This is really mature. Thanks for your response. -

Tail light Condensation
omar302 replied to d0minicano's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Drilling holes will help get the water out, but not fix the source. In my opinion, if you are trying to find a solution, try to find where the water is coming inside. Maybe it is the seal around the housing where the front and back parts meat. I also remember that in the procedure for installing the light bar, there was a note on the sequence for torquing the bolts to avoid damage, might also be worth looking into if they were not tightened correctly and caused a crack somewhere. Edit: Attached the procedure. Reversing Lamp RI.pdf -
NO paddle shifters on the 2019 Edge FWD... WHAT??
omar302 replied to tk2fast's topic in Transaxle (FWD)
Was your 2013 a V6? If so, that would, in my opinion, be the main reason. The smaller engine, 2.0L, is just not big enough to brake the vehicle as good as the bigger V6. My 2016 Sport (with a 2.7L V6, has selectshift, but just cannot "Engine brake" as good as my previous 2011 MKX with the 3.7L V6. Engine braking works by operating the engine an pump, having turbo(s) to increase engine power will not have any effect on engine braking. So even though the downsized "Turbo" engines make more power, they have less engine braking capability. -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

You have a Gen2 Edge, his is a Gen1. The stock wipers are different so maybe this wouldn't work. -
Summer heat melting sunglasses in storage area
omar302 replied to Project_Edge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
My guess is having the vista roof with the shade closed being the issue. Mainly due to the heat buildup between the shade and the glass that would eventually escape towards the overhead console. -
Summer heat melting sunglasses in storage area

Guess this is an issue with the new style overhead console. Maybe having the big sunroof is also a factor. -
Normally, no. Unless there is a software issue then the repair would be to update the software. Also, if you have a friendly tech/dealership, they could do it. But it is not a normal thing unless there is a problem.

Summer heat melting sunglasses in storage area
omar302 replied to Project_Edge's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I also face this high heating of the sunglasses making them too hot to wear. Never thought of finding a permanent solution. Hanging the sunglasses for about 10 seconds on the middle A/C vents to cool them down. Or if i remember when parking the Edge that it'll be under the sun I would not leave the sunglasses up there. Though I never faced melted nose pads! and we do get really hot summers here. -
Nice find, but how good would the black finish stand to tightening/loosening of the lug nuts or the use of impact wrenches. With the black finish, any scratch will quickly become visible, unlike a chrome finish.

Humming noise from rear speakers
omar302 replied to Daniel Mohan Dass's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
There is a thread about a vibration, but the common thing with your issue is that it would go away when a door is opened, though not yet resolved, it seems to be pointing towards the active noise cancelation. Might help you in the diagnosis. -
I'll give you my opinion now, I think the stock 20" Sport wheels are the best. Too bad they'd cost me a fortune to ship them overseas to my location. @blownZ71 had a set for sale.

outside censers acting up ?
omar302 replied to G.L Fischer's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Happens to mine also. Welcome to the forums and update us on what happens with the dealer. Note that their are only 2 side sensors on each side, one in front of the front tire and one behind the rear tire. The vehicle will extrapolate data from those sensors for the side doors. So if a front sensor mis-detects something, the display will keep showing it on the side as you drive ahead until it calculates that you have passed it. -
Moving from 21" to 20" wheels and tires. Suggestions?
omar302 replied to wofer's topic in Wheels & Tires
I enabled the reverse mirror dip feature using FORScan. Very helpful as you you noted, when in reverse if I need to see the curb I just push the mirror button for the side I want and it will dip. -
If I had the option, I'd personally go with option 2. Replace all 4 with 20" wheels. Though, if you still decide to keep the 21s, consider using tires that have a rim protector lip. They would stick out a but to take curb hits before the rims and help reduce damage to wheels. My current tires have them (Vredestein Ultrac Vorti) and they work great. They don't eliminate damage, but do reduce them significantly, especially lighter curb scrapes.

Hope you the best. Enjoy your new ride and take care.

Most of the time, the fuel pump primes when the ignition is turned on, hence people wouldn't notice it. But on recent Ford models the priming is done when the door is opened, I assume that is to make engine starting faster after you turn on the ignition.

They will send you a tune based on your strategy. If your ECU gets an update for any reason and the strategy is updated, you'd request LMS to send you revised tunes based on the new strategy.

I have tried several different turn LED signal bulbs, but the originals always were noticably brighter. Especially at a distance. Probably due to how the signal bulb housing that relies on on the bulb shining from the side. The reason being the bulb goes into the housing from the bottom upwards.

Sport lower grille odd looking (off-center)
omar302 replied to ralfwalter's topic in Exterior & Body
As far as I know, behind this piece lies the radar sensor for the adaptive cruise control, if equipped. -
Bumper to Bumper warranty is 3 years or 36 months, whichever comes first. So I don't think it would be covered. Here is the 2017 Ford Warranty booklet.

Makes sense, but then it will become more expensive!

Changing 2019 Edge's weak single horn to dual horn
omar302 replied to 9mmbullitt's topic in Accessories & Modifications
They won't consider the vehicles coming from the factory with a single horn as a defect that warrants replacing it with a dual horn. -
Didn't find the updated Edge on Ford's China website, but found the brochure for the 2016-2018 style. Some very interesting pictures there. Download page. The PDF is 30mb and I couldn't attach it. Note: Weelbase is 2850mm (112.2") which is identical to the US Edge. While length is 4878mm (192") that is 3.9" longer than the US version.
