  1. I'm jealous. Sunday I got to fix a rotting patio door. It started raining and I put my hand down in a pile of dog poop on the deck. Oh well, I need a tropical beach with a palm tree to lay under with an umbrella drink! It was the best of time and the worst of times. Once I stopped gagging from the dog dung it was really funny. (my wife couldn't stop laughing)
  2. Low pressure side is buried on the left side (passenger) all the way under the air intake cowling. Really hard to connect to.
  3. The $84.00 difference isn't worth the hassle of buying it on EBay, waiting for delivery and hoping the part is correct. Don't forget the dealer is doing the installation for free. Sounds like a dealer that wants you to return.
  4. EBay has a bunch of these plastic clips. do a search for ford fender clips. Something there will match or be close enough to work. You can always go to the dealer or a body shop to get these generic type clips. I used Chevy fender clips on my Jeep and it still starts in the morning lol.
  5. Can you hear the motor trying to work or is it just dead? Could be switch, motor, wiring. If it's under warrantee let them worry about it You could pull the plug on the motor and test for power when the switch is used. also test for power on each side of the switch to see if power is getting through the switch. your getting power to the switch if the other side works.
  6. I bought my 2007 from a friend in work. it was his dads car who had passed away 6 months before. I took the car home to see if I wanted it. It was raining and I parked the car in the garage. The car was filthy form standing for 6 months. I decided to wipe off the car to see how bad the paint was. When I did I hit the last 2 buttons on the keypad and locked the doors. My exact words were "OH S**T what the **** do I do now." the keys were in the ignition. His mother actually had the card with the factory numbers in her wallet since they bought the car. Since that time I have set an additional combination that I won't forget. This is one of the best features Ford offers.
  7. I just replaced the mirror motor on the drivers side of my 2007 sel. The job is easy but if your not cheap like me you should spend the extra $15 bucks and get an original part Ford motor. I bought the $43 Dorman copy and I'm disappointed. The motors are noisy and the adjustment is not as precision as the original. It does work so I'm leaving it alone. The old one moved left and right but not up and down. Oh well, It's not used that often.
  8. "A little more smarter" Very poor English. When you're older than dirt you learn how to speak properly. I love my Edge. Welcome onguard464 from someone who is also older than dirt.
  9. Yep, the car battery. Electronics are very susceptible to low and inconsistent voltage.
  10. I actually pass the vermouth bottle over the glass. Any molecules that make it through the bottle and fall in the glass are the perfect amount.
  11. I just want a Verrrrrry dry Vodka Martini. I had a bad experience with Gin. By verrrrrry dry I mean Vodka from the freezer in a nice conical glass with a few olives. Comfortably numb and a little stupid, ahhh
  12. Ford just replace my tank. I looked at it and it looked fine, but they said it needed replacement. Great dealer in Danbury Ct. Gave me a loaner and replaced the same amount of gas in the tank that was there before. The low fuel said I had 35 miles to go and it came back with 32 miles to empty. I filled it up and all seems well. They are replacing the tanks with metal ones. They also replaced all the brackets and gaskets. There is some kind of coating on it. All in all I'm happy with the job.
  13. That's funny. I just commented on two other questions about CV Joints. My FWD 2007 had both axles replaced aver a year ago to fix one side. I did both because my friend did them. A little over a hundred for both fronts on eBay. Made in USA and new not rebuilt. Labor was the large size Johnny Walker Black. Try a trusted mechanic. The dealership will scare you with prices.
  14. Same thing on a FWD 2007. New front axles and it's fixed. I replaced both even thought only the drivers side was bad. It's nice when the noise goes away.
  15. Very nice car. Some people like to through water on a nice fire. I love the way the seats hold up to wear. 180000 miles and they look like new. I have a FWD 2007 with 105,000 miles and the only repair of note is the replacing both front axles. (only one was getting noisy). This is my favorite vehicle of all times. Oh yeah, Check out recalls. See if they did the gas tank recall. They are now in stock at a lot of dealers. Check to see if they have it in stock first.
  16. Instead of adjusting the stops up, you may need to adjust the latch down to pull the hood down on the stops. at that point you can adjust the stops so the hood gaps are good. I had a friend with a body shop fix this problem in a chevy by putting a block in the middle of the hood and pushing down on the front corners which will bend the hood back into shape. This is a common practice.
  17. After a brake booster repair, the brakes are bead to remove air from the lines. When doing this there is a chance they broke or disconnected one of the wheel sensors. These detect wheel rotation and activate the traction control. This system will self diagnose a malfunction and give you a warning light if something is not right.
  18. I'm thinking the lock is bad or dirty. After all the key is used to start the car so it obviously works.
  19. Just made an appointment to have my FWD tank inspected. I have no leaks or smell. This car has only spent the last 3 years in Connecticut and the rest in Arizona so I don't have any problems with rust. The recall is to inspect and put sealer around the areas that will potentially rust or replace the tank if it is necessary. For me I prefer this to having a good tank replaced and having the dealership possibly damage other components. They said that they have AWD tanks in stock and would have to check if they had an FWD tank for me. I am going to call before just in case. They are also giving me a loaner car for the day they will have mine. This is Colonial Ford in Danbury Ct. I have asked around and they have a pretty good reputation.
  20. BMW had the same problems with their big rims. My nephew had to replace 3 out of 4 rim rims on a 325. They gave him the same BS about it being pot hole damage. It must have been one big mutha of a pot hole lol. I guess they don't think its a safety problem.
  21. Just blew a front tire on my 2007 FWD. My tires have less than 10,000 miles on them and were all put on at the same time. I put the new tire on the rear axle with the remaining front tire and the rears rotated to the front. I just think that keeping the diameters the same reduces wear on the differential. My wife's Grand Cherokee has always had all 4 replaced at the same time. I also believe that rotating front to rear on a 4 wheeler to keep the diameters equal and reduces wear on the transfer case.
  22. They will have a beautiful outdoor fresh air smell. lol If it worked on the chrome on the front, I don't see any harm in trying it on the wheels. Let us know
  23. Looks nice. My dog travels in the back of my Edge when we go to the park for walks. I keep shampooing the to keep it clean. This winter has been especially muddy and the carpet color is really light tan. (it used to be) I like the carpet because it gives her a better grip. I may go to the carpet store and buy a nice remnant in a dark brown color. Thanks for getting my wheels turning.
  24. My 2007 has the same noisy brake problem when backing. I find it is only after the car has been parked overnight and the disks got wet from rain. After a short drive and using the brakes a few times the problem goes away till the next time. I just keep thinking my neighbors are saying why doesn't he fix that POS. It's really not that bad and I think it's just worse inside the car.
