2016 edge sulfur smell under hard acceleration

That TSB is for the older generation Edge. There is a newer one for 2015+ models (TSB 18-2057 - link). To test if this is really you issue, run the A/C in outside air mode (recirculate off). -
So, had the issue happen again a few days ago. This time I was remote starting while I was looking at the vehicle, the hazards flashed once (for the lock button press) then nothing. The keypad entry worked, same as before. So I tryed tapping on the relays/fuse boxes in the Engine compartment and under the dash, nothing happened. Also, tried to connect using ForScan. the strange thing is that it connected to the "PCM", but not to the Body Control Module. Normally, with the ignition off it is the other way around. So now I am thinking it is from the Body Control module. Screenshots attached. Will see how this goes. Of course, as usual, quick disconnect/reconnect of the battery and the car started up fine.

Replaced the Key Fobs battery. Got a "Key Battery Low" message. Battery lasted just over 3 years. This is for the 2019 style keyfob I added to my 2016 Edge (link). -
2016 Edge - A/C water Drain location?

Update. Cooling performance was reduced, so dealer eventually diagnosed it as a leaking evaporator. Currently at the dealer of replacement. So the smell was probably of the leaking A/C gas. Once they remove the evaporator, and before re-assembly, I plan to take a look where the drain hole is. -

When the issue happens, try to disconnect the vehicle's battery for a few seconds and re-connect it. See if this helps reset the electronice. -

I know this is an old thread, but read a similar finding on the Fusion Sport forums (2.7 EcoBoost - link) and they refer to it as a dyno plug, unplugging it shuts the traction and stability control off. -
Towing Capacity on 2016 2.7l

As per the service manual for the 2015 model, first year for Gen2, there are differences in the cooling systems for vehicles equipped with the tow package. So better cooling is part of the reason why the factory tow package allows for more towing capacity. I would use epoxy/glue. Just trying as much as possible to keep the glue on all the broken plastic screw areas. It has to be permanent as it was not supposed to be detached that way.

I would use the General model specific (Gen I or Gen II) or Engine (2.0, 2.7, 3.5 or 3.7) since transmission issues are usually grouped that way. But a specific sub category as suggested would be useful. In any case, I personally use the "unread" view, so I would see new posts from all forums regardless of sub categories. -

For the 3.5 & 2.7 V6 Engines, the dipstick is under/part of the fill cap. -
US model Edges up to 2015 used SD Cards for Navigation data. Those had MyFord Touch systems (Sync 2).

Do you mean when put in Sport mode without using the paddles (if equipped)? If yes, then that is supposedly normal as the highest ratio is not used in "Sport" mode. However, if you have paddle shifters, try to upshift while in "7" and it should manually upshift. The issue of Ford eliminating one gear is related to the ST model with the V6 Ecoboost 2.7L. That transmission is completely different than the one used in other models. On another note, this is the first time someone mentions that Sport mode now shows the current gear shift. It has long been requested, but was not implemented. Previously, on the Edge it would only show the current gear if in manual shift mode.

If I were you, I'd try to read the error codes while the problem is still present, before turning off the vehicle. More specifically, using ForScan. I remember before in some older models where the throttle body would fail and caused issues including getting into limp mode, but trouble codes would get erased once the vehicle is turned off and restarted.

That is it. If you like to know more, the Lincoln Nautilus, models with the same Engine/Transmission, still retains the 8-Speed function as per this article. Maybe someone with a 2021 Nautilus 2.7L can confirm it shifts manually 1-8. Furthermore, this 8-speed transmission is actually an upgrade to the pervious 6-speed used in 2015-2018 Sport models by adding 2 more gears. The 2nd (which is now disabled) and the 8th which is an additional overdrive ratio.

Follow up, I just received my order and I can confirm they are the same lug nuts for the Ford Edge. So if you need a set of 5 or more OEM lug nuts, buy the Ford Performance part M-1012-M.

Ford should make a 2-row version of the Explorer to replace the Edge. Would be RWD based, add more sales volume to the Explorer nameplate and the ST version would be better than the Edge ST.

Impressive time. Seems the transmission was taking its time to shift. You would probably get a much better time with performance shift tune, though I personally did not like it and kept the stock shift tune for every day drivability. Did the tranny also shift 2-3 before 60? I was under the impression it shifted after 60. No wonder the 2019-2020 ST was slower if it had to shift 1>2>3>4 given the extra 2nd compared to the 2015-2015 Sport and shorted final drive ration (3.65 vs. 3.16).

I recently found that there is a Ford Performance part (M-1012-M - link) that includes 5 lug nuts for the Mustang (which has the same lug nuts as the 2015+ Edge) for a retail price of USD 15. Searching online I find it for even less (eBay listing for 4 sets - Levittown Ford Parts). Making each lug cost nearly half as much as buying them individually. I ordered the set from the eBay listing and will update once received & installed to confirm. I had previously installed black lug nuts from Veritek (link to thread about them) however they quickly started to show rust after a few wheel removals/installations.

2016-2018 look the same but the 2019 was a refresh, updates front/rear styling, 8-speed auto transmission, rotary dialer. The newer the model you get the better in my opinion.
