  1. Let the dealer recheck the windshield and make sure it is sealed properly. Did you drive it before the replacement? If yes, was the sound similar? Also, what is your reference for excess wind noise? I mean what is your other car? An SUV will have more wind noise compared to a sedan due to higher drag.
  2. The vehicle is designed so that you always use the keyfob or keypad to access. You are not supposed to use the physical key except in emergencies (dead keyfob battery or dead vehicle battery). Using the physical key, the vehicle's perimeter alarm system would trigger once the door is opened (12 seconds) as you have not unarmed it with the fob or keypad. There is no physical switch inside the keyhole to disarm the alarm, so in the alarm's perspective, opening the door with the key is similar to an unauthorized entry.
  3. That is exactly what you should do. You should read the Owners Manual (link to PDF version). It is stated in the owners manual: With a dead battery in the keyfob, the only way to start the engine is using the backup slot in the center console.
  4. So no new TSB. Those essentially meant the 2018-2019 would get a replacement pan with a press in gasket, while the 2015-2017 still get the old type pan with RTV silicone sealant.
  5. The last TSB I saw only updated the 2018 and newer only, not the 2015-2017. Is there a newer TSB? The old TSB was discussed in this thread.
  6. The switch will most probably work, but not the rain sensing function. At the minimum, you'll need a different windshield and a rain sensor that mounts on the windshield, then some programming. The difference between the switches is probably only the writings on them, function is the same.
  7. @WWWPerfA_ZN0W Interesting how the (2015-2018) thermostat comes as an assembly with the housing. Also noticed that it has a small bypass outlet that doesn't go through the thermostat. @lildisco Do you notice a difference between both models in terms of how fast the interior heat comes on during that warm up time? Like what several members stated above that it might be a thermostat issue, but I wouldn't expect it to since everything else is ok. I remember reading that with auto-start-stop, there is also a heat-pump to circulate coolant during engine stop. that could also be a factor.
  8. I don't see why it wouldn't work. On the 2G Fusion forums several had upgraded from this one to the twin screen one. And as long as your getting the cluster from an Edge of similar model range, the lens that comes with it should also work. The only downside with this screen is the display's resolution will remind your that's it's the "lower level" cluster.
  9. As I don't live in US/Canada, shipping to multiple parties is difficult and expensive. That's why I am trying to avoid having to ship it to get it programmed. Mileage can be increased using ForScan, but not decreased. As a mod, it is reasonable to pay for the cluster (used) & lens costs, plus shipping. Over that it becomes overpriced and I just can't justify it to myself. And, yes, I have also been looking for MKX clusters. Thanks for the tip.
  10. Since this thread has been revived, would like to ask a favor in case anyone can help finding a Km/h MKX cluster with 55K km or less. Would really appreciate it as I still haven't found one.
  11. Welcome. I had a 2008 Taurus, though here it was still marketed as the Fivehundred, and like you I am big, I also suffered from the left foot room. But then I got a 2011 MKX (similar to the 2011-2014 Edge) and the left foot room was great. It did have a dead pedal, but it was straight and had empty space above so I was able to stretch my left leg comfortably. Now with 2016 Edge, there is no more empty space above the dead pedal, so I consider it a downgrade in left foot space. Hope you find the one that suits you best, like what @WWWPerfA_ZN0W & @onyxbfly stated above, consider the Sport. It is the Driver's Edge. If it's not cup of tea, don't dismiss the 2.0 Edge as some members felt it peppy enough to not want the 3.5.
  12. Definitely goes with something other than Livernoise. They don't really support the Edge. For the 2015-2018 they only had 3 updates, last one was a few years ago. Also they started getting bad reputation for customer service with some failed engines after tuning. More details on this thread: https://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/board,111.0.html
  13. Congrats on the 2020. Wise selection, in my opinion, on the wheels & Sunroof.
  14. Attached. I couldn't find the procedure for removing the center register, I recall that it just pulls out. Ignition Switch - Vehicles With Keyless Vehicle System.pdf
  15. I haven't tried my self to remove the same switch, but I know these types of clips are really hard to remove and you can really break the plastic trim while removing them. Take car, try to distribute the pulling/prying force as much as possible.
  16. I had to see what it looks like without the drawer. The charging pad is still offered in the 2021 model as per the order guide.
  17. Check this from the service manual on how to remove the Driver Door Window Control Switch.
  18. What @WWWPerfA_ZN0W stated above, the bore size is different. Better to stick with 2007-2010 wheels and avoid using adapters. As for the offset, again, like what WWWperfA_ZN0W stated, it is fine, the reason for the difference is because of the different wheel widths. The 22" wheels are wider than the smaller wheels.
  19. They are different because of the aero spoiler. Since they are mounted in opposite directions the aero spoilers are flipped. Also, if I remember correctly, they each only install on their designated side, they can't be installed swapped. And I do agree, they are very good wipers.
  20. I read that replacements from McGard are smaller than the OEM. In this thread by @txaggie, he posted replacements that seem OEM sized.
  21. Ok, check today morning, it took about 7-8 minutes to reach 85C (185F) in mixed driving. Ambient temperature was about 78-79F. No AC or Defrost, the shutters moved quite a bit, from 0% open to 100% open. Should have enabled logging and see the graph ?.
  22. If remember correctly, ForScan reports % open. So at speed the value would go down to 0% open. Also, the AC affects the shutter operation as the condenser requires air flow, hence shutters would open more. Attached are from the 2015 Service Manual. Active Grille Shutter - System Operation and Component Description.pdf Active Grille Shutter - Overview.pdf
  23. Our car washing places have air hoses to use for blowing away water and dust from hard to reach places, but the side mirrors still drip water after getting up to speed or taking mild turns.
  24. I feal your pain. But I worry that sealing it up would cause the water to remain trapped inside for a long period with who knows what side effects. Drilling a hole might cause a whistling noise at speed. Tell us what you eventually do. I just lived it for the past few years. Even considered putting a bag over the mirrors during washing and then just wipe them later on.
  25. Is the 2016 also with the 2.0 4 cylinder? Just do the comparison is apples to apples. Also, as far as I know, all the Edges should have the shutters. Remote start it while looking in the grille to see if they are working. During startup they make a cycle to ensure they are working. If you use ForScan, there is a PID to monitor the shutter open percentage.
