  1. I don't know. All I know it is the cover of the bank facing the front of the Edge (with oil fill cap). It was replaced on my MKX under warranty for the same issue & I can clearly see the new cover.
  2. There was a redesign of the front valve cover to fix this issue of oil going into the intake.
  3. If the other half of the shield is still under the vehicle, you can put a strap from the front screw to the rear screw to hold the 2 halfs up. You might also be able to glue/sew/staple the 2 halves together. As far as I know, this piece is only for aerodynamics, i.e. reduce drag and/or wind noise. It covers the middle/side bottom of the Edge (under the right side front/rear passengers. I don't think the 2007-2010 Edge/MKX had it, couldn't find a part number.
  4. Yes, as stated above, it is an aerodynamic panel. There are 2 pieces, left & right: http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/bt4z7811398b http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-ford/bt4z7811398a
  5. As far as I know, the 2010 did not offer a backup camera. It was offered starting with the 2011 refresh.
  6. It requires a valve cover replacement, not the PCV valve. This post has the most info I was able to find: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/oil-found-in-air-filter.348388/page-3#post-3400444
  7. akirby, may you also ask your friend engineer if the Edge/MKX platform (2011-14 specifically) is prone to vibrating on washboard pavement? It might be a SUV/crossover issue (high center of gravity with relative short wheelbase) but on slightly washboard pavement my MKX bumps/vibrates a lot more than my wife's Altima even though it has a harder harder suspension & with lower profile tires.
  8. I remember a member or 2 that said just disconnecting & reconnecting the actuator made it work for a while, maybe that's your case and why the actuator is now working.
  9. Shocks & Struts certainly have an effect on ride quality, biggest proof are the adjustable shocks/struts such as those on the 2016 MKX and the continuously controlled damping (CCD).
  10. If I remember correctly, shocks are the same between the Edge & MKX, shocks differ only based on 22" wheels & AWD/FWD. I believe the springs are the main difference, you have many choices based on wheel size, AWD/FWD and even based on having a vista roof or not, apparently it is that much heavier. So if you really want the MKX ride, go for the springs also.
  11. I think it depends on the washer fluid being used or if you are in freezing zones. Here with 120+ heat in summer & parked under the sun still didn't cause a problem with the original nozzles on my 2011 MKX. Though I would like to aim them lower as especially on the driver side it just doesn't reach the lower part.
  12. Did you try disconnecting the battery for ~10 minutes & then re-connecting it? Maybe the compass would reset & work. As for your Sync issues (display changing on its own or turning off the radio, often difficult to turned back on), these are not normal issues & you should mention this to your dealer. You have an extended warranty on the APIM that is responsible for MyFord Touch. It might be a hardware issue or it might require a complete re-flash that only a dealer can do.
  13. The new BMW movie was already released : https://youtu.be/jzUFCQ-P1Zg
  14. Hi Mac, thanks for the video again. Did you notice any difference in the Edge with the new purge valve?
  15. Just a thought, could also be the fan Relay. Though I don't remember any Edge owner reporting it failing.
  16. Yes it is a touch button, and it is the only way to turn on the flashers. Touch it & hold for a second & it should emit a tone like all other touch buttons (HVAC & Radio), if it does not then you might need a replacement panel. The 2013-2014 models have a physical button in the same place & have heard from some who were able to install a 2013-2014 panel on a 2011-2012 model. You can also try cleaning the button as it is a capacitive button, also maybe try cleaning it from behind.
  17. If the high beam indicator in the instrument cluster is also stuck on (does not turn off) then I'd be even more inclined toward the turn signal switch (MFS). If it were sticking shutters the high beam indicator should turn on/off with switch.
  18. None, as far as I know, at least not on the 3.5/3.7 V6.
  19. This thread has a how to fix the a notchy turn signal lever, though it is a different issue, the removal & installation of the switch is the same for the 2011 Edge. Also note that you a need a 2011-2012 switch only, Newer model's wont work correctly. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/notchy-turn-signal-lever-fix.388119/
  20. I'd say it's most probably the switch itself. It's not hard to change. http://m.ebay.com/itm/281559535475 You can also remove fuse number 39 from the driver side kick panel fuse box
  21. Unfortunately the same happened to my MKX!! The guides only come with the complete rail, ~ $345 for each side. Searching around online, I found some Escape owners that bought repair kits from a company called TG Automotive. I just e-mailed to ask if they plan to offer a similar kit for the Edge. Maybe if they get enough requests they'd consider it. Also, anyone can help in the procedure for changing them? They are called "Lift Channels", parts numbers 7T4Z78502C07B & 7T4Z78502C06B. My dealer quoted me $2,200/- for the whole job, they'd probably go down to ~ $1500, but that's still too much.
  22. What do you mean by it goes too fast? you're supposed to be controlling the brake & accelerator pedals. I think you didn't read manual nor the instructions on the screen!

    IDS/Scan tool?

I bought thesame item as this, from the same seller, works fine for HS & MS Can with Forscan. The Camera programme function can also be done. http://m.ebay.com/itm/281861294247
  24. E-Bay is also a good source. Here is one & you can make them an offer. Note: Make sure the mirror looks like yours, early 2011 models had larger mirrors like the 2007-2010 models while later builds had smaller mirrors used in 2012-2014 models. @MikeKiloXrayOhNiner replaced his older mirrors to the newer style, you can see the before/after photos to see the difference at the end of this thread
  25. Take it in and ask a for a rental! no need to be without a car.
