Help with DRL harness.
omar302 replied to cchenf50's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Why didn't you just try with a dealer to program the DRL? It's a simple program by dealer. -
Try another Edge Sport at the dealership just to make it's not something particular to your car.

Just noticed that you found it. Also found another one, might be useful. TSB 07-16-11.pdf TSB 07-25-4.pdf -
The 2016 Edge Sport got the adaptive steering. So it is a bit different than the 2015.

Car does not recognise keys
omar302 replied to chris275's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Try the Key fob battery first. I believe what was meant earlier in the post is that if the Car's battery is old, it might affect a lot of the electronics in the car, so it would be a good idea to change it since it would require changing anyway (4-5 years old) and this way you'd at least know it is not the reason for electronics going haywire. The attached TSB might also be related. TSB 11-4-14_Inability to unlock.pdf -

Wiring for Paddle Shifters - Sport & non-Sport
omar302 replied to omar302's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
Trying to get this to work, anyone can help with diagrams for component locations for the 2011-2014 Edge/MKX? specifically in the dash area, something like this for the Explorer? -
Paddle Shifters in non-sport trims
omar302 replied to lakeguy77's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Yes Bob, I did understand your point and that some features might need a software programming which I also agree with, I was just trying to state that even though a transmission feature would seem more likely to require re-programming (being more complex than DRL or Cruise Control), It was proved in other Ford products that sometimes (not always) simple plug & play will work. Though, unfortunately, it did not work for me (yet). -
The 3.5L & 3.7L Engines are rated the same when installed in the Edge/MKX with the 6F50 tranny and when installed in the 2011+ F150/Mustang. So there doesn't seem to be any de-tuning of the 3.5L/3.7L Engine when installed with the 6F50 tranny.

The TSB was for vehicles built before 1/1/2008. OP's Edge is a 2011.

Paddle Shifters in non-sport trims
omar302 replied to lakeguy77's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Bob, some features do require software programming, but some don't. On the 2011+ Explorer, those without a factory towing package don't have the tow/haul mode/button for the transmission. Simply replacing the switch with one that has the button will enable the feature, this I saw personally on a Friend's 2013 Explorer that didn't have the feature from factory.. I have also read about a Focus owner who added SelectShift to his car by replacing the shifter assembly with one that has it. Also, for the 2011-2015 Edge, the +/- buttons are already on the shifter & they work, so the programming is definitely there, it is most probably a wiring thing to connect the paddle shifters so they'd work. -
2016 Edge Sport - Sync 3 Observations
omar302 replied to Cougster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Congratulations on the new ride. Did you try the switch on the end of the turn signal stalk? -
Take it the dealer. The APIM, the heart of the MyFord Touch, has an extended warranty, 5 years from original purchase date and since your Edge is a 2012 it should still be covered.

This is cheaper & the guy who does it "jmr061" is member on this forum & a very active member on http://www.explorerforum.com:

The 2011-2015 Edge has 4 bulbs type 3157K. 2 on each side, 1 in the upper half & 1 in the lower half. The bulb is a dual filament type so 1 filament operates the parking lights & the other for the brakes. Most probably you have the brake filament burnt, hence only the tails/park lights are still working.

2016 Titanium Features - clarification?
omar302 replied to mjonis's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
1) Yes, power means mirror adjustment is power. 2) Yes it does have a power operated sunshade. 3) Yes. 4) On the 2016, Acoustic glass is on Windshield and the two front side windows. On the 2015 only the windshield. 5) Yes. HID & Halogen lights are both projectors. 6) Yes, Sync has USB connectivity. 7) There are USB charging points, but not sure how many. 8) They are the lights under the side view mirrors that illuminate the ground near the vehicle when you remote unlock or open a door. -
Ambient Lighting Available Trim
omar302 replied to OnTheeEdge's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
As per the 2016 Edge Order Guide, the Ambient lights are standard on both the Titanium & Sport models. -
It seems you missed the post just above yours!

For the 1st question, the answer is no. The 20" wheels are a separate option than the 301A or 302A packages which included the push button start. But it seems the majority of optioned up (is that even term?) Edges are also optioned with 20" wheels. For your information, most people never notice the difference in ride/noise between the 18" & 20" wheels on the Edge, some even go as far as recommending the 22" wheels on the Sport. I myself never tried them back to back to make my own judgment. Also, you might want to look at the Lincoln MKX, it is the luxury version of the Edge, but about 99% of mechanical parts are identical, so the parts & service are the same, many body parts are different, obviously, but when shopping used the price different might not be that much. Also the Lincoln has a 4 year /50K mile bumper to bumper & 6 year/70K mile powertrain warranties (1 year & 10-14K miles more than Ford).
