  1. Probably using circuit breakers instead of fuses.
  2. Just buy a new one off Ebay and have the dealer cut the key (or locksmith).
  3. Hi, and welcome to the forum. Unfortunately if you have only one FOB you will have to go to the dealer, buy another one, have them hook up the new one to the computer and program it. Also have the key cut to your door. This may be an expensive event. You may be able to save money by buying a IA off Ebay and using a local locksmith to do the programming and key cut. As the car is new (to you), consider verifying previous maintenance. It's important to change the fluids such as coolant and AWD on schedule. Also, the plugs need to be changed at 90k miles. Going longer can damage the coils.
  4. ^^^ 2x Files on the Web could very well be corrupted. Load it in your ACU and you could very well brick your unit. Wait until you can download the exact file needed for your VIN. There's nothing so important that it can't wait a week or two.

  6. I switched to these and am well satisied. Cheapest fix without going to HID and adding glare to oncoming drivers. Philips 9005 X-tremeVision Upgrade Headlight Bulb, 2 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01C5QY7DW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_7-tyAbPZ3SMSA
  7. Also have a 2009 MKX and would never drop down to an Edge. Lincoln dealer get you a loaner? (Mine's still under extended warranty & I get a loaner if they keep overnight.) Wonder why it's taking so long to find problem?

    Sync voice

Was on a business trip today, few hundred miles, mind wandering, got to thinking, what would navigation be like if they used Ozzy Osborne for the voice? Or perhaps Tiny Tim ("Tip Toe Through The Tulips" fame). Or perhaps the foul-mouthed Marine drill sergeant R. Lee Ermey? "Turn now, maggot. You missed the turn, you worthless moron, get #### outta you ears. Now make a ####### U turn. NOW YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF ####. TURN or I'll kill the ignition". Mind wonders after an hour or two on the road and nav voice gets annoying.
  9. The 30k service is in the owners manual under severe service. I wouldnt consider any other fluids other than Motorcraft. It's folly to think that Ford wouldn't know best as what to use.
  10. One other consideration to consider is the lease contract will require you to turn in the car in same condition (less normal wear) as when you received it. This means you will be charged for every ding, scratch, road rash and anything else they find during the return inspection. And not just the dealer, the leasing company (who actualky owns the car) can also find problems and send a separate bill even after the dealer has signed off. Had a business associate that got "dinged" over $700 when he turned in his Navigator. (And he was fanatical about taking care of his car).
  11. According to the owners manual it's 150,000 miles or 30,000 if you tow a trailer or carry a load on the roof. I agree with akirby's post, at 60,000 intervals (30,000 if you use the car for towing). Also change the coolant (more important than transmission) and don't forget brake fluid & PTU fluid (if equipped). Of all the fluids, coolant is the most important.

  13. OK, I called HERE Maps and there is NO release for Sync-3 cars, because .... (long pause to test patience), is because, Ford has NOT sent HERE Maps any information on the Sync-3 system. Yet. It appears (at least on the surface), that no one was assigned to follow up on this minor detail, in Ford. FAKE ENGINEERING! (ok, sorry, got carried away).
  14. Wonder if the technician checked the connector running to the sensor. Often there's hidden corrosion in the connectors that's hiding the real problem. We had a hanger queen CH-46 (helo) in Nam, that had been down for over two weeks. We checked everything, every inch of wire in every harness. Changed several modules. Finally called in the Boeing rep and he went right to the connector on the generator. Corroded. (We had this connector off to couple test equipment to the generator, but no one ever thought to look inside the wiring connector).
  15. Using a DVD it still takes an hour to install. There are a lot of factors concerning a WiFi connection, noise can slow a connection way down, distance from the router, construction, etc.It would be nice, but I would question that these speeds are practical in real world. But they intend to update via wireless for sync, so who knows?
  16. I believe it means "Break in circuit for interior temperature sensor".
  17. Good to hear. Please let us know how this turns out. Best of luck.
  18. I can't see doing this via a download. The software is on 2 disks, say 1 gig of data. Can you imagine how long a download would take? More likely it will come out on a 2 gig USB memory card. More likely, the concerns relate to preventing piracy. Update once and sell on ebay. Probably developing a method to link the installation to a single serial number of one ACU and block from use on any other nav unit.
  19. As glass breakage is not covered under the Ford warranty, consider contacting your insurance company as it's probably covered under your comprehensive policy.
  20. One item on this comes to mind, not that anyone here would be affected, but there are thousands of cars involved in floods down south that are reemerging on sales lots are reduced prices. Just something to keep in the back of one's mind.
  21. Check fuse #10 in the passenger compartment fuse panel.

Less miles almost always. Buy the Ford warranty.
