Well, I think that neither of you or me are "right" or "wrong" here… You said the key word here is "taste" . I'm not saying "good" or "bad" either, I'm saying tastes are "different" from one person to another. "Different strokes for different folks". That's about sums it up! Claude. P.S: I'm 67 y/o…

I see you guys come up with several solutions (not closing the door, locking using the keypad, different key fob settings, etc…) but I still think that nothing beats disabling it. Imagine having to leave your car door open while the engine is running… that's an invitation to car theft...…naaaah…. --> D-I-S-A-B-L-E it! It makes me think…back in the '60's there were no alarms, honking horns, etc…and people didn't have the habit of leaving their car keys inside their cars…so I don't wee why it should be worse today… Claude.

--> You guys are funny… You're paying for a chromed model then cover it in black!… I'm at the opposite from you. The main reason why I chose the Titanium over the ST was not price-related but rather because of the black trim… Too much black on the ST …the grille, side windows trim, wheels, etc…too much black!…Usually the more chrome, the more luxurious it looks. The ST looks like a lower end model to me. I love "bling" and I wanted as much chrome as I could get soooo, I ordered the "Elite" package because it comes with the chrome mouldings at the bottom of the doors and at the bottom of the front bumper Claude.

It's like way back around 1968 when they introduced the "key in the ignition warning buzzers". At first, everybody thought it was a good idea but after a few years, no one was really paying attention to them anymore, it became bothersome and people started to delete them. Same thing for that "double honk" feature. I find it more annoying than useful (to me at least…)…and about the situation you described above well, if people paid more attention to what they're doing, that wouldn't happen. Claude.

A big thanks to my good friend Claude ("cv27") who used Forscan and disabled the silly "double honk". He also enabled the flasher to flash 6 times (instead of the factory 3) on my 2019 Titanium. The "double honk" think is very annoying and in my opinion useless…and about the lane changing flasher feature going from 3 to 6 times is much better because it gives you just a little more time to actually change lanes before turning off . Can I disable artificial engine sound in cabin?
2FAST4U replied to Jombi's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
There's something it my girlfriend's '14 Mustang..but I don't know how it works… I saw that there is a tube coming off the air intake system going to some kind of valve close to the firewall but after that I dunno… I really can't say if the engine sound comes from that tube or if the sound comes out of the car's speakers…but if it's from the speakers, what happens when the audio system is off? Claude. -
I find that de-badging makes a vehicle too "anonymous"…People look at it and wonder "what make of car is that??"… As for being "sporty"…Mmmm...how so? Personally, I think there has to be some kind of "identification" or "name" on it … Claude.
-
Nice Edge Matthew! …but…why de-badge it?… I'm proud to let others know that I drive an "Edge Titanium", so why hide it? Funny but you're going the opposite than me!… I actually want more chrome! I bought a '19 Titanium and I ordered it with the "Elite" package so I could have the added chrome trim at the bottom of the doors and at the bottom of the front bumper too….but I agree with you about the top of the windshield tint strip to make it easier on the eyes! Have fun with your new Edge, Claude.

2FAST4U replied to WooK's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
It"s going to look awful…like those vehicles they use for safaris if Africa. Well I guess it's "to each his own"... -
Front end hitch receiver compatible with 2008?

You can't be serious!… -
It would've been nice to see pictures of the device, not only the box…! …also where and how to install, how does in plug etc... Claude.

I like the tint on the taillights but the grille …? No. (sorry) Claude.

In my '16 Titanium, I had to have the usb connector (hub?) replaced for a newer, updated one and also update the software from 2.0 to 3.0. Then everything worked fine. Claude.
-
Yes I had that small "drawer" in my '16 Titanium but in my '19, it's like you said a small "pull off panel" cover, but I haven't tried to pull it off so I don't know what's behind it. At first I thought it could be some kind of fuse panel but if I remember, the fuse panel is located behind the driver's side kick panel……so I still don't know. Claude.

…Maybe I could have them make a "clear bra" for my girlfriend?… Claude.
-
Exactly. If one day you decide to sell your vehicle, if a potential buyer shows up and doesn't like it, don't worry, let him go as there will always be someone else who will. As for the hood deflector, I find that they're very unattractive and were popular in the early '90s especially on large trucks but now there are much better solutions than that. I just had my brand new '19 Titanium's front end wrapped with a clear film . The window tinting guys usually do these, just go ask them. Claude.
-
Yeah and way more ugly too! Claude.
-
Exactly. I just got out of my 2016 Titanium and got in my new 2019 Titanium and I like the "auto stop" feature. I didn't really have to get used to it because I did drive other vehicles which had the auto stop before, so it wasn't completely "new" to me and I knew what to expect. Some people find it annoying but I'm ok with it….and to those who don't like it, I say give yourself a chance for two weeks and you'll get accustomed and won't mind it after that. Claude.

Yep, …got it! Thank you! Claude. -
I need to do a few changes in my signature (which shows up at the bottom of each of my posts) but since the site's been "updated", I don't know how to do this… Help anyone please?... Claude.

Ok, ok… but personally, the "auto-start" feature doesn't really bother me so I leave it on. Claude. -

Disable the "auto-start"?… There's a switch on the console just for that!... Claude. -
Backup Camera Picture Upside Down
2FAST4U replied to sblasl's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
The exact same thing happened on my 2011 MKX and unfortunately the only solution was to bring it to the dealer to have the camera replaced... Claude. -
What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
2FAST4U replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
"Gadjetjq", I can see the difference but … WHY ? What's the benefit in doing that? Claude. -
Adding Navigation - How Do I Do That?
2FAST4U replied to Dmtaurus's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
If you look at the upper right corner of your screen, does it say "Information'' or "Navigation" ? … If it says "Navigation" then your vehicle has the GPS feature but if it says "Information", then you're screwed, no GPS. As for the SD cards obviously they're for vehicles which have the GPS feature and they contain the program with all the maps etc, and can be updated for a more recent one if necessary. Claude.
