Disappointed in H&R Springs G2 Edge Sport
macbwt replied to Mikula's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Wait a few weeks the recheck. Settling may occur and the results may be slightly different and more in spec. -
What is the alternator charging at under load? 12 volts is not enough that is a dying battery. What are the CCA's on the battery? Is there a parasitic draw on the system. Shift to park lights? Door ajar lights etc.

What brand of bearing did you use? SKF, Timken, or Motorcraft OEM? That bearing was apparently damaged during the installation. The axle nut is not reusable. NOTE: Apply the brake to keep the halfshaft from rotating. Position the halfshaft in the hub and use the previously removed wheel hub nut and washer to seat the halfshaft. Tighten to 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). Remove and discard the wheel hub nut and washer. NOTICE: The wheel hub nut contains a one-time locking chemical that is activated by the heat created when it is tightened. Install and tighten the new wheel hub nut to specification within 5 minutes of starting it on the threads. Always install a new wheel hub nut after loosening or when not tightening within the specified time or damage to the components may occur.

A bad fuel pump and a how-to on an 09 Edge Limited w/ AWD
macbwt replied to Jsmith10000's topic in 2009 Edge & MKX
most likely air being purged from the repair. -
I would definitely investigate the coils and plugs. Would not hurt to have the PCM diagnosed also.

A mod due to an accident so why not take advantage of the situation and make the Edge look even better than before.

That is not a video on a Ford Edge there are several steps you do not need to do like a coolant line.

You got it. Great moral courage.

Curious as to the brands as you made such and effort to not mention the brands. I use Autozone High carbon rotors and Cmax highcontent ceramic pads. Over 120K miles on the rotors and pads and no problems. I would avoid those drilled and slotted things. Also the rotors most likely are not warped but your driving or braking may be baking the pad material onto the rotors and you have build up from the pad and rotor material. Try turning the rotors if nothing else. Also 8 years is a long time for brake fluid to suck up a bunch of water. Replace the brake fluid.

Well when I made the Title of this thread I never meant for it to include me driving a 2018 Hyundai Sport 2.4 AWD, but hey it is a rental so I will make lemonade out of the lemons while my Edge is in the body shop being buffed up and made good again. Got a few cosmetic major changes coming up so be ready.

2011 FWD Edge fluid leak after LCA replacement
macbwt replied to mobrien118's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Great that the leak was a simple fix on the trans with the axle. I will say I never had to move the axle to the point of this issue. I never removed the axle nut. As far as hammering the axle not a good idea on that either.- 8 replies

I plan on replacing my valve cover and will aim to see if the oil consumption over 10K miles or 200hr of use reduces.
