  1. I think it is because the FWD doesn't have the AWD system it has a regular tank, think square shape, whereas with the AWD the tank is kinda like 2-tanks merged at the top to clear the AWD system. So with FWD they made the biggest tank that works with a single Fuel Pump, but with AWD, since they already had 2 pumps, they added a bit more capacity.Link to the diagrams. This is the FWD Tank: This is the AWD Tank:
  2. Yes, AWD had a bit bigger tank. I was able to get a bit more than 70 liters (18.5 gallons) several time in my AWD 2011 MKX. From the 2011 MKX Owners Guide: For 2016 the difference between AWD & FWD is minor:
  3. Just a thought, if you are not able to buy a PTU for a pre 2015 with a drain plug (Middle East spec), would a PTU from a 2015+ with a drain plug fit? Would that be an option for those in the US?
  4. Same here. Maximum I filled was the equivalent of about 17 gallons. Unlike the 2011 I had before where I actually once even filled up a tiny bit more than advertised fuel tank capacity.
  5. I don't think that is normal. Better have it checked by a dealer.
  6. With no Fusion/MKZ/Continental to share costs, it doesn't seem to make a good business as no other product uses the transverse V6 EcoBoost (2.7/3.0). I'd like to think that the next generation Edge/Nautilus (if they still exist) would be based on the Explorer/Aviator. Kind of like how the new Honda Passport is essentially a 2 row Pilot.
  7. I didn't find any mention of the FWD based 2.7 & 3.5 EcoBoost engines getting the new setup. Even Ford's website for the Edge & Explorer show direct injection only with no mention of port injection.
  8. The 2019 Explorer Sport is at least 4k more than the Edge ST, even though it has less tech features & is based on a very old platform, so expect the all new Explorer ST to be considerably higher when equipped similarly to an Edge ST. Performance wise, even though it will be heavier, but being based on a new RWD platform and with the 10 speed auto, the tuning on the engine might give an edge over the Edge ST even in a straight line. The police version tested by Michigan State police was quick in a straight line and on a track than 5.7L Dodge Chargers.
  9. My previous vehicle was a 2011 MKX with a traditional hydraulic steering and I'd say my 2016 Sport is at least as solid as the MKX was, if not a bit more. Wife's '13 Altima had a hybrid system, am electrically driven hydraulic pump (AFAIK) and it feels twitchy. Also, remember that Ford's EPAS had what they call drift compensation, what it does is add some steering torque in case there was road crowning (if that's what it's called) or there was crosswinds, kind off like to relieve some stress Fromm keeping the steering turned all the time. Something that will take some time getting used to. For the adaptive steering, what it does is actually make you turn the steering wheel less at slow speeds. You'll find that going to full right or left will only take 1 turn when parking. Found a way to see how much it adds by rotating the steering wheel about a quarter to half turn when the engine is off at which the adaptive steering would not be working, then start the engine and the steering wheel will turn by it self to add the adaptive compensation it usually adds if you had turned the wheel with the engine on. Off topic but kinda cool to see it work out of the ordinary.
  10. I can't say about that of the steering on my Sport. It feels solid at high speeds. I'd suggest you check the alignment & tires just to make sure everything is good. Also try the steering modes, sport/normal to see if one is better for you.
  11. Welcome to the forums & congrats on the new ST. Hope you enjoy it.
  12. Ford doesn't offer it as an upgrade, so you can't go to a dealer & ask them to do it. Like what Nick stated above, you can use Android Auto or Apple Car Play. If factory navigation is a must (though with outdated maps) you either so it yourself or go with expensive solutions. Another source for a factory navigation module programmed ready is from Jason who is a member here, @jmr061. You can check his website. He has Sync 3 Nav modules for less than half the price you mentioned from 4DTECH.
  13. Yes, but there is a valid issue, with no battery the parking brake cannot be released on the 2015-2018 Edge.
  14. Did they use a road force balancing machine? One with a steel roller that presses on the wheel during measurement to make sure the wheel is round within specs.
  15. 1) It is stated in the owners manual how to manually override the Brake-Shift Interlock. 2) yes, unfortunately you can't, you have to connect a power supply to release the parking brake, though newer models (I think 2019+) now have a manual cable mechanism for such cases. 3) It is stated in the owners manual to remove the cover on the driver door handle & use the key blade from the fob to unlock manually.
  16. Yes, nothing was ever stated that the 2.7L on the Edge was changed, even the Ford website still states "2.7L EcoBoost® V6, Twin-turbocharged, Direct-injection".
  17. @jmr061 can you post a PDF of the latest TSB? Thanks.
  18. My first guess would be that the PDF would be a 1st print while the html version is the always the latest, in the PDF version there is no difference between both drivetrains (2.0 or 2.7) while the html version does. Anyway, found the Ford Towing guide and it says the same thing as the html version, the 2.0L 4 cyl cannot be towed on 4 wheels while the 2.7L V6 AWD can.
  19. You can view the Owners Manual directly from this link.
  20. It is to enable the vehicle to know if the hood is open or not, remote start will not work if the hood is open. It is probably for safety reasons to prevent accidental engine starting if someone is working on the engine.
  21. I can't say which exact value you need, but what I know is that the 2011-2014 Edge is very close to the 2011-2015 Explorer in terms of ForScan changes & values. The Fusion (2013+) is different. Maybe this thread on the Explorer will help: https://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/remote-start-facts-2011-2015-only.418625/
  22. @jmr061 just posted before your post a TSB for fixing (or reducing) this issue. I couldn't find a PDF of the new TSB but found the old one, and seems interesting how they are trying to tackle the issue. 17-0056.pdf
  23. Just guessing here, but maybe the Titanium emblem is higher so that the center line of both the Model emblem & "EcoBoost" and/or AWD is aligned with the center of "Edge".
