  1. Middle East also gets it. Also, the 2019+ ST has it but with regular exhaust tips.
  2. First I'd like to apologise for derailing the thread from its original topic. But just a follow-up to the above, my earlier 2011 MKX did NOT have a PTU temp sensor, nor does a 2015 MKS EcoBoost (AWD) I've seen. The AWD off due to overheating on those vehicles would trigger through other means, I don't know if it's a RDU temperature sensor (if there is any) or by some sort of algorithm. The addition of the PTU temperature sensor, if I recall, was (or began) for Police Interceptors and it was to trigger a PTU fluid change requirement, not for AWD functionality. Edit: seems the sensor was first added to 2013 Taurus SHO (PP) and Interceptors as per this site. But it might have been in the 2011 Explorer due to its multi-terrain system & off road intentions. But definitely not on the Edge before 2015.
  3. There is a PID for it and with ForScan I can read the temp. That's how I knew my 2016 Edge Sport had it. I use the Android ForScan lite with an OBDLink MX Bluetooth.
  4. Mine also does, but I thought it was a Middle East build spec thing. Now we neef to know whether a warning message comes up when needed or not.
  5. They should have done what they did with the Police Interceptor & Utility, added a fluid temperature sensor that would trigger and indicate a PTU fluid change requirement when needed.
  6. You should be able to do it with ForScan software on a windows PC/Laptop and a good quality OBD2 adapter like the OBDLink EX (wired/USB) or OBDLink MX+ (wireless/Bluetooth).
  7. You should be able to to do the upgrade easily similar to a vehicle sold inside US. Only issue would be the Navigation maps should you decide to get it. If you get a Sync 3 without navigation your upgrade should be identical to US vehicles.
  8. I have read multiple oil analysis reports from many owners posted online, there was never an issue reported of inadequate oil filtering using Motorcraft engine oil filters. The general consensus is that they are at minimum average or better. So I'd trust Ford's recommendation on the oil filter. Another thing, the GT500 uses thicker oil, 5W-50 vs. the Edge's 5W-30, and probably at a different pressure/flow rate. So the filter medium might be optimized accordingly. The EcoBoost filter is also branded with EcoBoost, might be a marketing thing, or for a reason. Finally, the service manual has a note in engine oil drain & refill section regarding the stem o-ring that is not included with the GT500 filter:
  9. I had a 2011 MKX, it had the bigger engine (3.7 V6) like the Edge Sport. Even when temperatures in the summer was above 50 degrees C with A/C, the engine never overheated. Had the original radiator. Only when the fans got weak did the A/C stop cooling while in stopped traffic and outside temp was 51 or 52 C. The stock cooling system is very capable. If your engine is overheating then you have a problem that needs fixing, not an upgraded item. Compare the fan noise and air flow with another Edge so you can be sure if they are really ok or not.
  10. On the 2015+ if a new battery is installed, it has to be reset using a scan tool. The below is from the 2015 Service Manual:
  11. It is common nowadays for car batteries fail in 2-3 years, cars are full of electronics and rely on the battery a lot more than before. Since your Edge is a 2018, the battery is actually more than 2 years old. But, it should be covered under the vehicle's 3 year 36k Mile warranty. So if your still within the warranty period, have the dealer replace it for you.
  12. Welcome & congrats on the new ride. So what does the star white look like? Similar to a pearl white effect?
  13. I haven't found any touch up paint for the wheel. But, FYI, it was officially called "21" premium painted Tarnish dark low gloss aluminum"
  14. On my old 2011, I had weak fans that would spin, but not fast enough. Just a thought.
  15. Classic symptoms of a bad engine cooling fan(s). Replace with Motorcraft fan assembly.
  16. Let the dealer recheck the windshield and make sure it is sealed properly. Did you drive it before the replacement? If yes, was the sound similar? Also, what is your reference for excess wind noise? I mean what is your other car? An SUV will have more wind noise compared to a sedan due to higher drag.
  17. The vehicle is designed so that you always use the keyfob or keypad to access. You are not supposed to use the physical key except in emergencies (dead keyfob battery or dead vehicle battery). Using the physical key, the vehicle's perimeter alarm system would trigger once the door is opened (12 seconds) as you have not unarmed it with the fob or keypad. There is no physical switch inside the keyhole to disarm the alarm, so in the alarm's perspective, opening the door with the key is similar to an unauthorized entry.
  18. That is exactly what you should do. You should read the Owners Manual (link to PDF version). It is stated in the owners manual: With a dead battery in the keyfob, the only way to start the engine is using the backup slot in the center console.
  19. So no new TSB. Those essentially meant the 2018-2019 would get a replacement pan with a press in gasket, while the 2015-2017 still get the old type pan with RTV silicone sealant.
  20. The last TSB I saw only updated the 2018 and newer only, not the 2015-2017. Is there a newer TSB? The old TSB was discussed in this thread.
  21. The switch will most probably work, but not the rain sensing function. At the minimum, you'll need a different windshield and a rain sensor that mounts on the windshield, then some programming. The difference between the switches is probably only the writings on them, function is the same.
  22. @WWWPerfA_ZN0W Interesting how the (2015-2018) thermostat comes as an assembly with the housing. Also noticed that it has a small bypass outlet that doesn't go through the thermostat. @lildisco Do you notice a difference between both models in terms of how fast the interior heat comes on during that warm up time? Like what several members stated above that it might be a thermostat issue, but I wouldn't expect it to since everything else is ok. I remember reading that with auto-start-stop, there is also a heat-pump to circulate coolant during engine stop. that could also be a factor.
  23. I don't see why it wouldn't work. On the 2G Fusion forums several had upgraded from this one to the twin screen one. And as long as your getting the cluster from an Edge of similar model range, the lens that comes with it should also work. The only downside with this screen is the display's resolution will remind your that's it's the "lower level" cluster.
  24. As I don't live in US/Canada, shipping to multiple parties is difficult and expensive. That's why I am trying to avoid having to ship it to get it programmed. Mileage can be increased using ForScan, but not decreased. As a mod, it is reasonable to pay for the cluster (used) & lens costs, plus shipping. Over that it becomes overpriced and I just can't justify it to myself. And, yes, I have also been looking for MKX clusters. Thanks for the tip.
  25. Since this thread has been revived, would like to ask a favor in case anyone can help finding a Km/h MKX cluster with 55K km or less. Would really appreciate it as I still haven't found one.
