No idea what your service was and included. I will say I am servicing my 2011 Edge and the parts are 6 injectors 150.00 dollars, 6 plugs 30.00 dollars, two down stream O2 sensors 125.00 dollars, 2 Upstreem O2 sensors 200.00 dollars, 6 coils 150.00 dollars (motorcraft OEM), PCV 5.00 dollars. My total for parts will be 650.00 plus some supplies, MAF cleaner, Throttle body cleaner, etc. Shop labor bay rental will be about 75.00 dollars. Pretty sure the dealer would hit you for over 2K to do this type of service.

This is the grocery getter. Keep in mind both engines have nearly the same miles at the time of the video (90,000 miles)

I used my endoscopic camera to view the piston tops and intake valves of two 2011 Ford Edge limiteds with the 3.5 duratec. One is a grocery getter and the other is a work vehicle that drives primarily on the interstate. View the videos and see the difference.

I know E-0 results in better MPG's I get better MPG's every time I fill up with non alcohol gasoline. I will add a but to the statement. If you fill up with a non top tier pure gasoline I have also seen lesser results in MPG's. I buy a tank of gas a day and do my best to buy the Top Tier.

If bumps and closing the door cause it to not function. The issue is an electrical connection. Tracing an erratic connection will be a difficult task requiring some luck and a moving a lot of wires/connectors.

Dealers Recommends Full Synthetic
macbwt replied to davidceder's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Yep John Deere mowers have hour (Hobb) Meters as mine does. The 2011+ Edges all have Hobb meters also. My oil testing is throwing the Blackstone Lab folks back on their heals since all I document is hours and not miles. I like to be different sometimes. -
First rule is never buy any car that is leaking fluids. Might be the thermostat housing or metal hose that is leaking, but I would still run to a different Edge. Plenty more out there that are not leaking.

Dealers Recommends Full Synthetic
macbwt replied to davidceder's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I am currently running 0W20 with my Edge at 175,000 miles (2011 3.5) Amsoil. My 2008 Edge I was using 10W30 high mileage due to a rear main seal leak, but with 285,000 miles something is going to leak. My wifes Edge is currently working towards the first 200hrs with about 125hrs already on the AMSOIL 0W20. Testing will be confirming the state of the oil. My Edge has already ran through the first 200hrs run with 0W20 AMSOIL and the results indicated excellent testing results and based on two lab test from two separate labs the decision to go to 250hrs was made. I am at 150 hrs currently with 100hrs to go. I will post the oil testing results of the 250hrs run once I achieve the hours. Why am I using hours instead of miles. Simple hours are far more reliable as a measurement. -
Try this lab. 25 bucks or so for a testing of your sample. http://www.blackstone-labs.com/

For my part I viewed the video as as far as your operation and the PID information I see nothing out of the ordinary when compared to my experiences with the readings. Mine is pretty similar to yours. Smells: If you have AWD you might want to check the PTU and Power steering system for leaks on the exhaust.

You started having issues with shift to park when it got cold outside right? Just jiggle or wiggle the shift lever and it should clear the light. Had this issue in my 2011 when it was really cold. If the CD player is stuck then you may have to replace it or just leave it and never use it again. Based on your statement I would just forget about it. Who uses CD's anymore anyway? My 8 Track work great!!! Have you taken the time to go to safecar.gov and register your door latch as an official complaint? If not please do so as this is a growing concern and the more people register their complaints the stronger the case will be for Ford to take some sort of action.

First thing run by an Auto parts store and have them scan the Edge for codes. (do not let them talk you into parts purchases) then report back here and we should be able to set you up in the right direction. In the mean time post all that you know about maintanance history of your Edge and information on your Edge such as Model trim, AWD or FWD etc. Lets start with the engine issue first then move on to the other noted items you mentioned.

The successor to the Orange Crush is going to be moved to this thread. I fully expect Lullubelle (2011 Ford Edge Limited) to reach 200K miles by about June 2017. I am sure the there will be some interesting repairs. I can say both have had their issues, but not the same issues.

Had drivers side front window #3 installed yesterday. Let's hope this one does not break. Rather annoying to replace this one window so many times. All stress related.

I decided to REUSE the PCV tube from my wife's Edge for my Edge when I change the spark plugs. This is how you can remove the old PCV and install a new PCV into the old PCV tube.

Installed new plugs in my Wife's Edge. I checked the gap in the plug prior to installing them and this is the result out of the box.

Turbo's starting to fail now and are not available for replacement and very pricey to replace. Recent info I read stated the life of the Turbos is expected to be 150,000 miles. Second hand owners might want to consider this.

Looking for advice on new A/S tires - Michelin Premier LTX?
macbwt replied to trockli's topic in Wheels & Tires
I will be installing the LTX's in the spring. Running the Blizzaks right now for winter. Long time Bridgestone Dueler user but last set was just terrible. The LTX reviews from actual users has sold me on them.
