  1. This is what I use to check my battery and charging system. I can recommend. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015PI7A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Sw5iFbXWQXDVZ Did you buy a Motorcraft alternator or aftermarket?
  2. Fellow in a Ranger forum asked a similar question and the response was it triggers at each engine startup. No way around it unless you turn off FordPass.
  3. I have a 2009 mix and don't have any rust that I can find. I dont remember reading where anyone else had this problem. Didn't you once write that you use a hot air blow dryer to melt the ice around your doors? If so, maybe this could be a factor in rusting? If it were me, I'd would get it fixed before it gets worse.
  4. Does adding a second horn overload the horn relay (or was it designed for two horns)?
  5. Did you check battery cable grounds?
  6. See if their willing to throw in an extended warranty. Three years would be nice. If they agree, ask them to waive the inspection fee. If they agree, then ask for $0 deductible.
  7. How old is the vehicle battery? A weak battery can cause all kinds of strange problems. The service manual simply states that low voltage will cause the hatch module to malfunction. (Doesn't give specific examples for low voltage and there's no test for intermittent malfunctions). Its important to test the battery with a CCA tester, NOT a simple voltage test. I use a Solar BA-7. First time I tested my battery it showed it was failing. Had a coupon at Ford for battery test and had them test it to verify I needed a new one. They used their tester that only tested voltage and said it was fine. It failed at the supermarket three weeks later. Heres what use: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015PI7A4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_JaBhFb3YP2RZE but I imagine you could get a CCA test at Auto Zone or the like.
  8. This stuff? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006ZS28X8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_c9khFbQ52SK54
  9. Onyx prime would make a huge grill statement! lol
  10. Original to the car. Most of the Japanese MKX's that I seen has this radio. I'm guessing that the Japanese dealers install the audio once it arrives in country. Dont know if the Japanese cars had Sync or Sirus (don't think they did). The camera was a definite dealer add on.
  11. Great! But next time, rule the road ...... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FMN90KU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ZbKgFb074ZZC8
  12. Rockauto.com has your OEM for $358.79 + shipping.
  13. No takers eh? It's a 2009 Lincoln MKX, Japanese version.
  14. This may not be helpful, I have an 09 MKX, just looked at it and you have to take the inside rear panel off. Then remove the screws from the exterior so that the fuel 'pocket ' assy can be removed. (Removes from inside the car). Your 13 may be different however.
  15. You check to see if oil low or has dirty oil? Possibly a failed oil pump can cause this (cam timing controlled by oil pressure). Couple of ideas concerning this. https://youtu.be/tplKez5IdO0 https://youtu.be/yUfmRarlUl4
  16. Just happen to run across this conversation. FTI Heres a link to the US and Canada for non-Ethanol gas stations. (Problem is, it's usually not available in 87 octane). https://www.pure-gas.org/
  17. Think I misunderstood. Your looking to add a 7 plug connector. According to ertrailer.com the only thing they offer for the 2018 is a cordless model. https://www.etrailer.com/question-320753.html I'd write and ask them. They seem to be the experts on the subject. https://www.etrailer.com/product_askexpert.aspx?Product_Code=C57674&QSource=question-320753
  18. Everyone I've seen is plug and play. No taping required. https://youtu.be/ZnQk9NrD2oM
  19. Credentials were not being recognized. Next time it happens, try rebooting.
  20. My experience with Michelin's is love hate. They are the perfect tire for 20k or so because the use a solf rubber thread. Gives s great ride but wears quickly. After the solf rubber wears away, it go into a hard, hard rubber to give the tire its longevity. At this point the tires get hard, rough and noisy. (One was really noisy). I took the car back to the authorized dealer and he told me what was going on. Michelin hooks you with the great ride (for ~20k) and then delivers on their rated life by going to hard rubber. Safe, but a crappy, noisy ride. For by MKX, I've found that Bridgestones deliver a consistent, quiet and smooth (not as good as Michelin's in the first 20k) but very good for their rated life. On my 2nd set. As for the Perrelli Scorpions, wife has a set on her Sebring convertible. Loves them. Great tire. But! The Sebring weighs less than half the AWD MKX and it's a car. Drives entirely different. For CUV's and SUV's, gotta go with a tire designed specifically for this type of ride. Stiffer sidewall, etc. Tread pattern is important and all four have to match as well.
  21. Looked back through the forum and the question was asked before, here: https://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/14410-dual-batteries/ Here's a YouTube video on adding a 2nd battery in an Explorer (although I don't see the same amount of room in the Edge). https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?url=https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/has-anyone-ever-done-a-dual-battery-set-up.17639/&share_tid=17639&share_fid=20862&share_type=t&link_source=app One other concern is whether a Lithium-ion battery can stand the heat being in an engine compartment. (?) Only way I can see is if you were able to find a battery with a shape that's tall and narrow. Not a box. Good luck with that.
