  1. How do the side taillights illuminate? Do you have amber or red rear turn signals? I am asking out of curiosity because they are supposed to match the middle part. SE/SEL have different side taillights than Titanium/Sport models. The look the same, but illuminate differently. I posted some photos here previously.
  2. Or use ForScan and your programming cost will be limited to buying a compatible OBD adapter.
  3. I did not defend Ford, just stated an observation due to how rare members departed failed RDUs on this Forum or several other Ford forums with similar powertrain designs (2011-2019 Explorer, Fusion, Flex, Taurus). Regarding the programming, see my post above, 2nd paragraph. In other words, yes, it needs programming as not entering this code might cause damage. The code needs to be entered in the PCM so it matched correctly due to manufacturing tolerances.
  4. it is strange to require a new RDU (Rear Differential Unit) at 100K. Maybe your Edge went in deep water. I cannot comment on the labor required for changing the RDU, but the programming part is simply a code that needs to be entered into the PCM. The code would be on a sticker on the Active Torque Coupling (that is attached to the RDU). This can be done with ForScan, might need to email the developers to add it for your year if it is not their by default.
  5. @BigBerky Do the reverse lights work? They are on the same light assembly. I also remember there was a member with a 2015 Sport that came from the factory with a SE/SEL middle light section that does not illuminate, I'd suggest to check the connector and make sure it has all the pins. The connector for the light bar should be in the middle of the lift gate after removing the trim. There are 3 connectors, not sure which one is for the parking lights, might check all 3. 6. The reverse lights for 2015+ models are LEDs that are part of the light assembly, cannot be replaced like normal bulbs.
  7. My "not so certain" information is that MKX, MKZ & Explorer Platinum will work. Lincoln MKC will NOT work, even though it looks the same & would fit, it will not work due to it having a single fuel sender. In all cases, you still need the Euro Edge Cluster Mask.
  8. PDF copy of @Gregertech post attached. Rear Camber Adjustment.pdf
  9. I don't know type of sensor Ford uses for the low washer fluid warning, but some makes don't work well with some types of washer fluids like Rain-X.
  10. 2015 model procedure attached, 2018 should be similar. Roof Opening Panel Glass.pdf Power Roof Opening Panel Initialization.pdf

  12. Middle East also gets it. Also, the 2019+ ST has it but with regular exhaust tips.
  13. First I'd like to apologise for derailing the thread from its original topic. But just a follow-up to the above, my earlier 2011 MKX did NOT have a PTU temp sensor, nor does a 2015 MKS EcoBoost (AWD) I've seen. The AWD off due to overheating on those vehicles would trigger through other means, I don't know if it's a RDU temperature sensor (if there is any) or by some sort of algorithm. The addition of the PTU temperature sensor, if I recall, was (or began) for Police Interceptors and it was to trigger a PTU fluid change requirement, not for AWD functionality. Edit: seems the sensor was first added to 2013 Taurus SHO (PP) and Interceptors as per this site. But it might have been in the 2011 Explorer due to its multi-terrain system & off road intentions. But definitely not on the Edge before 2015.
  14. There is a PID for it and with ForScan I can read the temp. That's how I knew my 2016 Edge Sport had it. I use the Android ForScan lite with an OBDLink MX Bluetooth.
  15. Mine also does, but I thought it was a Middle East build spec thing. Now we neef to know whether a warning message comes up when needed or not.
  16. They should have done what they did with the Police Interceptor & Utility, added a fluid temperature sensor that would trigger and indicate a PTU fluid change requirement when needed.
  17. You should be able to do it with ForScan software on a windows PC/Laptop and a good quality OBD2 adapter like the OBDLink EX (wired/USB) or OBDLink MX+ (wireless/Bluetooth).
  18. You should be able to to do the upgrade easily similar to a vehicle sold inside US. Only issue would be the Navigation maps should you decide to get it. If you get a Sync 3 without navigation your upgrade should be identical to US vehicles.
  19. I have read multiple oil analysis reports from many owners posted online, there was never an issue reported of inadequate oil filtering using Motorcraft engine oil filters. The general consensus is that they are at minimum average or better. So I'd trust Ford's recommendation on the oil filter. Another thing, the GT500 uses thicker oil, 5W-50 vs. the Edge's 5W-30, and probably at a different pressure/flow rate. So the filter medium might be optimized accordingly. The EcoBoost filter is also branded with EcoBoost, might be a marketing thing, or for a reason. Finally, the service manual has a note in engine oil drain & refill section regarding the stem o-ring that is not included with the GT500 filter:
  20. I had a 2011 MKX, it had the bigger engine (3.7 V6) like the Edge Sport. Even when temperatures in the summer was above 50 degrees C with A/C, the engine never overheated. Had the original radiator. Only when the fans got weak did the A/C stop cooling while in stopped traffic and outside temp was 51 or 52 C. The stock cooling system is very capable. If your engine is overheating then you have a problem that needs fixing, not an upgraded item. Compare the fan noise and air flow with another Edge so you can be sure if they are really ok or not.
  21. On the 2015+ if a new battery is installed, it has to be reset using a scan tool. The below is from the 2015 Service Manual:
  22. It is common nowadays for car batteries fail in 2-3 years, cars are full of electronics and rely on the battery a lot more than before. Since your Edge is a 2018, the battery is actually more than 2 years old. But, it should be covered under the vehicle's 3 year 36k Mile warranty. So if your still within the warranty period, have the dealer replace it for you.
  23. Welcome & congrats on the new ride. So what does the star white look like? Similar to a pearl white effect?
  24. I haven't found any touch up paint for the wheel. But, FYI, it was officially called "21" premium painted Tarnish dark low gloss aluminum"
