code. I even had some touch up paint left from the 2011 MKX and it matches the 2016 Edge. It was also called Kona Blue in 2016. The color's shade does differ based on lighting, sometimes looking like dark blue, close to Navy blue. In other lighting conditions it's blue blue, if that makes sense.

    End of an Era

Kona Blue returned again for the 2016 Model year. I was fortunate to get both, a 2011 MKX & 2016 Edge in Kona Blue.
  25. Master Reset is the most you can do, if it did not fix your issue then it is probably something else. If it is under warranty let your dealer handle it. I don't know if the basic Sync can be re-flashed again or not without a dealer's equipment. Maybe try to run the update again and see if works.
