Ohhh I bet your excited. Congrats and hopefully it’s early even.

I would expect only small changes. For instance my 2011 sport didn’t get adjustable headrests but the next year they added them. Also side mirror turn signals. We might see corrections and small things each model year.

Comprehensive List of Possible Forscan Mods?
Fingernip replied to ben senise's topic in Accessories & Modifications
The start/stop actually grew on me. At first it was very annoying but now I leaned when I don’t want it I just stop and hold the brakes with minimal pressure and it won’t shut off. Usually I let it shut off and I just release the brake before traffic is moving to prevent a delay. -
Took that one too far....

Be very careful. Cold metal plus excessive force can cause cracks. I recently had to help a buddy get a lower control arm bolt out on a rusted chevy 1500 and i eventually just cut it with a hack saw blade. I had to pry the bushing material away to squeeze the blade in and slowly cut away with a bare blade.

try and wait a bit. Eventually parts will become more obtainable outside of dealers (Used and aftermarket). Check body shops for rear ended cars. We used to have a guy that bought our light assemblies by the box load. Insurance paid repairs didn't allow us to repair even minor scuffs legally and re-use on customers cars. We just sold them off in bulk and they were mostly minor defects.

Growing up in the northeast the extent of our hills is really limited to houses built on burms. Out here you might even confuse someone saying "parking brake" over "emergency brake". Street parking on hills was considered a no-no during drivers-ed for visibility concerns since our hills are soo small they can be avoided by simply parking 30 yards further up the road. Even working in a shop the only broken parking pawls I ever saw was from towed vehicles being drug out of spaces or accidents with parked cars. But as you said, anyone needing to park on hills should use it every time.

It was a more common practice to create the muscle memory back when manuals were more common. Its often referred to as an emergency brake now aday because its fairly redundant. Its not a bad practice to use it especially in hilly areas. For me I took my driving test back in 1998 and it was not part of the requirement to use it.

I have honestly never used the parking brake on any car I have ever owned other than loading boats or working on the car.
-
Another thought is the torque converter may be loaded a bit. Once in park the car settles back under its weight but the impeller drag causes it to slowly put tension back into the driveline so when the engine is shut off it then settles again.
-
Its not simply the roll when placed into park. Its a 2nd roll once the engine is shut off. You can feel the car roll once you let off the brake after placing it in park. It will settle on the parking pawl. Then shut off the engine to get out and as soon as you turn off the engine the car rolls again.
-
Yes mine does it about 50% of the time. Its like the transmission was loaded or it was holding the brakes and suddenly disengages once the engine is turned off. It doesn't feel like it will roll away and the parking pawl is definitely engaged. I wonder if its something to do with the mechanism that disconnects the driveshaft. Maybe similar to a clutch its engaged state is when its disconnected and engine off it reconnects forcing front and rear wheels to unload any drive-line forces.

It will all depend on the offset used. I like this website to verify wheel fitment. https://www.willtheyfit.com/

https://www.carplaylife.com/feature/how-to-make-apple-carplay-wireless/ I thought this was interesting. Hopefully we will see an update to sync that will enable it.

I just flip the phone upside down and leave it in the phone slot when connected to apple car play. I stuff an extra coil of cable in with it to keep it from slapping back and forth as I drive. My napkin space is in the glove box or the center dash compartment at the top. as my co-pilot is responsible for any mess cleanup on trips. My 2011 didn't have either space so both are a luxury for me. If I do any mods it would be to add a fixed dock into the bottom of the phone slot so I dont need the cable.
-
I noticed the same thing. I end up stuffing it all in the compartment and closing the door. The problem then becomes the wireless charging pad. It picks up the phone and starts charging it and apple carplay disables.

The Ford Europe is marketed differently and even comes with totally different options. There is no Lincoln Europe so Ford brand is not competing with itself. They also have specific requirements due to narrow roadways.
-
I agree. Ford includes power folding mirrors on the lincolns. If they gave every feature in both Ford and Lincoln it wouldn’t make sense. I would love to have them on mine but I definitely understand why it doesn’t have them.

Have to be doing over 45mph and button on the turn signal stock pressed. Needs roads with lane markings.
-
I noticed that also when playing with it. I tend to keep it disabled though. Ill likely only activate it when on long trips anyway. You might want to tell her to just hit the button to disable it when the road conditions are poor.

It was -2ºF here a few days ago. Car was remote started and let idle for 10 mins before I got in though. By the time i was driving the car seemed totally fine. Was outputing heat and everything.

Does anyone's steering wheel seem to get too warm also? Mine almost burns me at the joints where the different materials meet.
-
I didn’t see close to advertised mileage on any of my new cars until at least 1200 miles. I’m at 400 miles and get around 16mpg all city driving.

I asked a Ford rep about adaptive steering and was told it is not available anymore.
